The twin turbo v6 paired with the hybrid makes great power. Beautiful car and made with the great quality you've come to know and love with Toyota.

The Fun Beast

Missy, 09/11/2024
2024 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 10A)

I've been a Jeep/Ram lover for many yrs. I needed a large vehicle to haul grandkids so it was time to trade in my 2020 Ram Laramie. Naturally I gravitated towards the Wagoneer, but I wanted to see what else was out there. I drove the 2024 Sequoia Platinum and fell in love. Unlike it's competition, it was more fun to drive, had loads of tech and turnes on a dime. I like the fact that it fits into my short garage and has a lot of power for such a big beast.

Awesome SUV ‘24 Sequoia Capstone

SNYDLEY WHIPLASH , 03/23/2025
2024 Toyota Sequoia Capstone 4dr SUV 4WD (3.4L 6cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 10A)

2024 Toyota Sequoia Capstone is a great SUV. Some of the reviewers must be false or mistaken in my accords… The seats are extremely comfortable, we only use first and second row typically. The cargo area works great with the shelf system and the seats fold down for more room. The shelf makes it flat. Works good for what I do. The power of this hybrid engine is specifically designed for performance as Toyota indicated .. not for pure mileage , but more for towing and performance and it proves to be true. I mostly use it in town to shop/church/cart kids to events and just drive sometimes.. a 5100 mile average of city driving I got 19.4 MPG in the city. Not bad at all. The highway I can’t confirm without a good size trip to prove numbers. But it seems to be about 21-23.4 mpg I like a large trip to prove not just a single tank. Power and acceleration is excellent. So far I have had no major issues of any kind, knock on wood with the way the world is lately… visibility / lane assistance / the large infotainment / camera system / adaptive cruise / all are excellent . The handling / cornering is really good for a large SUV. The ride is not as bad as the other reviewers say. I’ve had many SUV’s. The Sequoia may be a firmer ride but you also need a firmer ride when towing up to 9500lbs as rated. The ride I prefer to be a bit more firm. It feels more confident on the road and less affected by side winds when the suspension is firmer. A soft fluffy ride like some SUVs have won’t feel confident on windy days or pulling heavy trailers. If persons reviewing complain of road or tire noise , I don’t know what they are talking about…. Mine is pretty darn quiet compared to other SUVs I have. My 22 Toyota Highlander is the only one quieter though…. That year of Highlander is honed to perfection… Tires do make a huge difference in many ways including traction and sound and some have changed them early I have read. I will say the Capstone model is expensive but I don’t regret the purchase at all. Sharp looks and great performance . Myself and my family love going places in it. So comfortable ! I have spoke to 2 others in my town and they love theirs too , no issues at all. One person I spoke to said she took he family on 2 long trips from Wisconsin to Colorado with no issues. Super happy and so much power in the mountains and high altitude with the hybrid/twin turbo system it was a dream to take out there and back. She also stated the mileage was what the sticker said. About 21-22 MPG average she claimed … take it for what it’s worth I guess. Test drive everything you can before committing to a such an expensive investment is my best advise and do what is best for you, good luck with your choice… I love mine !

Don't listen to the whiners

We've owned this car for about a month now and can say that the issues could people complain about are ridiculous. The third row folds down and with the gear shelf you get the flat trunk space just like other full-size SUVs. It's going to hold its value, it gets great gas mileage for the size and power. Drives great, looks great. My only gripe is the cost .Very happy with and should last for many miles to come. Stop complaining about the third row, and use the gear shelf like you're supposed to.
