Used 2004 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
prius number 1
Pick-you my 2004 Prius from the dealer and headed for Harvard College,Ma. The Prius got good mileage first tank went 332 miles. The trip computer is a must get it talks to you and tell with to beeps to turn, a real life saver. After 8 hours on the trip the seats are still great. And very little road noise.
First Prius 2004
Less than 500 miles thus far. First Average milage 46.5 per gallon. Like the Matrix the exterior design takes getting used to, but it grows on you. People are very interested in the hybrid engine system and Toyota has a good thing incorporating hybrids in their other models. I have had GM cars, Acura,VW's and rented Fords,Chryslers, but Toyota dependability is tops. Resale value or trade in values stink!

Love Our 04 Prius!
I always rely heavily on Customer Reviews on the Edmunds website when purchasing cars. However, this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review of my own. Unfortunately your site won't take my 400 word review because it repeatedly states that it's over 700 words. I saved the review so you can let me know when you get the problem fixed and I'll submit it.
Dealership-Car. 100% Delight!
So here's the deal. From day 1 I was told 6 months wait list. Not true. LESS THAN 2 WEEKS from deposit to driving off the lot. The car is amazing, everyone at work is AMAZED... Even my 85 year old grandfather was acting like a 10 year old kid with a thousand questions. AND, I can get from Los Angeles to Seattle on less than 2 tanks of gas that will cost me less than $40 TOTAL!!! If you have questions but dealerships scare you, email me. I will be happy to help in any way I can. (SERIOUSLY!) :) This is an absolutely BRILLIANT automobile I think everyone should test drive when considering a new car.
Unexpected Problems
I purchased a Prius sight unseen on Sept 29, 2004. I was told by my dealership, that my exact spec'ed car they would be able to tell me when I would get the car in early October. In mid-November I called and the tune had changed...maybe they'd know by Feb 2004. In January they called me...I had a shot at a Prius..not the one I wanted...or I might have to wait half a year more. It was a trac car with 730 miles..they gave me 15 cents a mile, and I had to pay MSRP. Also, because I live in a small market repairs may be a problem (only 1 other prius sold by this dealer). You relly have to want his car to put up with what is going down.
