Automatic transmission feels like novice manual

Norberto Sanfiorenzo, 07/08/2021

Gear shifting 1 to 2, 2 to 3 feels like it is driven by novice driver. Car engages in wrong downshifting. Trouble started during third year. Company changed the battery, but trouble persisted. Car is slow to accelerate when passing a car. Otherwise, no trouble and good car.

Worst car I have EVER owned!

Within 1 month of owning the 2018 Tiguan things started going south....fast! It started with the reservoir for the washer fluid never holding the fluid. I have takes the car into the dealership 5x to have the issue fixed only for them to say there is not a leak. I know just stock up on washer fluid and refill every month. Next, within 6 months of owning the vehicle the brake rotors became warped! When I took it into the dealership the said it was my fault for either braking on a downhill when the rotors were too hot or getting the rotors wet when they were too hot and that caused the warping. What in the..... Next, the key fob on both keys is never recognized by the car when I get in. If I don’t lock, unlock and open the door and shut again I have to drive with an indicator yelling at me every 5 seconds that there is not a key in the car. Dealership said there is not a problem but I am welcome to buy a new fob for $300. Next, the tire sensor indicator is ALWAYS on! I have filled up all the tires including the spare and nothing changes! Dealership said I can buy all new tires....WTF???? And now the latest in the ongoing nightmare called this lemon of a car. On Saturday evening we had a snowstorm. Sunday afternoon my family and I got in our Tiguan to head out for a mountain adventure. I backed out of the driveway and the kids in the backseat stated laughing that it was raining in the car. There was water pouring out from the back area of the sunroof. I stopped to get gas and when we stared off from the gas station water started leaking from the area around the top of windshield by the light panel and dripping from the lights. Yep, this car is the best....NOT! Don’t even get me going on the dealership and service center. Absolute joke! Never returns calls! Never fixes a problem! Blames me for all said problems and tells me to pay more to fix said problems! I have called VW America to only have them give me the run around. It has gotten to the point I think I need to get a lawyer involved. VW is by far the worst car company I have ever dealt with! I highly recommend you do not purchase any of their cars!

Worst car with worst customer service

tahmoures, 11/12/2020

This is a high maintenance car and VW customer service is awful. I have had the car less than two years and it has had bunch of problem. Right out of the dealership its backup camera washer and rear windshield washer did not work. After about a year its automatic head lamp adjustment failed when I was driving in highway at night and it aimed the head lamps too low that I could not see anything on the road, and the dealership could not find the reason. After about a year and half its backup camera failed. After about two year its head lamp adjustment system once again facing problems and its head lamps aim to the sky. The dealership said some sensor arm is broken and it is not included in the warranty. Long story short, if you want make your life measurable and deal with a awful customer service, then I think any car from VW is a right choice specially the TIGUAN.

A little pricey but has a lot of high end features for middle road trim level.

Sudden Acceleration

New VW Tiguan upon entering Garage lurched forward with full speed to cause damage of $10k and destroyed the Garage wall to make a big hole in to cost over 8k and more as garage entrance door and garage opener pulleys were all messed up. Police Report due soon. If VW USA does not compensate it will be subject of litigation. I expect lease payments to cease from Nov 15 and an equivalent sized new SUV purchased. Sadly it seems the electronics of the Car failed to control the sudden surge in speed. Luckily no one was injured!
