This car should be the standard to how all cars are built in the future. Put 1000 miles on it in 8 days. The technology and ergonomics are almost perfect. The Navigation is the best on the market. Voice commands not perfect but close. The handling for the majority(99%) of drivers is excellent. the 0-60times are very believable and the v6 kind of sounds like a v8 untill 5000rpm when it screams. Very fun car and I haven't got to the bluetooth yet.

This is the best vehicle Acura has built to date. Handling, performance, power, and technology are awesome. AND it can not be touched for the features/price comparison. Nobody and I mean NOBODY can give you this high a quality automobile and be within 6k of the TL.

Keep The TL in Mind

I researched and drove just about every sedan in this class and the TL is the best by far. The Vtech engine is very powerful and quiet. The interior is as stylish as there is in this class. Everyone who has driven in my TL loves it. I have a friend who drives a 5 series and loves his car from april- december but dreads the winter months here in New England. I on the otherhand can't wait for the snow, the TL is up to the challange!! Another friend has the Infinity G 35 and was disappointed that she didn't come across the TL when she was shopping. She instantly fell in love with my car. The changes from last year's TL are plenty, drive this car!!

This has been the best decision that I have made when it comes to purchasing a car. It comes with just about everything. The only option is a navigation system. The car is sturdy and fast as hell. Count the horses here and compare with the 3 series, CTS, A4, and ther is no competition.

I have never had this much fun owning a new car. Performance is incredible. Sound system is incredible, ready for DVD-A discs. 5.1 sound is incredible in the car. Bluetooth cell phone technology is so cool. Interior layout is top notch and all materials are incredible. Drove 3-series, G35, and LS and I know I bought the best car (and is the lowest price!)

We now have 21,000 miles on our TL. After solving the OEM Bridgestone tire problems by installing Michelin's, all seems well. As long time Accord V6 owners, though, we have never become satisfied with the overly harsh ride. Our dealer is excellent but is aware of the ride problems for former Honda owners. While we love the car, especially the interior features, the ride really detracts from our overall pleasure. When Acura dropped the older TL and incorporated all the S model features into the new 2004 model, we lost our chance to have the smoother ride. All systems are functioning well and we have not had any excessive warranty items.

I was able to buy my TL the first day that they were available. I work at a community college where we train Honda mechanics. When I drove my car to work, I was surrounded by students enjoying the look of my new car. Many of them were going to be working for Honda. The car is as much fun to drive as it is too look at but the best surprise is the audio system.

I have owned 2 Preludes 84,88,94 Accord & 04 TL. 04 TL w/ Nav is my favorite. I was so disappointed when I went to update to this years model in December. Honda did the same thing to the Prelude. Took a perfect car and blew it up to a big car. The TL size, Nose and “Cadillac” rear is all big turn offs. Then Honda moved the Nav into the dash takes away the intuitive touch screen. I was told the people didn’t like the finger prints. Does Honda even talk to its customers that loved the old lines and features? I am now looking for an 08 with the options I want, move to BMW or wait to see if Honda comes to its senses and fix this mess within 18 months. I am so disappointed in Honda.

Ever since this car was a concept, I have recognized Alfa Romeo (156 & 166) styling. TL, along with TSX finally brought a sharp exterior design to a japanese car maker. car behaves excellently on the road, handles corners with authority and makes you feel truly content with your investment. Considering latest design flops that are Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, TL will capitalize and seize more of the market, establishing itself as a favourable contender in luxury and sporty sedan market segment, rather than in usual medium-size-sedan-workhorse group. Obviously, this car passed rigorous quality assurance process. I suggest adding "invisible" nose bra to protect your car's hood from stone chips

I'm impressed to this point. The preformance to price ratio on this vehicle is phenomenal. Some aspects of the exterior design are a little clunky but overall the perception is good. The interior is nice although the silver 'psuedo chrome' feels a little tacky. The center console doesn't feel as clean without the navigation unit, it looks like they tried to fill space and came up a little short. The drive is taut and responsive. The only major dislike is that it's not RWD. On a scale of 1 to 10 this car is a solid 8.

I upgraded to the 2004 TL from a 2002 TL (non-S) and have been amazed. Compared to the previous model, the interior is truly luxurious. The seats are firm but comfortable. Driving this car is much more fun than with the old model because of the increase in power and the improvement in ride control. In all, this car stands head and shoulders above the old model in looks, interior, and driving. It's my favorite car yet.

This is the most fun to drive car that I have ever own or driven. Of cource I have yet to drive a ferrari. But I can tell you that this car has that thing. You know that thing that makes your head go back and your heart go out of control. I love it !!!! It's like when your a child and get that really kool bike and you cant wait to get home from school to ride it. The first week That I owned it I could not decide if I wanted to call out sick for the day to drive it around or if I should just call out all week. Well I hope you have as much fun with yours as I do with mine.

This is an excellent car. The performance and handling of this car is awesome. The styling, even 4 years after I bought it is still a head-turner. Two things I would change if I could: 1) move to rear wheel drive to eliminate the torque steer and 2) improve gas mileage in the city - I average 17-18 with careful driving. Highway is awesome - 33-34mpg. I hear the 09 TL may move to RWD. Hopefully that will happen. Any way about it, I would buy this car again without blinking. One additional note - get the nav... you won't regret it!

The new TL is a great car. The interior is unmatched and I've always been an Audi fan. I bought the Acura TL because it is by and far the most value-packed car that I test drove and it's a complete joy to drive. The stereo is amazing-the dash is layed out perfectly and the seats are supportive and luxurious...you need to test this one out if you re looking at Audi, Lexus or Infinity...

Just took delivery of my new TL and have NEVER enjoyed a new car better. All facets of driving are great. Test drove Infinity G35 (coupe and sedan) and the TL is much more car for the money. The only negative is that the 6 speed manual with the TL has a bit too much torque of the front end with the drivetrain on the front axle. Much less road noise and comfort in the Acure. Just the best all-round fun car, for the money, on the market. I'd put it up against the 3 series anytime...and save $thousands.

I tried all the competition and chose this car because I got the most bang for the buck. So, for the most part, it was the best choice in terms of price, quality, engine, transmission, power, options, etc. However, it NEEDS a smoother shifting transmission and the rattles and the little noises drive me crazy. The car sounds like it is 100- years old and it keeps getting worse. As long as I turn volume on radio up, I’m good. All-in-all pretty good car.

Certainly everything was much much nicer and had alot more toys, more power, but it didn't lose its "honda-ness" that I just can't explain. You would have to own a honda/acura for 12 years like me to understand. Look forward to 12 more trouble free years!!!

I tested the TL against the BMW 330, G35, A4, X-Type, S60, and IS. TL beat them all with it's performance, luxury, and technology. The only one that came close was the G35, but I thought the TL's interior and technology advantages were much better. I felt like this was the first time that Acura made a true "Style" statement inside and out. I love this car!

So far, 835 miles of pure bliss. As a long time Honda fan (3 Civics, 1 Accord, 2 Odyssey's, 1 Legend Coupe), I say this new TL is their premier product. Ride is great compromise between luxury and sports car. Quiet and smooth with great road feel. Fabulously fused accellerator and transmission. Way better than the ES330 and the I35. Awsome sound system. Big back seat... plenty of headroom.

I searched for 1 yr before purchasing this car. Started with the germans, looked into the japanese, perused the Sweeds. I got down to 4 finalists. Saab 93 Aero, Acura TL, BMW 330i, and Infiniti G35. I hate the G35 seats horrible bolsters, and what's up with the switches on the inside, the tranny was too gruff. The 330 was great as expected but 3k more + everybody has one here in LA. The worst thing about the 330 was the sensor under the rearview obtrusive and ugly. Saab or Acura... 6sp, good engines and euro feeling... When you consider the Saab is 2k more than Acura before any options it seemed like a no Brainer... It was the Acura TL 6sp for me. Best Bang for the Buck...

After owner several other vehicles and test driving Audi, BMW, Lexus, Infiniti, I fell in love with many of the practical features that the TL has to offer. The car is perfect for short and long-haul commutes. Gas mileage could be a little better, I get 21-22 MPG city and 30-31 on the hwy @ 78 MPH. The handling is excellent. The beverage holders could be a little deeper with an optional spacer if you wanted it. A can of soda will fit, but you cannot use the over in the center column. The trunk space is plenty for a long trip with luggage and the rear seats have enough leg room for any discerning passenger.

Transmission Issues

I have had my car since 2006 and have kept it under maintenance. It has treated me well for this period of time with occasional issues here and there. With 168,000 miles my transmission went and Motor mounts had to be replaced. Transmission was $5200 at the dealer. I opted to have it rebuilt elsewhere for $3300. I have also replaced the Motor Mounts. I guess certain things are to be expected but there were obvious issues with 2002-2003 and 2004's that were built earlier. I still believe these cars are reliable but some of these issues may be things that can be eventual problems with this model year. I also seem to be having some issues with the hands free freezing and dropping off.

I have about 10000 miles on my TL already and it has been one of the most exciting experiences that I ever had. Great performance and reliability - I never experienced any problems with the car. Front-wheel drive is still a disadvantage for the car - needs to change in future releases. I have the 6 speed MT and this car is very fast - no matter what they're going to tell you how great other German rivals are, I have tested the speed of the TL against some of them already and I left the test with a smile.

What a tremendous vehicle, and the most impressive part of it is the value. A luxury interior, with great power and performance. Sound system is groundbreaking for cars. Definitely comparible to a 6cyl 5 Series (maybe slightly smaller?), but almost 20Gs less. Highest recommendations . . . although there is one thing i cannot figure out . . . no compass?
