I wanted to replace my Lexus LS430 with a vehicle with same comfort, horsepower, and luxury. I found it all and more in the 2014 Toyota Sequoia platinum. I have a 2000 4runner, 1984 Toyota pickup and trader my 2006 Lexus ls430, I know first hand what Toyota quality is. The Sequoia platinum is nothing short of amazing. I love the road manners are excellent, and the comfort is pure luxury. We are truly happy to have the Sequoia as our luxury/travel vehicle.

Love my Sequoia. Purchased used with 60k miles. Best purchase had everything I needed and some. Pulls my Rockwood trailer like it's not even there.

Agree with most reviews about the initial quality of vehicle. However, I have now had two major repairs in under 100k miles and all in past year. First was $3800 for seals on engine. Second is $4900 for ride level control and steering issue. Also still need to fix interior trim that essentially melted on driver door interior panel. Finally will need to replace most the rubber on windows and grill. This isn't including standard maintenance. This vehicle is used in urban environment. Toyota dealerships performed repairs. Will be selling before the truly awesome Ford Extended Warranty expires. I had hoped to keep this vehicle for at least 10 years based on Toyota reliability but now too risky without an extended warranty especially at the prices on the vehicle - still paying on car don't expect to be paying a year of payments on repairs. It seats 7 adults comfortable. Update: Now at 106k miles. No additional repairs. Still drives tight. Still get compliments on look and interior. Most think newer vehicle and are surprise when say 6 years old and 100k miles.

Best Large SUV out there

I really love this truck. It is a beast. 0-60 mph in about 6.6 seconds. How many SUV this size can really move that fast? I have owned many trucks. From small suv to my last truck. A 2003 GMC Yukon. The Sequoia is the best truck I have owned. It is responsive and has excellent turning radius at low speed for its size. The brakes are unbelievable. My old Yukon's brakes were terrible. This Suv is perfect for my needs. Which includes storage space for my job. And towing trailers and my boat. The front seats are very comfortable. And all my passengers love the captain chairs in the back. People never fight for shotgun because of the nice seats in the back. Has it really been 4 years since I've purchased this truck? The Sequoia has been nothing short of remarkable since I've owned it. Got into a bad accident a year ago. An older gentleman slammed into me. While I was stopped at a red light. Badly damaged the driver side exterior and took out the side mirrors. Thankfully I was not hurt at all. So A plus for safety in that department. Trucks runs like new. The only issue I had was a computer software problem involving Sequoias and Tundra. When it got colder than 30 degrees the truck did not want to start. Took it to the dealership twice. And finally had the issue resolved. Besides that. No maitence costs! I owned GMC and Ford trucks in the past. Something would break every 3 or 4 months. It is so nice to own a truck that runs fine after 4 years of ownership.
