VW Atlas - Champion of the North!
After 2.5 years, this SUV has proven herself admirably. We had at least a foot of snow last winter in one shot - really enjoyed powering through - effortlessly - and got to where we needed to go easily. The Atlas replaced a Sienna for 3 now adult children - they can move easily in and out of the full size third row seating. Spacious, flexible for moving them to school - and smooth quiet ride. Some noise in the suspension early on was remedied free of charge, no hassles. Firm heated seats, nice visibility (Dad is 6 foot 1, Mom is 5 foot 4 and both can see and drive comfortably.) Eco mode and a judicious driving style has kept fuel costs down. Cut down two trees, and trailered all no problem to the waste transfer site with easy (Sienna - no way!) Just a fine fine machine. Will own for years. Sport mode GROWLS! Plenty fast enough with tons of torque. Great touch screen, bright lights, nice thump when you close doors... and on and on and on. Love the storage bins left and right in trunk. Massive storage box driver's arm rest. Change bin left of steering wheel, big glove box... fuel door on curb side not in traffic! Solid build.

Atlas 2019
Best SUV for moms. 3rd row. Lots of leg room. Screens in rear passenger windows. Great gas mileage.
2 year review, pretty satisifed with Atlas S
I just sold my 2 year old Atlas S, to Carvana. I am happy to report that the car actually Appreciated. $3k more than I paid new. Would have kept it otherwise; I am looking for better fuel economy, suspect fuel prices will continue to rise. The Atlas has some strengths: 1. Roomy, even in 3rd row for small adults. 2. Reliable, no mechanical problems at all. Never had to use lengthy warranty. Never stranded. 3. Ride is quiet and smooth on nice roads. Cruised nicely at 75 mph. 4. Handled well, steering and braking above average. 5. Standard blind spot detection, rear side detection, android autoplay. 6. Decent fuel economy considering the size of the vehicle. 7. Paint, trim, interior held up well. Looked new after 2 years. Cons: 1. Super sluggish from start/take off, unless you use the manual shifting. 2. Jarring ride on rougher roads. 3. Black interior hard to keep clean/spotless 4. Terrible/awful backup camera/screen resolution. VGA quality, dim, poor resolution. 5. VW dealership is 50 miles from my house, had to get recall work done. 6. Got 2 stars on my windshield from gravel, don't know if could have been prevented, ?quality issue?, very expensive to replace windshield, I just lived with the stars after filling with crazy glue.
