The Corona Will Never Die!
This vehicle astounds me! It just won't die! It's the little engine that truly could and does go on and on. Bought this car from me ma with less than 100k miles, and just rolled over to 200k. Her paint and interior is the color of champagne, hence the name Corona. At first, was not fond of this car mainly due to the laskluster color, but she wiggled her way into my heart with how dependable and trustworthy she is. Always made the 3k oil changes which am thoroughly convinced why she's still running. Just a few minor repairs here and there throughout the years until finally hitting 190k, and decided to fork out $4 grand, 'cause she's simply worth it. Still no engine issues, tranny running strong, and predict many more years to come. I've joked that when I finally have to move on to my next vehicle, I will bury The Corona with a proper memorial service. Hands down the most reliable car I have ever driven. Thanks, Corona.

A Great Car
I have been looking to buy a new car for some time now but nothing shows the reliability that the 1996 corolla does. My car has almost 170,000 miles on it and it has never broken down. Have replaced brakes and tires from wear and tear but that is it. I don't even change the oil as often as I probably should but the car is a champ. Pick-up isn't the best and it's very loud (vibrations/rattles/outside noise). No special features, no power options. But in the end probably the best 3000 dollars spent. Plan on driving it until it can't drive any longer.

"The People's Car" of the '90s
This has been a wonderful car to own & maintain; my wife bought it new when she was in college, and I got it after we married. It's "the little import that could"; I have over 160K mi. on it, have used it 'in ways the designers never intended' (truck, off-road vehicle, long-range transport), and it *just keeps running*. I am able to squeeze 36 MPG combined with thrifty road habits. The body has its scars from the parking lot and highway rubble, but I don't abuse the drivetrain or suspension, and give fluids as recommended. I love this little guy; he's a loyal, modest and well-mannered steed. I will likely drive this car until it is killed in a wreck/earthquake (CA resident, of course).
7 years, 200,000+ kms, <$1000 in repairs
I have had this car for 7 years and over 200,000 kms. In all that time i had to replace a clutch, a waterpump, and the front exhaust pipe for a total of under $1000 in unscehduled maintence which in way better than any other car I have had or know of. I had this car since my early 20's and drove it very hard the first few years, never broke a thing. Car still gets close to 40 mpg on the highway. The 5-speed gives the car a lot more umph especially off the line and highway passing. I will drive this car until it dies which at the rate it has been going so far will be years down the road. Best investment i have ever made.
reliability with economy with quality
Toyota is probably the best car you can buy for the money you spend. I have the 1.8 liter engine in my Corolla. It give me good performance with good economy. My Corolla hardly ever needs anything done to it. It is the most reliable car I have ever owned. It sure beats the American car I previously owned
