Used 2020 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Consumer Reviews
Not Sure
I got my 2020 SR5 in July. I have had to take it back 4 times so far due to the jerking while in between gears. It is actually at the dealership now. I love the way the truck looks, the features and the comfort. I had wanted a tacoma forever and when I turned 40 I thought what the heck but now Im not so sure. I hope they can fix it but if not I will have make a decision on what I will do next So they said the jerking can be normal, I have also talked to several others and they said their trucks do it too. What I don't like is there is a loud knocking noise coming from the drivers side that is super embarrassing especially at a drive thru. I have had it at the dealership since the second day I had it with the noise and they told me it was the fuel injection but the last time I had it serviced it was the oil pressure. I plan on talking to the service manager when I go back because apparently their not sure what they are talking about.

Sporty Truck!
A great mid size truck for those that don't really need the off road capabilities! However, the four wheel drive will allow for some off road...............

No power V6, Shifty Transmission
Let me preface this review with, I have owned five second generation 4x4, V6 Tacoma’s. They were all five star, the 4.0 V6 and transmission was like a sports car compared to my 2020 4x4 V6. There is no low end power or torque for the first two or three seconds and the transmission hunts for the correct gears. There is a TSB out for these issues and I’ve had the update installed, it DID NOT help. You better not pull out and think you have enough power to beat on coming traffic. Once you get going, if you floor it, you will get up to speed, but it’s pathetic compared to the previous model. This model doesn’t steer as sporty as previous model either, has a large truck feel and tends to float a little at highway speeds. The steering wheel is too big to grip comfortably and the interior layout changes are irritating. I will not buy another one unless they fix the v6 and transmission issues.
