Love the interior layout and all the tech and safety features. Very comfortable for family travel. Had an issue at first with the new transmission, but after a recall from VW and a software update all is well. Car drives, looks, and feels great!

After trying to convince my wife to get a CRV or Rav4 my wife really wanted the Tiguan. I didn’t drive it untill about 3 months into our ownership when we went on vacation. Our trip consisted of about 1500 miles of open desert and mountain driving and I was pleasantly surprised at how it drove but was even more so by the gas mileage. We averaged 33.2 mpg for the entire trip. Comfort wise it was great. I usually get back pain after a couple hours of driving and I was able to get comfortable and minimize my pain. It’s been almost a year of ownership and it still drives and looks new.

Excellent motor. Stylish, comfortable, nicely drivable, and has a good presence.

I know I’m late to the game but my 2018 VWSE Tiguan started acting up just very recently. Although it is a nice looking rice, it gets a D-. I’ve had it for less than a year and there are too many things wrong with it. Seats are horribly uncomfortable and I can’t take it on long drives, due to the non-cushion seat. My CarPlay recently started disconnecting and doesn’t work most of the time.(I have tried other iPhones and usb cords and the dealer said, it was my iPhone causing the issue!!) Today while stopped at a res light, my whole engine cuts off and my car is telling me to shift to park and re-start?! Like what the hell. It’s done this twice. Anytime I need to make a quick turn, the Tiguan stalls and I have to push the gas pedal to the floor and it still won’t go! Driving slow in the parking lot causes the car to jerk and miss gear shifts sometimes. I’m starting to see the same thing happen with other Tiguan owners and it’s a shame.

Body/bumper worthless

I have never hit anything, the bumper doesn't have any type of visual scratches or damage but the clips to the bumper are broken. The car is only about a year old and they will not fix. Think twice about buying. When Tiguan was new I had an oil leak. Took to dealership and was "fixed". Three months later it was leaking oil again. I used to swear by VW and over the years have owned 5 and recommend them to everyone. Not sure I will ever buy one again.
