Worth a shot
This vehicle is one of the best (if not the best) full size three row SUV's. There's nothing really like this SUV. I've driven this vehicle everywhere throughout the country. I've taken it from the Midwest to the Pacific and back. Throughout the trips/journeys I've taken (and in general), it has always been comfortable, spacious, powerful/capable and reliable. It has NEVER had any major problems and has NEVER stranded me. As time goes on, my Sequoia will gain a lot more miles, but It'll stay the reliable workhorse I know it for. You can't say the same thing for an Escalade or a Navigator. Those are good SUV's but you do worry about reliability. They're great in the short term but questionable in long term ownership. The way I've maintained my Sequoia since 2008 can also be a reason why this is still around. I even use 87 octane (regular fuel) in this and it runs like brand new. Just doing normal maintenance keeps your cars ever lasting long. I would recommend this over any other three row full size SUV. Despite having the SR5, it's has held up strong and reliable.

Fabulous Family Whip/Ride
We owned this car for over five years and it was awesome. The ride is amazingly comfortable, the car is solid and beyond reliable. We kept ours regularly maintained and NEVER experienced any issues.

Love it
I wanted a large SUV I could pack full of stuff including the kids for long trips. About a year ago when I heard the Sequoia was going to be redesigned for this year I held off my purchase and decided to see what the 08 had to offer. Im glad I did because I absolutely love it. In fact the whole family does. Ive already taken it on a 1200 mile road trip and it was a joy to drive (as much as a 19 hour dive can be with two kids). We were able to load up the back with the 3rd row down and there was still room for the kids to sit in the second row. There was even enough room between the car seats for my wife to sit between them when needed.
Excelllence
Wonderful car. We might end up with two in the garage. Big and spacious for my four kids. My wife said the other day she is afraid to step on full throttle because it seems it might go on its rear wheels; it's fast. It's quiet, visibility is great, and very comfortable to drive, even long distances. I've never driven all the way from Phoenix to L.A. without my wife helping part of the way, but last June, I did, both to and from. Haven't had any problems so far, however, I have a small rattle on the moon-roof which disappears when I go to the dealership. Don't keep your eyes on the gas-gauge though, you might be disappointed, but I expected it when I bought the car. All in all, I love it.
Room for Improvement
We live in a very rural area on dirt roads. We were amazed at how this vehicle allows the dust to come in. The rattles in the car are very irritating. The bluetooth does NOT work. The person on the other end says that it sounds like you are in a tunnel and cannot hear. Toyota cannot fix the problems! The towing is amazing which is the only reason I am keeping the car. You pay 52000 for a car, you expect a little more - not dust and rattles.
