I have owned 4 Toyota trucks and 4-Runners. The Tacoma is by far the best. the new 4.0 V-6 has more than enough power even with two dirtbikes, full gear and four passangers. I love to beat the sport compact cars with it. The locking rear diff. works as well as I had hoped it would. The six disc changer and sound system works well with a variety of music. Gas mileage is not so great. I hope it improves with mileage. The six speed trans needs a little break-in time. over all, it really turns heads. Fun to drive!

This model should sell well for Toyota! I bought this truck to replace an aging '95 Montero.

One word sums it up the best...AWSOME! The powertrain...to the handling...build quaulity is just superior to any other trucks out there. I used to be a Nissan truck guy (a very devoted Nissan fan in fact) so don't think that I'm a salesman for Toyota and gloating the X Runner. This is a Good SOLID sport truck and I would recomend it to anyone who want an alternative to the SRT10 Ram.

We traded in our 2000 Tacoma on the new 2005. The differences are dramatic. Larger & more comfortable cabin – particularly the new seats are very much appreciated. The ride is much improved, even with the TRD pkg. The rear doors are a big improvement. The new 6-cylinder engine really gets out and moves this truck. It’s too new to give much info on fuel economy, but on paper it gets nearly the same as our 2000 Pre-runner w/a 4 cylinder. The one thing that I do miss is the “grab handle above the passenger’s door. It’s a very sharp looking truck !!

I love the new dash, the new bed is really nice, no need to buy a bed liner. I'm already getting 17 mpg city driving, it can only get better. Warms up in the matter of minutes. Can't lock my keys in it, the doors won't lock with the key in the ignition. I love it, rides really smooth. Feels like I'm in a car.
