2004 Acura TL with Navigation

I just purchased a new Acura TL with the navigation and XM satellite radio system yesterday (October 2003). Try as I might, I couldn't get any discount at all. I paid full list price plus $100 for the mud flaps. I live in California, and tried several dealers, they were all asking full list price. I was going to wait to see if the prices would go down, but I decided to bite the bullet and get the green metallic one left on the lot. It's a very nice car. Overall, I am very happy with the car. It's a bit larger than I thought it was.

The 2004 Acura TL is loaded with great standard features that other vehicles only provide as options for a lot more money. The surround sound stereo with XM satellite radio is the best sounding system you can get in a car-- fantastic!!! The interior is very functional--I especially like the large numbers and easy to use controls. Has lots of room in both front and rear. Looking forward to getting a bluetooth phone to use with Handsfree Link. Believe me, I looked and drove several cars and the 2004 Acura TL is definitely the BEST car for the money and fun driving factor.

I bought a used 2004 TL automatic with approx. 75K miles on it, have put another 4K miles on it, and I couldn't be happier!!! It drives beautifully, the interior material is top notch, it has all the gadgets you could want (especially for being a 2004..way to go Acura for making all those amazing features standard on all base models!), and the exterior still turns heads. I put a lot of review into my purchase, especially from this website so I thought it was fitting I put some back in. The car does slip a little bit more than my last car in snowy conditions but i think that's mainly due to the torque.

This car has all the extras that get you excited about a car. The downside is that the vehicle while powered well does not give you a feel you would want from a sport sedan. The understeer is very noticeable and quite frustrating. If you are looking for a comparable car in the 35K range buy the G35. I made a mistake because I like to drive.

We bought this TL recently for my wife's primary car and are very pleased with it. It's a great looking and very solid feeling car. The interior looks like new except for the metal trim pieces everyone seems to complain about that are nicked and dinged. Also climate and radio display face is pitted and shows it bad in the sun. The car has great power and gets 30+ mpg on freeway. The car has 67570 miles and I haven't noticed any rattles or problems yet but it is still new to us. The seats look new. I bought it because I like the features and Honda quality plus it came certified with manufacturers warranty. Manual shift auto is useless though, I just leave it in drive.

I have had two Acuras now and have no regrets! I get awesome mpg (25-29) per tank. The comfort of this vehicle is amazing. The car is very easy to handle and great on curvy roads. I have the anthracite gray which is very easy to keep clean! :) I have no problems with this TL or my previous '01 3.2 CL. I put 180K miles on my CL and currently have 72K on my TL. Both vehicles run excellent and I have absolutely no complaints to say about my choices!

Fun to drive, obvious quality, intuitive instrumentation; A real head turner that's bound to evolve into a world class vehicle. The bluetooth works great with my Sony Ericsson cel phone and the XM stereo sounds awsomely superb! Its fun to step into the car every time! Handling is good, although not as good as the BMW 5 Series which costs 18-20 grand more.

It has been two weeks since I picked up my Black/Ebony 04 TL w/Navigation. This is by far the most fun to drive vehicle I have ever owned. I am the former owner of a 2002 BMW 330i, and I must say the TL has proven to be a pleasant surprise. The power is quite adequate, and the handling is impressive. I really enjoy the styling of this car, and have received far more positive comments from strangers than I ever did driving my Bimmer. The interior quality is outstanding, and the sound system is the best stock system I have ever heard. Best all- around package under $40K!

It is beautiful with lines that draw alot of attention (especially TL drivers) It handles great and has so much technology and options you have study so you dont miss them. The surround sound is fantastic and the voice commands with the bluetooth make it very functional. I am very glad i got this car as I looked at BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus, and several other cars and I believe it is by far the best

Lexus, BMer, Mercedes?? Nope this car has them all beat for what you get for the price. A week after I bought my car I had to drive it 1000 miles for my job and it made the whole trip a dream. I told the Nav system where I wanted to go and it got me there and with the XM Radio blasting on the comedy channel and others it made the drive sweet. Take any of the other luxury cars and put all the features that come standard on the TL into them and you end up paying a heck of a lot more than what I had to pay for my TL. You just can't go wrong with this

After five plus years and over 100,000 miles I can say that this is an excellent vehicle for almost anybody. I would not recommend it to any elderly or heavy set people since getting in and out may be difficult due to the low seat position and spring loaded front doors that tend to close back on you. Fun to drive, very good brakes, front drive is fine for 99% of driving needs. I average 27 mpg with about 2/3 highway 1/3 city driving. I find the voice command menu to be a gimmick, but I use the blue tooth phone all the time. Other than an annoying squeak from the glove box periodically, the car is still quiet and very reliable. Too bad Acura screwed up the exterior redesign for 2009.

After 12,000 miles, I still love driving it every day! The handling and power are awesome. Friends rave about the interior and the stereo. I haven't had the quality issues others have complained of. After reading the Edmunds forums, I believe while there are some quality issues, the majority of TLs are fine. I'm getting 25 - 26 MPG in mixed driving (mostly highway).

The new TL is nothing at all like the old TL. I owned a 2002 TL type "S". I bought this car without driving it in Chicago and had it delivered to my front door in MI. I currently have a BMW 330 Convertible with a Manual Trans, and this new TL will run circles around the BMW.I would definetly recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market for a reasonably priced luxury/performance sedan. Wait, NO I wont. I do not want everyone on the road to have this car.

It's an Acura, so there is no doubt about it's reliablity. But when it comes to performance, I would prefer the TL Type-S from 2003 models. Or Rwd Infiniti G35 for that matter. I just don't feel that this vehicle has 270 hp and 238 torque. On the ohter hand, the Type-S models were a lot more fun to drive. I regret I had shopped around a little more.

I was able to buy my TL the first day that they were available. I work at a community college where we train Honda mechanics. When I drove my car to work, I was surrounded by students enjoying the look of my new car. Many of them were going to be working for Honda. The car is as much fun to drive as it is too look at but the best surprise is the audio system.

I have owned 2 Preludes 84,88,94 Accord & 04 TL. 04 TL w/ Nav is my favorite. I was so disappointed when I went to update to this years model in December. Honda did the same thing to the Prelude. Took a perfect car and blew it up to a big car. The TL size, Nose and “Cadillac” rear is all big turn offs. Then Honda moved the Nav into the dash takes away the intuitive touch screen. I was told the people didn’t like the finger prints. Does Honda even talk to its customers that loved the old lines and features? I am now looking for an 08 with the options I want, move to BMW or wait to see if Honda comes to its senses and fix this mess within 18 months. I am so disappointed in Honda.

Was the first one to purshase off the dealers lot a 2004 TL in October in Nighthawk Black Pearl with Nav. Never owned a black car and was a little hesitant about the color but wife convinced me that since the car had a extremely dark blue hue to it in direct sunlight it would be a nice change. This car is head and shoulders above previous 2001 TL which I owned and Acura is more than on the right track with this redesign. Car handling is outstanding and the car is quieter than previous models. This car is extremely solid and for the money deserves a very, very serious look in realtionship to other vehicles in its' class.

I'm impressed to this point. The preformance to price ratio on this vehicle is phenomenal. Some aspects of the exterior design are a little clunky but overall the perception is good. The interior is nice although the silver 'psuedo chrome' feels a little tacky. The center console doesn't feel as clean without the navigation unit, it looks like they tried to fill space and came up a little short. The drive is taut and responsive. The only major dislike is that it's not RWD. On a scale of 1 to 10 this car is a solid 8.

I upgraded to the 2004 TL from a 2002 TL (non-S) and have been amazed. Compared to the previous model, the interior is truly luxurious. The seats are firm but comfortable. Driving this car is much more fun than with the old model because of the increase in power and the improvement in ride control. In all, this car stands head and shoulders above the old model in looks, interior, and driving. It's my favorite car yet.

This is an excellent car. The performance and handling of this car is awesome. The styling, even 4 years after I bought it is still a head-turner. Two things I would change if I could: 1) move to rear wheel drive to eliminate the torque steer and 2) improve gas mileage in the city - I average 17-18 with careful driving. Highway is awesome - 33-34mpg. I hear the 09 TL may move to RWD. Hopefully that will happen. Any way about it, I would buy this car again without blinking. One additional note - get the nav... you won't regret it!

I bought the Acura TL because it is by and far the most value-packed car that I test drove and it's a complete joy to drive. I tried all the competition and chose this car because I got the most bang for the buck. So, for the most part, it was the best choice in terms of price, quality, engine, transmission, power, options, etc. However, it NEEDS a smoother shifting transmission and the rattles and the little noises drive me crazy. The car sounds like it is 100- years old and it keeps getting worse. As long as I turn volume on radio up, I’m good. All-in-all pretty good car.

Acura has done a great job of improving on an excellent value. This car rocks. Great audio system. Navi is a bit more complicated than a few years ago and the voice command system leaves something to be desired (understanding commands). But the car handles great and is faster than ever. Feels much sportier than previous models. The lines are classy and the price isn't much more than before.

The 2004 TL is my third Acura, and I can say that it's the best model yet. What drew me to the new TL was the total redesign. The previous TLs always looked plain and conservative. Acura created a handsome, sporty sedan that can now compete with the BMW in overall looks and features. The car has much more power, a smoother ride, and handles curves much better than the previous CL and TL models. The interior of the car is very modern and contemporary. I purchased the Abyss Blue exterior with camel interior. The blue glow of the dashboard really complements the exterior color of the car nicely.

Certainly everything was much much nicer and had alot more toys, more power, but it didn't lose its "honda-ness" that I just can't explain. You would have to own a honda/acura for 12 years like me to understand. Look forward to 12 more trouble free years!!!

Incredible car for the price. We drove the BMW 3 series, Infiniti G35, etc. The TL beat each and every competitor for hp, build quality, interior materials, interior room, features, and handling. The only thing Acura lacks at this time is the brand image, but with the TL, new TSX, and recent MDX, Acura may be a full fledged competitor in the luxury car line now!

Acura has done a fine job with its redesign of the TL. This sport sedan has to be a winner for Acura. Smooth handling, excellent acceleration, nice appointments add to the joy of driving this vehicle. I have owned my TL for a month and can't say that there is a day when I wish I had looked further. Overall, I expect miles and miles of pure driving pleasure with the new TL.

Never one for non-stylish design, the acura tl drew my undivided attention for exterior beauty. A 4 door sedan in the past would never fly,the new tl style sold me .Options galore, power, handling, comfort, looks, surround sound,it's all there -you can't go wrong,an investment for now or years away.
