luxurious SUV. comfortable. 5 modes of transmission allow everything from snow to sport+. the latter has firm handling, terrific pickup. overall fuel economy is not as good as prior model. navigating touch system for infotainment is not completely intuitive. seats are superb and finish is first rate. style is up to date and quite elegant.

Just joined Class Action RDX lawsuit

My 20 year love affair with Acura is over! I also just joined the recently filed Class Action lawsuit... [HTML removed] Nothing but infotainment connectivity headaches, screen blackouts, CarPlay unavailability, and transmission issue at 2,000 miles. The ride and new styling are great, but hassles with infotainment issues, upgrades, and six trips (one was flat-bed tow in) within first 10 months is ridiculous. Presently am considering other car options. To those who have not experienced/or poo-pooed the infotainment issues, consider yourselves lucky!

Been loving our RDX after a few weeks!

We've had our RDX in Chicago for a few weeks now and are loving it. It's very comfortable to ride in, especially on longer trips. I'm in love with the responsiveness of acceleration, the inside look/feel, and unlike other reviews, I actually really enjoy the infotainment system. Maybe it's because my wife and I are a bit younger than many buyers (30 years old), but we found it very easy to pick up. Picking up the infotainment system took us about 48 hours. I find it easier than a touch screen because I don't have to reach up all the time. The inside look and feel was probably the biggest selling point for us. My wife loves the hollow inside console where she can put her purse, and it's very modern looking. The driving experience is about as good as my other car which is a Mazda 3, which I think is pretty impressive given that I'm used to driving a zippy smaller car, and this is my first SUV. The real reason we picked the RDX in the first place were the IIHS safety ratings which were perfect. We did have one issue so far where the infotainment system hung unexpectedly, and it appears to be an issue with Spotify on Apple Car Play. I was able to resolve the issue by resetting the system and it was pretty quick, but I'm hoping it doesn't become a recurring issue. I'm also comforted by the fact it's a software issue (which gets automatic updates from Acura, and has a good chance of being fixed in the future), as opposed to a mechanical issue. Overall, we love our RDX and look forward to driving it every day.

Very Impressive

Not sure what car others are reviewing that gave the car such poor ratings. Unless I just got an exceptional one (which I doubt), this truly, overall is an impressive car. Fuely economy and quality of the nav screen are my only disappointments. As far as the nav screen I use Apple's so I have a workaround for that. Wish Acura would just use the nav setup the Honda's have (love the screen quality and detail on my wife's 2017). As far as fuel economy, not getting anywhere near the quoted ratings but I also driving a little more aggressively than I did in my 2015. Hopefully my fuel economy will improve from my 18/22 I am getting so far when I tone down my driving. The car is just so much fun to drive it actually begs to be pushed around. The interior is luxurious. The sound system, noise level, ride quality and handling are almost all you could ask for. Transmission is pure, acceleration is really good (not pin you back in your seat good, then again this is not a sedan let alone a race-like car), overall comfort are well worth the price of admission.

Electronics & Tech NOT user Friendly

The technology is unnecessarily complicated. There is a touch pad that is used to access the electronic options like your desktop. Interesting idea but it is like operating your computer while driving - DANGEROUS ! I like technology - so I am a good judge of ease of use and usefulness. Listening to the radio is like booting up your computer then going through the system interface before getting to pandora. AND the display is NOT a touchpad. Too many steps to listing. There is no direct access to any function - Bluetooth, radio or aux or car system adjustments. And for over $40,000 I could not get blind side warning. You have to buy the next teck package up. As for the transmission, it is noisy in the first four gears. It is really noisy. My wife thought there was a problem and asked me to take it to the dealer to get checked. Unless you must have an Acura go buy something else. I rushed and did not take enough time with this RDX before my purchase. I would not have made the purchase if I had and I told the dealer such. This is a new model year - my guess is there will be changed before the 2020 models arrive. As for the gas mileage - TERRIBLE we got max 21.6 miles per gallon on the highway after a 1200 trip.
