I’ve had my 2019 Tacoma for a year now and already the fuel pump has gone, the transmission is horrible it always Boggs down when I give it gas and doesn’t seem to shift smoothly. Various noises like loose plastic that’s loose in the interior. My 2006 Tacoma was a way better truck all around with no issues and drove so much better. Wish I never got this truck

Why is it a tall order to have longer seat bottoms

I think it's a much better value than the ZR2. I love the snorkel. The highway ride is fantastic - but the brakes at high speed are a little twitchy. I loved the car so much - that I didn't notice how SHORT the seat bottoms are. I'm 6'1' with a 34 inseam, but it seemed my thigh was just hanging off the chair. Other than that = GREAT truck!

Don't love it...don't hate it.

First time Tacoma owner. Hard ride. The seats are TERRIBLE. Can't get in the truck easily without smacking your head and I had to buy a high dollar seat cushion because it was like sitting on a cement bench. Cannot adjust the seats up or down...more like a cheap rental car seat adjustment. Looks nice, powerful and gets you out of tight spots so...it's OK. Would not buy again.

First truck was a Toyota and I used it to commute daily from D.C. area to Baltimore and back. Put a cap on it and gas mileage increased dramatically. Increase in family caused me to replace it. Owned numerous other Toyotas all without any problems or incidents. After replacing them with other brands or types of vehicles normally regretted doing so. Such was the case with my last car. The Toyota dealership I choose has very good pricing excellent sales personnel outstanding service and even a lifetime power train service warranty. I've purchased four vehicles from them and enjoyed them. Well most of them. My wife took two of them. We drive frequently and over long distances. Being adventurous we've learned to appreciate the benefits of trucks. This SR5 fits us perfectly. Well that is after adding a tonneau cover and steps. I don't foresee making the same past mistakes. In fact I bought her vehicle first so that I can now keep mine. Toyotas aren't the most fancy don't have the latest widgets and may not be the most stylish. But if you need a solid reliable dependable vehicle that you can get in and know it will take you across the country. At any time the spur of the moment and with no concerns it is for you. I know I've done so. Also in our travels around the world we see them everywhere. Not the case with what we see here. Why, reliability economy and ease of repair. I'm glad they are now made in the USA.

It’s a truck after all

2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4dr Double Cab 4WD 5.0 ft. SB (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

I rented a 2019 TRD off-road four-wheel-drive truck last week. I am not quite as critical as many of the reviewer’s but maybe it’s because what I am used to? I own a 1985 Toyota four-wheel-drive pick up. It is my only vehicle and daily driver Having said that, I did find a couple of issues with the new generation Tacoma. The transmission hunting did not bother me all that much. Although it was shifting a lot, it was so smooth I often had to watch the tachometer to even know it was happening. My biggest complaint was the brakes. The modulation was horrible. You barely touch them and the nose dives. You start to let off in the release is just as abrupt. My only other disappointment was the short bed. If I buy a Tacoma, I will definitely get one with the longer 6 foot bed. My old Toyota has a 6 foot bed and it is just barely long enough add I use it almost every single day. That is the reason I own a pick up in the first place The other reason I want truck is the driving conditions where I live. I live in Alaska and I use the four-wheel-drive function on the truck. Off road capability is important to me
