My new 2004 tl with nav gives a better ride, fuel miliage, and looks better than the new 2004 BMW 5. With 270 hp, getting up and going is effortless. The fit and finish is superb. The nav system is very user friendly and with 8 speakers in the cabin, the DVD audio and xm stereo makes you like to take the long way home or even getting stuck in traffic is no big deal! I highly recommend the new 2004 Acura tl

Outstanding smooth engine with no torque steer what so ever. Numerous full throttle accelerations(After 750 break-in miles)with no pull at all to the right. Very fast and smooth straight acceleration.

i've only had it a week, but so far i just enjoy being in it. i had a 2000 tl which was the best car ive ever owned (pevious cars bmw 528, volvo 960)never had a single problem with 2000 tl in 45000 miles.the 2004 has a stiffer body more solid, vault like feel, better handling, and much quicker.sound system is scary good.the total package is just subperb.if i get the same reliability as my 2000 t.l. i could be an acura poster boy.

This car is usually awesome. It has great styling, is comfortable, & very respectable performance numbers. Plus it's loaded w/ features for a great price. A couple things buyers should note: early build cars have lots of problems. Memory seats don't always work, check engine lights come on, & some people experience annoying vibrations.

Acura has done a fine job with its redesign of the TL. This sport sedan has to be a winner for Acura. Smooth handling, excellent acceleration, nice appointments add to the joy of driving this vehicle. I have owned my TL for a month and can't say that there is a day when I wish I had looked further. Overall, I expect miles and miles of pure driving pleasure with the new TL.

I am an average consumer who looked at several cars in the $30-$45K range. I was totally unprepared for what I got with the 2004 TL. It drives like a dream. My advice is to go test drive several mid range luxury cars and then drive the 2004 TL- and you are likely to save yourself $10K - $15K. One day I had to go back to the dealer for a standard service and they gave me a 2003 TL for the day- the 2004 is a totally differnt car.

I traded in my 01 Mercedes E430 which I absolutely loved...had one day of withdrawal and have never looked back. Let's see...old Mercedes worth half the $60K I paid for it after three years & a new one at close to $70K vs a new TL at half the price which, in three years will still be worth $20 to 25K. I'll take the TL and put the money I'll save to much better use. Besides it's the smartest car on the planet. It still doesn't quite drive & handle like a Benz...but who cares, it's way more fun to drive and the electronics package blows everything else away. Test drive one...you won't be dissapointed.

FANTASTIC SPORT SEDAN WITH LOTS OF LEG AND HEADROOM AND COMFORT . 04 BODY STYLE IS GREAT. SEATS ARE EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE AND CONTOURED. I FEEL AT HOME THE MOMENT THAT I GET IN.THE DASH AND BLUE BACKLIGHT INSTUMENTATION PANEL IS A "WOW" ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THE SOUND SYSTEM AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM ARE SUPERB. THE NAV SCREEN IS 8 INCHES AND ITS EASY TO USE AFTER 1 HOUR OF PRACTICE. THE RIDE IS SMOOTH AND QUIET AT 80 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. HANDELING IS PINPOINT AND THE EXTRA BRIGHT XENON HEADLIGHTS MAKE NIGHT VISION EASY. PLEASANT SURPRISES WERE THE AMOUNT OF POWER THAT THE 270 HORSEPOWER ENGINE PRODUCES AND HOW EFFORTLESS THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS.

This is a great car with a good blend of fun and practical. I just can't believe that the TSX beats it in these Consumer ratings! My 2004 TL beats every TSX I've been in (including 2008) in every way except one: the exterior styling on the TSX is way better. The TL needs cosmetic surgery, but it's a fantastic ride.

30+ cars later and 3rd Acura. I forgot how great these cars are. It's a great compromise of wanting a BMW with reliability and a more reasonable price. I picked up my TL with 59K miles for under $15K. Handles very well. Plenty of power for quicker takeoffs. Comfortable, luxurious, and overall fun to drive compared to my last car (Accord, yeah I know, but it was a bargain). When it's time to change again, I think I will stick with TLs.

I test drove the '04 Altima, Maxima, G- 35 , and the TL .. and fell in love with the latter. The G-35 is a spirited performer, but the interior feels a tad too snug, and the controls are a little balky compared to the Acura. The shift action is not as smooth, the clutch pedal is stiffer, and it has noticeably more vibration than the TL. The Acura is whisper quiet and butter smooth in everything it does. It has a level of quality and refinement I didn't find in the other three cars. The surround sound system is fabulous; all other factory systems I've heard pale in comparison ... or should I say muffle in comparison. :o)

The car is a definite advance over the previous TL, which I also owned and found to be a very good car. This car is much more powerful, handles better, and comes with just about everything. Economically, it actually seems to get better mileage on the open road. I took it on an extended trip and got 29mph.The navigation system is very good, though the voice commands need work. Acura should sell a lot of these vehicles as the pricing is very fair given the features and the styling is quite good. Overall a great value.

As advertised. HOT, HOT, HOT! Do not particularly like the low profile tires because of the bumpy ride. Will change to normal tires and wheels when the low profiles wear out. Around town it is acceptable, but on an extended road trip the ride may get tiresome. Second and third gears are phenomenal. Glad it is a front wheel drive, because at 270 horsepower, rear wheel traction would be a problem. Interior appointments look great-great visuals and all buttons are withing easy reach. With all the technological upgrades, would recommend the extended warranty.

After owning a '00 TL, a '02 TL-S, this '04 represents a significant advancement in refinement, better ride and handling and even greater acceleration. Highway gas mileage is much better that the estimate of 28MPG. Fit and finish, including interior materials, are superior to BMW or Infinite. Did not consider Lexus--they just don't have a competitive vehicle.

An excellent alternative to the GS300. Car is not as smooth as the GS300, but sportier. BMW 3 & 5 series are much smaller and clostrophobic when compared. The TL gets it done cheeper than both and is head and shoulders above the G35 & Maxmia. Try internet sales. Walking in the dealership, full MSRP and told no discounts. 30 minutes online and got one for $33,750 OUT THE DOOR! Talk to Hiedi at Pasadena Acura to view, but buy it from Nelson (internet sales guy). She knows the car better than most and Nelson knows the numbers!

The car handles very well; it has good road feel and corners turns "sports car like". It is very attractive inside and out. The interior has some luxury refinements that cars costing much more have only had in the past. At 33k it is a terrific value. The reliabilty of Acuras are among the best in the world. The BMW 5 series was the bench mark apparently and it doesn't fall very short on the handling capabilities and luxury these German cars afford. This car is priced $10+k less and is expected to not spend much time getting service like it's German counterpart.

This car is one of the most techno advanced cars on the market. Even after 2 months I am amazed every time I get in the car. Acura did it right with the interior and exterior design. The performance and handling is incredible. Driving this car in the snow is a breeze with traction control, electronic vehicle stability, throttle by wire, and antilock brakes. The engine begs you to drive it FAST. Interior and exterior quality is second to no others I have not found one workmanship flaw yet-inside or out. Nothing feels cheap or flimsy.

The car is very nice, but Acura jacked the price up and now I think I overpaid. The dealer made me think the product was like gold. They said that they were all sold out, for months... Then, 'lo and behold, one showed up and I bought it for full sticker. I got caught up in the moment and now I am somewhat disappointed. The car is very nice, but not worth 35K. You are much better off getting the 3-series BMW.

Just picked up my new TL last week - traded in a 2000 TL. What a difference! The improvements are vast, more power, more style (huge improvement here - the car looks mean), great stereo and very upscale interior. Acura definitely meant to move the TL up a class or two - mission accomplished. The 10% increase in price is justified and worth every cent.

Had my baby for over 3 months now - purchased 2 days before official sell date. I considered '03 model, but heard of redesign and waited. Worth the wait! New TL is a totally different car than the '03 - for the better. Power is amazing. All the luxury refinements you could want are here. Handling is great, but could be better with some new tires. Exterior styling is near-perfect, sleek & aggressive. I don't know why people complain that it's still FWD. You cannot tell a difference, unless you drive the streets like a race track everyday. Any way you look at it, this car is hands down the best bang-for-the-buck in the luxury sports sedan class.

Ever since this car was a concept, I have recognized Alfa Romeo (156 & 166) styling. TL, along with TSX finally brought a sharp exterior design to a japanese car maker. car behaves excellently on the road, handles corners with authority and makes you feel truly content with your investment. Considering latest design flops that are Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, TL will capitalize and seize more of the market, establishing itself as a favourable contender in luxury and sporty sedan market segment, rather than in usual medium-size-sedan-workhorse group. Obviously, this car passed rigorous quality assurance process. I suggest adding "invisible" nose bra to protect your car's hood from stone chips

So far, 835 miles of pure bliss. As a long time Honda fan (3 Civics, 1 Accord, 2 Odyssey's, 1 Legend Coupe), I say this new TL is their premier product. Ride is great compromise between luxury and sports car. Quiet and smooth with great road feel. Fabulously fused accellerator and transmission. Way better than the ES330 and the I35. Awsome sound system. Big back seat... plenty of headroom.

I searched for 1 yr before purchasing this car. Started with the germans, looked into the japanese, perused the Sweeds. I got down to 4 finalists. Saab 93 Aero, Acura TL, BMW 330i, and Infiniti G35. I hate the G35 seats horrible bolsters, and what's up with the switches on the inside, the tranny was too gruff. The 330 was great as expected but 3k more + everybody has one here in LA. The worst thing about the 330 was the sensor under the rearview obtrusive and ugly. Saab or Acura... 6sp, good engines and euro feeling... When you consider the Saab is 2k more than Acura before any options it seemed like a no Brainer... It was the Acura TL 6sp for me. Best Bang for the Buck...

This car is unbelievable. Incredible handling, sound system, PERFORMANCE. I keep reading that the BMW 5's or 3's handle better. They may - at 120 mph - but who is going to drive that fast ? It's my wifes car (thank god) because I could get into serious trouble with this car. We got the 6 speed - Blue/ camel. Looks great, goes better.
