Used 2003 Acura TL Consumer Reviews
sucky car
21,000 miles transmission out, 4 weeks to repair
An Almost Perfect Compromise
Lots of companies make first rate cars as long as they have a clear single function in mind: sports, people mover, luxury. The beauty of the TL and TL type S is that while some other make can do any single thing better, this car is the most well rounded vehicle in its price class, and the price is just about the lowest. It offers just about all the features you're likely to want, with a comfortable rear seat, and the ability to drive country roads without sitting on the brake pedal at every curve. Again, there are plenty of cars that are better at something, but this is about the best overall package on the market.

Excellent Choice
I made the purchase after looking at Accord and Maxima. Someone told me to check out TL. I drove the Type-S and purchased it immediately. I very reliable car. Would purchase again in a second.Took to dealer for oil change, they noticed the tranny recall, gave me a loaner, and was all completed painlessly in a day.
Acura Tl Type S
Leased the car in February and have just over 4000 miles. Car is fun to drive does everything well. Plenty of power, looks grow on you and is a solid all around car. Plenty of punch for the price.
transmission failure
Bought the 2003 TL brand new. Comfortable and smooth ride. Interior features adequate and functioned well since driven off the lot. The transmission failed at 81,000 miles. We never got a notice that the transmission was under recall but the dealer still required me to pay $1,000 out of the $3,000 cost for a new transmission. Previous to the transmission failure they try a "fix," that did not work. Some kind of deal.
