Is the Toyota Rav4 perfect no. Does it check most of the boxes yes. I just picked it up 7/19/24. I did have 2021 Rav4 LE AWD, this one seems to be nicer. The ride and noise seem to be better. The engine noise is just a temporary thing. The seats could be a little longer and softer. I bought this SUV because of the non turbo and non- hybrid and ease of use of the controls. I like the safety sense features. Most important it's reliability. I drive over 20,000 mile a year. Since 2016 I have own 4 Toyotas and 1 Buick. I had 2022 Camary I traded in for this as I missed the SUV. I did my research on many other vehicles that were competitors. I think the engine and tranny are solid. Maintenance will not break the bank. I plan to spend more time on the road and less time in the shop. Finally, this is not a race car and I have no issue on the highway.

Smoky
It is smaller then my Edge but has all the fun gadgets of my Edge. The Rav 4 had better gas mileage & handles great. The a/c works great & my traveling buddy Honey loves the back seat.

I LOVE My RAV4
Regardless of what the experts have to say, my RAV4 is everything I want. I test drove quite a few new vehicles by different makers and afterwards, the RAV4 was the winner for me. Feels solid compared to some competitors. Smoother ride than some others, and I prefer it's styling over many others. No disappointments for me owning a RAV4

Disappointing rental
We rented a 2025 Toyota Rav4. It fulfilled the transportation job but I wouldn’t buy one. Power is underwhelming, passing has to be thought carefully as even asking for full power returns mostly noise and little extra acceleration. The transmission shifts frequently, trying to match the low torque availability with the road needs - even the slightest slope leads to successive downshifts, sometimes ending in a screaming engine. There seems to be a tradeoff between cargo and passenger space. I couldn’t find a tire pressure monitor, maybe there’s one well hidden in the somewhat clumsy software. Never attempt to tune the radio while driving. It’s a tedious process if not selecting a preset. Overall the car does the job but it falls short in important areas.
