2021 Chrysler Pacifica
We have ~1000 miles on our Pacifica Hybrid and are really happy that we bought it. The combination of space, fuel efficiency, and safety features are tough to beat. We were looking to buy a car with more space than our old hatchback but really wanted to avoid a big, gas guzzling SUV. The Pacifica Hybrid is perfect since we can plug it in every night so our daily errands are almost … completely gas free, but no range anxiety when we need to go on a longer trip.
All the standard safety features were a pleasant surprise. Most minivans are going to be used to haul people around, which can get distracting when there are 3 conversations happening in the back, so the blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance, are essential. And they are implemented well and are not too intrusive.
Everyone has their own taste but we have found that we really like the styling. It is a minivan after all, an it is easy for them to either look very boxy and dull, or try so hard to avoid looking like a boring minivan that they just look weird. The Pacifica avoids both of these traps.
Our complaints so far are mostly minor. The interior is ok. We bought the lowest trim that comes with black cloth, which feels like it will absorb crumbs and pet hair and be hard to vacuum. I guess this may be Chrysler's way of trying to bump customers into the nicer trim, but still a bit of a letdown. Of course there is tons of space and lots of thoughtful features (eg grocery bag hooks in the trunk area). However, we were expecting a few more cubbies and cupholders, especially in the rear seats, although I guess this means less places for the kids to hide half-eaten snacks. We've owned other hybrids and an electric car, and the dashboard on the Pacifica is not as well done as competitors'. On the Pacifica it is hard to easily see what the hybrid is doing.
But these are all minor complaints, especially when we are driving around getting 55+ mpg in a whisper quiet cabin. We can't wait for summer vacation season to start.
