V70 T5 Volvo Wagon
The ultimate mom mobile with style. In trying to avoid the world of minivans I happened upon my V70 T5 and just love it. The seats are exteremly comfortable and there is no loss of power or comfort extras on this Volvo. So far I have not had any major issues with the car and the small things I have had the warranty covered without the slightest problems.
Top marks
This is undoubtedly the best car I've ever owned (including other Volvos, Audis, BMWs, etc.). It blends comfort , style, functionality, and responsiveness in just the right measure. I've had no problem to speak of in over two years. By picking the car up in Sweden (a great deal), I was able to get a stick shift, which only enhances its sports car feel.
DO NOT Buy a used 2001 XC
I loved the design of these Cross Country wagons, very handsome, and the interior fit and finish is really beautiful in this car, but otherwise this think is an abosule MESS. Stay away at all costs. I have owned two other Volvos in the past, but this piece of junk has really soured me on Volvo. Its too bad...but I think the 2000 and 2001/2002 are really bad reliability wise. Ive had to replace the transmission, there is always something going wrong with the car, and its so crazy expensive to get it fixed, at least $500 to $1000 each time it goes to the shop. Im dumping this piece of junk before it eats my lunch.
Love this Vehicle!
First Volvo we have ever owned. Bought it because of its looks and safety record. Have owned it now for over 3 years and, granted I only drive about 4000 miles per year, but we have not had any trouble with it. Take it for service to Volvo of Tacoma (WA) and their service dept. is outstanding. They go out of their way to make sure we are satisfied. Only repair was to a rattling passenger seatbelt which was fixed under warranty. Loved the car so much we bought two more Volvo's for our kids to drive!
Great car with some problems
Love my car. It has had a good number of repairs over its lifetime. some attributed to high mileage and a lot of driving time. Some to what I believe to be poor design. The transmission has been our biggest issue. It has had issues with slipping in and out of gear. Overall I would buy another
