My 3rd Touareg!
I owned 3 Tribeca Subaru and 1 Audi Q5; they were too small. The Touareg is just right; it doesn't bump my head on the lift gate. There is just my wife and me and for us it is a perfect fit. I was surprised at the good acceleration and disappointed with the low end torque since my two other Touaregs were the 3.0 diesels. I think the air resources agencies have an aim to get rid of diesels.

Really love the vehicle
I would buy another one here if I could!!!!! The problem is they are only sold in Europe and China Nothing else in the VW line compares to this car It has the same platform as Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga, and the Lamborghini Urus....All of them remade in the same place under one roof the Volkswagen factory in Bratislava

Too bad VW USA has decided to stop importing
When I discovered VW was discontinuing the Touareg for the USA, I traded my 2016 for a 2017. These are great cars with tremendous specs. The replacement Atlas is like going from a nice car to a pedestrian model. I’d never buy the Atlas, feels junky. VW has basically forced Touareg buyers into its luxury lines, either Porsche or Audi. VW is back to the Beetle philosophy and is segmenting the market.

Perfect Car with Two Small Exceptions
After having this car for a year, no issues and my previous comments stand... This is my second Touareg after driving a 2005 into the ground. Huge improvements in interior luxury/features and acceleration. It's about the perfect car for my needs. Big enough to fit my family of five comfortably, though probably not for long drives. Impressive interior with very high quality parts and styling with beautiful huge oversized sunroof - looks like the Porsche Cayenne it is based on at almost half the price. Quick, steady acceleration for such a heavy car and great ride...I've been sneaking up to 80 or 85 mph accidentally a few times because it rides so smoothly. The two small issues are 1) no CD player (that is probably me resisting change) and 2) no USB port, just bluetooth. For the CD player there is a media port in the center console that I plugged in a portable CD player, but it's a bit cumbersome to use. For the USB I guess I can live with just the Bluetooth and an outlet, but you'd think they could drop a USB in the center console for easy charging. There's a regular outlet on the back of the console but it's not easy to access when driving. Maintenance and reliability are good so far - not a single issue in one year and 15,000 miles. Altogether this is an exceptional car that looks great, feels great, drives great and has about every feature you'd want. Highly recommend.

Love my '17 Touareg
I went from an Audi Q7 and an Acura MDX to the Touareg Executive and I love this car. It is a perfect size for me (6' 5") without being too large overall like the Q7. It is a dream to drive with the Assist Cruise Control and it is quiet and comfortable. We have taken it on 11 hour one-day road trips, which is a long drive in any car, and everyone comments on the quiet, comfortable ride. Given it's size it is quick and handles beautifully. The winter driving in Minnesota is no problem and the Off Road setting works well. I have put 60,000 miles on this car in 1 1/2 years- it does not eat tires, it rides smooth, it has been hassle free. This is a great SUV.
my second Touareg
I purchased my 2008 touareg in 2009 and put 200000+ miles on it. best car I ever owned. gave it to my granddaughter to drive. the 2017 I plan on putting 200000+ miles on it. have 15k on it now and is the best driving car I have ever own. too bad not in the line up for VW. hopefully by 2027 they bring it back when I am ready for my 3rd one.

Great Look Good Price
Loved this car! My only two hangups were it does not have a USB port and the logistical placement of cupholder. I am short, and found myself hitting my cup that was in the driver's side holder daily. The braking was amazing and it was a super comfortable ride. It is not great on gas, but I knew that going in. I did not have my car long enough to make some other reviews, as somwone liked my car enough to steal it before I even made my second payment

Second Touareg
Love the car as i'm on my second one. We have the 2017 WB edition. Quality overall in build quality is top notch. Solid drive and feel on the road. We always feel like we're in a substantial car, but one that handles extremely well and has a good connection between driver and the road. I have 20K miles on it now and had zero issues. Previously had a 2012 Audit A6 and that car stayed in the shop with major issues. Had a Cayenne previous to that is really enjoyed that car, but had some exhaust issues (had plastic manifold that had to be replaced). Touareg, the first and second, zero issues. Awesome car. Note however, the tech is just a tad dated but very functional. I added Apple at play. Nice addition. Edmonds asked for an update. I still have the car and still absolutely love the car. Periodically I’ll think about trading it in, then I drive it again and remember that I love the fit, finish and heftiness the car has. I’ll own another three years bring it to 8 years ownership

Love the car...
This is my second Touareg, also owned a Cayenne. This is the biggest bang for the buck german SUV in my opinion. I looked a the Macan and Alfa's new SUV before purchasing another Cayenne. The Macan is sweet, but a little small feel to it and too many technology components - i had a fully loaded Audi A6 and i had issues with the tech. The Touareg is simply inside, much like the Alpha. However, the alpha is too new to the US market and the Touareg is tried and true. The look is classic and the drive for me is great, solid, secure, high, etc.

Best VW I’ve Owned & It Tows!
I’ve had my eye on a Touareg for years but was hesitant since my colleagues all said “you need a truck” to tow anything with. Well, I went the truck route for the first time in my life and was highly disappointed in the experience. While it can tow and could carry a literal 1/2 ton of “stuff” it had issues that comes with a truck. 15 minutes after driving off the lot in the Touareg I remembered exactly why I had never owned a truck. The Touareg is smooth, comfortable, efficient and reliable plus it can tow. The adventure I had to secure the Touareg in another state was a memorable experience and opportunity to bond with my youngest daughter. The highlight was driving home in the Touareg because it negotiated the same roads we traveled in the truck much better and more efficiently overall. I’m not a car aficionado but the Touareg is the right vehicle for me, and is one that I intend to keep for years due to its quality and appearance. Maybe it’ll be my daughters first car when she finally has her license as well. Until then, I’ll enjoy every mile in my new to me Touareg, and be glad that my first and last truck helped convince me the Touareg was the right vehicle. It’s also the only vehicle I ever needed to tow anything with. I only wish that new Touaregs were available in the U.S. vice only the Pilot-esque VW Atlas.

better buys
I have had the car just a few days an all and all the car is impressive. However after coming out of my214 Ford Edge (42k) To this car (50k) I feel that VW should've put a little thought into the tech package. I assumed this car was state of the art in tech. The car runs well but I already use google maps to get places. The voice recognition is HORRIBLE. My 2014 Edge was light years ahead of VW on the Tech side.

Great car - constant repairs
Dream car, it tows, luxury, and smaller footprint. Bought 2017 Touragu I want to love it but it has disappointed me the past 18 months. Entertainment system is lacking, no phone, no text, and old nav no phone interface, no cameras, really wanted the 360 camera. I will sell it because of the missing 360 camera. comfortable, I love the seats, the moonroof, the storage, towing, great drive. Selling due to entertainment system. It has needed in under 30,000mi repair ACC new tires new battery new water pump 2X Great car, but I don't trust it to not need further spendy repairs. towing and offroad a superb
