Reliable commuter, Lackluster driver.
In early 2022, I was the proud owner/driver of a 2010 Honda Ridgeline with 236,000 miles and going strong. As higher and higher gas prices drained my wallet, I searched for a used Toyota Prius. Found a 2011 Three w/Nav for $9500 with 150,000 miles. Vehicle had new tires already installed and inspection 5/22. Drove it for a year without a single problem as of 06/23/2023. Averaging around 58 mpg during warm weather months. Around 50 mpg during colder months. PROS: low maintenance, efficient, fairly quiet cabin, decent NAV and sound system, keyless entry and start button, cargo area is spacious, small trunk in back under cargo area. CONS: lifeless driving experience and seats are extremely uncomfortable (I purchased seat covers that helped). Dangerous in wintry weather. Never felt comfortable. Thought the car could get stuck in just an inch or two. Luckily 2022/2023 was light on snow. Engine power is adequate, but highway drivers may not be satisfied. The Prius is a reliable car that won't break the bank at the pump, but I wonder if the gas efficiency makes up for the uncomfortable seats, general anxiety during winter weather driving, and lifeless driving experience. Gas mileage suffered somewhat during highway driving. The Prius doesn't like speeds over 60-65 mph. Reliable commuter (Except in wintry weather), Lackluster driver.

great car from a great car company
The Prius is the lowest cost to own vehicle on the road. I have only spent money on maintenance items (oil, wiper blades, tires). The car runs like a charm. I have it serviced at the dealership where I bought it.

The most amazing car I have ever owned!
I bought the 2011 model II Prius this January and each day I love it a little more. Perhaps the on-board computer is a bit enthusiastic but I average between 53 and 56 MPG(!) The car attracts a LOT of attention because I'm constantly being quizzed by family, friends, and associates. In parking lots complete strangers are very curious and interested. My first test ride hooked me. The car has been manufactured for going on 10 years now and the build quality seems first rate. The Prius is quiet, smooth and very refined. Is it a "big little car" or a "little big car?" It's ingenius the way it accommodates 4 people or cargo.
Well made and reliable
Purchased new as a leftover in 2012 and now have 90,000 miles- some recalls, but all handled by local Toyota dealer. Never left stranded. Not great in snow, but great gas mileage, practical hatchback design. Valuable small car comfort, room, excellent design and engineering, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'! Highly recommended, best design up until the newest version in 2024, which IS the most beautiful!
