After seeing the Toureg I tried to not to fall in love with it. But once I test drove it I was a gonner! I am still being amazed by some of the thoughtful features I continue to discover each time I drive it. This is the SUV Mercedes should have built.

We bought this T-reg with 7K miles from fleet use. We are very glad we bought the extended warranty, as this car has required over $6K in repairs over the last year. Finally traded it in this week with 97K miles on the odometer. This vehicle performed well in all weather and road conditions. We live in Minnesota where the snow and ice can come quick and strong, and the T-reg could handle all conditions, with good style and comfort. The V6 is a bit underpowered for a vehicle this heavy, but we did not do any towing, so we were OK. There was not enough room in the driver's seat for my 6'2" frame, so I would frequently get uncomfortable on long drives. Reliability problems are bad.

I opened the door of a black V8 equipped with a cognac colored leather interior - reminiscent of a nicely worn baseball glove. The look was of clean German lines with plush British detail - perfect! Hop on the seat and you know this car is solid. I drove one which allowed me to set the suspension to its most road-worthy setting. This vehicle cornered like my BMW. I leased it the next business day and I've never had so much fun driving anything. The gas mileage, however, is dreadful. I'd only trade it for a Porsche Cayenne; but that's about $15,000 more and the gas milage is reported to be as brutal. J. Longo Somerset County, New Jersey

This car is FAR, FAR superior to the '99 ML430 I traded in. The ride is absolutely awesome and smooth with the air suspension in comfort mode or nimble and quick in sport mode. The comfort of the Nappa leather is fantastic. The 310 hp Audi 40 valve V8 makes this a super highway cruiser. This is by far the best value SUV being sold today. These features in an Audi would cost you $10k more, and $20k more in the Porsche Cayenne.

I get more compliments on this car than any other car I ever owned. Everyone who sees it says they hadn't realize it looked that good. I have never had this much fun driving a car! And I thought my Passat was awesome. BRAVO VW, BRAVO!

have had problems with the fan...even though not on AUTO...still adjust self. For some reason, when you hit AUTO, it sometimes changes to 72 degrees. Do not like that dual control but only one fan speed control. Have had problem with back hatch not unlocking. Seat belt must be on...if not on, even though in Park, bell continues to ring. Have problem with air continually blowing on window. Tends to have condinsation problem at night and in rain. There is a "Rain X" type of solution in the washer fluid that causes terrible glair problems at night when it rain.

Super vehicle--without question! I drive a ton and if you want a vehicle to take you to your clients or friends this is for you. No worries about the weather either--w/ all wheel drive its a snap!

I bought my Touareg about two years ago after having purchased a flawless Jetta nine years ago (which we still drive and requires very little maintenance.) I love to drive this car- whether down the street to the store out of town for the weekend. The precision handling and comfort have spoiled me, as well as the bells and whistles that come along with a luxury SUV. I have had a few repairs done on the car, but they were all covered by the extended warranty. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun ride for themselves and/or family! We have owned a Toyota 4-Runner and a Ford SUV in the past,and they pale in comparison to this car.

I researched many SUV's such as Infinity, Nissan, Acura, Lexus, Honda, BMW and Toyota and found the Touareg superior to all of them. VW has done an excellent job with their first entry into the SUV market. This is one vehicle I was really excited about buying. Hope the Touareg turns out to be reliable , if so it will be the best vehicle I have ever owned.

This SUV (Premium Plus V8) is the funnest, most comfortable, sporty, luxurious vehicle I have ever driven. The air suspension is worth every penny, not to mention the navigation system that is integrated into the display between the tach and speedo. The upgraded sound system will make you think twice before shutting off the Touareg. The power is incredible and the responsiveness, especially if you put it into "S" (sport mode) is incredible. The sound of the engine and the higher revving shifting (together with placing the damping control on "Sport") make you think you are in a sports car.

I've had the Toureg for about a month now. What a great SUV!!! We originally were going to purchase a Land Rover Discovery, but found the Toureg to be packed with great features in one well laid-out package.

Spent the last week driving my folks' new Touareg V8 and couldn't say enough to really do it justice. I ordered my own today with the V10 TDI scheduled for production early November and delivery for January. Went with the V10 TDI for better fuel economy (24 mpg on the HWY) and increased torque for pulling my boat. Besides, the V10 TDI has won several international awards for its engineering.

I bought the 2004 Touareg in Aug. of 2005 and it has been nothing but trouble ever since. For all the problems I have had, I always had to take it back at least twice because it was not done right the first time. I have had problems with the amplifiers that had to be replaced two times. The tire indicator has always had a malfunction, but it was not until after the warranty that the dealer finally admitted that all 2004's Touaregs have this problem. And most recently the horn does not work at all, which will cost $438 to fix!! My advise it not to buy a 2004. And I hate that they do not have loaner car service. I am at the dealer so much they are programed in my cell phone as a personal contact.

I went to get an oil change for my 2002 Saab 9-5 wagon and I left with a 04 Touareg V6. As much as I love the Saab there was something about the Touareg that I could not keep my eyes off of. So while the Saab was getting its lube I test drove a Touareg V6 and was amazed at the capabilty of the vehicle. As an owner of a 98 Audi A6 I have loved VW/Audi simplistic apporach to design. The interior noise is next to nothing at 70 mph on horrible Ohio roads. I have not figured out the navigation system as of yet and I am sure it is something I do not need, but for the Touareg's price when compared to other premium SUVs it is a steal. I recommend it to EVERYONE

A Great ride, and looks better than the Porsche. Solid feel on the road with smooth and powerfull excelleration. To many high-tech and comfort features to list....Love this SUV.

This SUVW is tremendous. I have had nothing but enjoyment since the day I brought it home. Rides like a sedan in comfort mode and like a sporst car in sport mode. If you don't take a hard look at the VW you are selling yourself short.

I bought this SUV over the MDX, X5, ML, and XC simply because the VW matches all others in luxury, performance, and quality. Plus it saved me a couple grand.

THIS IS PURE PEFECTION AT ITS BEST. VW DEFINATELY HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WITH THIS ONE. THERE IS NOT ANOTHER SUV OUT THERE THAT IS THIS FUN TO DRIVE AND CAPABLE OF GOING OFF ROAD AS THIS. THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST SUV EVER BUILT!!!

I've had my Touareg for the last three weeks. This last weekend we took it up the side of a mountain in CO -- literally! This car is even more awesome than they make it look. I have the V6 at high altitude and it definelty has the power to do almost anything you'll want it to do! I haven't even began to push it near it's limits and it keeps taking everthing I throw it's way!

The vehicle is fun and comfortable, however we have a defective windshield. The glass is wavy and very hard to see through. Purchased on Sept. 30, it is now Oct. 22 and we have yet to get the replacement. Dual air controls are not working and check tire pressure light will not go out. Gets stuck in soft sand quite easily as well, had to get towed out. Can't wait to try it in water. Back hatch does not alway open with auto key, it takes many tries.

Great vechicle to drive. I've gotten at least a dozen compliments from people on the road. Powerful V8 and very responive on corners. Can't wait for the snow out here on the Front Range.

I feel very sorry for the people who grossly overpaid for the Cayenne, X5, and ML 500. The Touareg is an incredible car for an even more incredible value. It features the chassis of Porsche and the engine and interior styling of Audi. Quite simply, it is the best SUV out there. This is just the beginning of great things to come from Volkswagen!

The SUV is great: Performs well, looks great inside and out. Comfort could be better in the backseats. Front seats take a bit longer to get use to but are very comfortable. Fuel Economy is not good...but what'd you expect, this isn't your uncle's Honda...This is still not as bad as a Range Rover or Hummer.
More fun then my a6 2.7t

The V8 Touareg is the best SUV I've ever driven. The trip computer is in color!! Everything is right where you need it. I love the NAV and upgraded stereo. My salesman actually took me OFF ROAD and showed me the different features it has (hill descent, locking differential, air suspension) It can do anything a Rover can do for 25000 less!

I have had my Touareg for about a week; V6, Premium Pkg., and Xenon Lights, and am totaly amazed. I had a deposit on an Infinity FX35, and pulled it after driving the Touareg. The inerior is extermely high quality and comfortable. The detail that VW put in this monster is to be commended. After you get past the $38,000. for a WV, and decide to take one for a test ride, you will love it. Despite some other comments that I have read, as long as reliability does not become an issue (I can't rate reliability yet, since I've only had it a week), VW will definitly be a contender with this one.

Here in Puerto Rico then VW company has a very hight rates in everything, but the local distributor (Autos Vega)that is the owner of VW Frinshise (Euroclass) have the new VW SUV at almost $ 68,000 and this makes it unbuyable for Puerto Rico VW Lovers.

The v8 has all the power you could want in a suv. The navigation system is really nice to have and works very well. I have never owned anything that gets so much attention on the road.

I stopped in the VW house just after the release of the T-egg just for curiosity. Frankly I did not expect much from a 4x4 VW. I was floored. It was love at first sight. The exterior lines are nicer than the Porsche and with the plush leather seats, real wood inlays and the brushed metal trim, It is on par with Cayanne's interior. This vehicle is loaded with cool features (I'm a gadget guy): This is the most I've enjoyed a new vehicle in many many years. More than my Land- Cruiser, LX470 and Navigator.

This vehicle is awesome. Its my first SUV, but I love it. It has everything you could imagine, the only extras we needed were to power seats!! I have been driving for about a month and love it more everyday. I have removed the headrests from the back seat because they are just in the way. Also, opening the hatch can be a pain, you must hold the button down for 3 seconds or it just doesnt respond. Its going to be a learning experience, the listing in the manuals wrong alot. Much of this to be expected with a first year of a car.

Compared to many others, the appearance caught my eye when shopping for a vehicle. Had planned to buy Toyota, but couldn't deal, and salesman was easy to talk to and arrange a deal when we bought both Touareg and Jetta for cash, no trade. Purchased both and drove home from Saskatoon to BC. Several recalls dealt with at Vernon VW, with staff there just the best! Hard on tires - 4th set at 112000 km! At 114000 both fuel pumps failed - go figure. Vernon VW replaced with goodwill partial warranty. Hope nothing else goes!

This is an awsome suv... It's very nice on fuel which I kinda expected from VW... I doubted alot about this vehicle prior to purchasing because it's VW's first take on an SUV in awhile and since I test drove it I knew it was mine! It impressed me, it didn't take it long to knock the doubts out of me...

I WAS AMAZED AT THE EASE AND COMFORT OF WHAT IS EXPECTED TO BE BIG AND AWKWARD. THIS LUXURY SUV RIDES LIKE A CAR AND IS EASY TO MANEUVER. STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOCUSES ON SAFETY AND PAMPERING. OPTIONS ALLOW FOR PERSONALIZATION OF USE. A GREAT VEHICLE...I MADE A GREAT CHOICE AND AM HAPPY THAT I DID.

Did extensive shopping to replace my 01 MDX. Shopped the XC90, Range Rover, X5 4.4, Cayenne S, FX series, ML500. The Touareg made the most sense to me, was the best value, and was the best looking of the bunch

Purchased a Toureg approximately 1 month ago and love it. No problems to date after 600 miles and continue to enjoy every minute in it. Pros: Interior Fantastic Love the exterior Perfect size Love that German Engineering - feels so solid Cons: Nav System a disappointment

I had looked at the Pilot, Four Runner, Highlander, and Murano. I had decided to buy a pilot, but was disappointed in the trade in value they gave me on my car. So, I test drove a Touareg. I was instantly sold. The interior is extremely well appointed and far excedes the others I looked at. It is much heavier, and you can tell it when you drive it. The dash is incredible at night. It is the nicest car I have ever owned and plan on driving it for many years.

The VW Touareg has to be the best SUV in the market. The navigation is excellent, the on road handling on par with the X5, and the offroad handling comparable to the Range Rover. Interior fit and finish is awesome.

My wife and I each buy or lease a new vehicle every three years and after driving; BMW,SAAB,NISSAN,LEXUS,DODGE, FORD,ISUZU and HONDA, this is the best thing we have ever driven. The Design, build, fit, finish and reliability is among the best of any brand we've owned. Rock solid, a pleasure to drive and yes, we also get more comments, questions and compliments on the Touareg than on anything else we have owned because VW Managed to build something special in a world of boxes and "Me too" SUV's.
