Engine start up-high reving (1700 rpm)
Very high reving engine (1700 rpm) upon startup for 1 to 2 minutes before it settles down..Very enoying and Toyota cannot fix due to smog issues. Soooooo enoying that I would not buy again.

Fun to drive
Love the 8 speed transmission. Shift like a manual transmission! Engine brakes on downhills. Smooth ride, engine feels a lot stronger than my last Camry. Smaller tank but i’m getting 450 miles and still have a 1/4 left. The old coin holder is way better. now it’s made of cheap plastic that it feels like breaking every time I’m opening it! Rear speakers are mounted on doors. Alexa is moody only works 60% of the time apple carplay works 70% of the time. Pros Quiet ride Good fuel economy Dynamic cruise control Cons Remote only works around 10 ft i have the previous camry and it works100ft+ No rear seat Usb They forgot to angle the driver side wiper arm! You can’t raise the driver side wiper it will hit the hood! Drl uses the headlight When that LED LIGHT BURNS OUT$$$ After 6 months of driving 8k miles love the car! The transmission acts and shift like manual! People that are complaining about transmission hunting should learn how to control the throttle! If you hit the gas and let go it will shift to next higher gear it’s designed to shift up if you let go of the gas fuel saving. Same when I drive manual for fuel savings I shift at 3k rpm. If you want to hold gear hold that gas to 4-5k just let go a little it will shift up to the next gear if you punch the gas it will downshift. Hope that helps. 1 full tank i can easily get 500 miles Only get 4 ⭐️ for the non replaceable headlight and using Drl headlight! If that burns out 1k to replace and the drivers wiper blabe still annoys me that I can’t raise it! 1 engineer was sleeping and forgot all other Camry’s drivers side wiper can be raised!

2020 Camry
Upgraded from an older Camry model. Good for gas mileage and commuter car. Nice looking, good mid size car.
Goodbye Toyota Sedans
Just test drove an LE AWD, it was sheer sadness. I am looking for an actual not a cross or suv etc and with AWD. So on the paper and YouTube videos looked and functioned perfect. Car dealership, Andy Mohr Toyota Avon Indiana, abject sadness, one female one male bubba behind ticket counters, salespeople aka gophers dangling around. Mind you I am a self selling buyer. Anyways, before I touch my butt I changed my mind about it, terminally. Wife drove it around 10 mins, I measure the noise in this crap as 86 db on black top, at 55 miles. Zero insulation, few strategically placed soft plastic, every inch of the interior screams bad and careless manufacturing, a 1998 Suzuki prolly used thicker hard plastics. Ah also you should check the door seals too, so thin, so cheaply made. Other top reviewer states the unresponsive gear, I agree 100 percent. Perhaps Toyota decided to build this for Ubers and rental fleets. Sticking fake grills, cool sporty appearance packages cannot salvage this crap. Avoid at all costs.

Solid First Impression
Stuck with domestic vehicles before and this time around it was between a Toyota or Honda. Do not like the internal Honda styling, looks too much like an upgraded Kia. The suspension is a bit stiff on the SE but it was designed for a sportier feel but it's not unpleasant, steering is smooth and responsive. The ride does give a somewhat high end ride feel. The four cylinder engine as more than enough power for its weight and gear shifting is smooth. Cruise control does let the speed creep up going down a steep hill so it looses some points there. Seats are comfortable but if you are over 6 feet roof height might become an issue. Being lower to the ground might cause issue with people who have bad backs or problems bending. Big loss of points goes to not having an anchor point incase the car gets stuck, waiting for a tow truck is not always economical or an option. Some cheaper cars have a point where a hook can be screwed in so a normal 4x4 can pull it out. Command start is not available and that is another negative aspect of the car. Over all I think it is a solid car, dealership reputation and esthetic appeal is the difference between this and the Honda as far as I am concerned.

Awesome car for the money
I bought this car because it's a great value. I pick the Camry over a Honda because I didn't want the short lived CVT automatic transmission. Another reason I picked a Camry is it has an engine timing chain instead of a belt. I buy cars when I need them and I expect them to last with minimal repairs. Toyota has never disappointed me.

Uncomfortable.
We have had many toyotas over the years with each seat getting more uncomfortable. Any time over an hour in the car, and both of our backs hurt. Terrible for long drives. The engine noise is quite distracting when you accelerate quickly. Rear window is small.

Not a good car
Update, car was still a steaming pile so I traded it in. The Acura I got is 100times better quality. Good riddance! This car disappoints in Soo many ways. The car rides terribly. Vibration, engine noise, wind noise . It all is really bad. I have a 2021 Camry SE and it does nothing well at all. I had an older 2009 Camry that was fantastic! This car doesn't even come close. The seats are stiff, very little padding and uncomfortable. Everything is cheap plastic inside this car. It is really bad. Such a disappointment. I bought this car for reliability and the engine will probably go 200k miles but it will be 200k miles of completely lack of any good driving experience. I always knew Camrys we're more like appliances to get you from point A to point B, but this car makes you regret every mile you drive. I had the infamous battery drain several times. Time will tell if the software update fixed it. This car does nothing well. Get something else!

So far so good - Comfortable quiet ride
I've only had this car for about a week now, but so far so good. Quiet, comfortable ride, with enough power for most driving tasks (around town and highway). Obviously, the Camry is no sports car so it's not the fastest thing out there, but it's good reliable transportation (at least based on previous generations of the Camry and the Toyota brand). Would recommend this to anyone with a family or that wants a lot of space for carrying things or people. The trunk space and extra rear seat space is what sold me on the Camry (that and it has a regular automatic transmission with gears--and not a CVT like the Corolla--so it should last a long time if you take care of it--change the fluid regularly). Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. I will have to get used to the features of the car (the buttons on the steering wheel and audio system) but that is true with any new car/brand.

Sporty XSE with AWD
Recently traded in Honda Accord for 2020 Toyota Camry XSE with AWD. I just found out that the Camry was released with AWD in March but because of the dealership being closed with the virus there was no opportunity to look at the new Camry. Got the Silver with the Panoramic roof and could not be more happy. I have gotten many compliments on the looks of this car. Gas mileage is averaging 37 on the highway which is real good for AWD. Pickup is pretty good and you have the option of sport mode or normal, with 205 HP in AWD the car has enough power for a DD. Also you get the Toyota remote apps for starting the car, locking and unlocking the doors, emergency calls and tracking of the vehicle and read outs on gas mileage, tire pressure and more on your cell phone which supports Apple and Android systems. Could not be more happy at this time and look for many years of driving pleasure with this car as I put on over 100 miles a day I need a car make for all season driving.

Good but the beloved 2020 TRD costs $31,000
I am a Mechanical Engineering project manager and owned several Toyota Camry's, starting with a 2003 when I was in college at 21. I also previously drove a 2019 and currently own a 2015 Camry LE with only 60,000 miles. As a Navy Veteran a rep from Toyota, in their US branch, let me test drive for six months the TRD model and write a review. Since I can't write the full report I will write what i like and what I dislike the pro's and con's. The first pro that is noticeable is the 2.5 L engine comes with TRD-Tuned Suspension, like in other models. The mid sized sedan, in the TRD has a nice sportier look. The Cons Compared to the Camry LE-the gas mileage is good but not great. I like the upgraded 3.5 L engine, seems like it has more power than the previous generations however, I still will put it in the good but not great category. I average the speed limit in Las Vegas and in So Cal and you get 21/31 city highway, compared to the more gas friendly LE model, which will get you an improved 28/39 MPG city highway. The price tag is also alarming, without any upgrades, it will set you back $31,000, compared to the LE, which is reasonably priced at $25,000, a $6,000 jump in the price tag is significant. Caveat, keep in mind this is without any upgrades or paying for registration in your state. At that price, I can get a good used Luxury Lexus ES 350, the luxury model of this car, and put in the same 87 gas. With a price tag of over $35,000, one can easily purchase a luxury mid sized sedan, slightly used say 2-3 years at 30-45000 miles max, for the same price. If Lexus/Toyota is not your cup of tea, other luxury model sedans to consider, for American Lincoln MKZ/Contenital, Cadillac CTS/XTS. Believe it or not, you can find a nice lexus ES 350 or a BMW 5 series only a few years used for the same price as a new Camry TRD. With a few of their upgrades, such as rims, protective paint, Toyota Camry floor mats, and a few more, the price tag can bump up to to over $35,000. For $31,000 as is, even with a few discounts, if you are a vet they give $1500, which will almost take care of registration, one can find a luxury mid sized or sports sedan for that price tag. Design-I will say that this is neural, for once Camry has a passing design but again for more luxury and upgraded features in the interior, you are going to feel the pinch in your wallet and that $31,000 price tag will creep to +35,000. For $35,000 you can find a very good slightly used, luxury mid sized sedan, SUV, diesel truck etc.

2020 Camry XSE 2.5
Me and my wife absolutely love this car! Plenty of power from the 4 cylinder, aggressive styling, love the huge moonroof, and extremely good fuel mileage. Tested highway at 44 mpg at 80 mph. Best Camry built to date! Well done Toyota!
Amazing
2020 xse awd. Absolutely amazing. Very sleek, sporty but yet Lexus comfortable. Great fit and finish. I have managed 44 miles to the gallon with mine. Zero problems. Great job Toyota.

Electrical issue
Since purchasing this car brand new in April 2020 I've had five electrical issues. At 6 weeks the battery died and had to get it jump started; in October 2023 the battery died and after getting it jump started had to buy a new battery; in July 2024, had to replace the alternator and the battery, a d Dec 2024 had to jump the battery again. The master window button on the driver's side does not work for the front passenger window. Received no help from Toyota.

Very Nice Car
I have the 2020 Camry XSE model and it's a nice upgrade over the 2018 Camry SE that I previously owned. It's fully loaded and it is a beautiful vehicle that is fun to drive as it handles well and even gets pretty good fuel mileage. It's not the fastest car out there, which is fine with me since I'm not a speed demon anyway. When it gets up to speed on the highway it becomes deceptively quick (keep your eye on the speedometer as this car wants to run when you get it on the highway) and handles curves like a pro. Acceleration from a complete stop is a little slower than expected and it doesn't like when you stomp on the gas when the light turns green, but you can manage that pretty easily as you adjust to the car. It's not the car for everyone, but it's extremely reliable, fuel efficient, and has good interior room and it's controls are very well laid out, the seats (both front seats are powered) are very comfortable. The infotainment package is an improvement over the 2018 version, but it could still be a little better just the same. It's great for city driving and it's no slouch on long drives as well. I recommend this vehicle.

Average
I’ve got a 2020 Camry LE and I have never had a car with such thin sheet metal, flimsy mirrors and pour design. Every time I go through the car wash it scratches the lower passenger front side near the tires. I’ve tried several car washes and they call scratch and scuff the lowest front fender. (Poor design). Seats suck…back breakers. Mirrors fla in car wash. I will never buy Toyota again.

DCM Software- THEY DONT TELL YOU WHEN YOU BUY
I woke up to a brand-new car that would not start after only having it for 3 months. The battery was dead. I was told that the DCM software needed to be updated and that many Toyotas were having the same issue. The outdated software was keeping the computer on and draining the battery. I have not had the issue since then. It did give Toyota a bad reputation in my eyes. How could they know the software needed to be updated and not take care of that before selling it?

I have a 2020 Camry and I have had no problems with my car. Please be advise that all car brand have lemons. Out of millions cars made, some go have problems. The car warranty should help iron out any problems in new car.
Nice car but slow acceleration

6 cyl makes it worth it
I test drove the 4cyl camry and couldn't do it, although the price was right, there just was not enough power and the engine felt and sounded strained. When I test drove the highly confident 6 cyl, XSE, the deal was done. Sure, it's costly, but the car has looks, comfort, decent steering (in sport mode), heft, cameras, and a fairly quiet interior under 65 miles per hour. Yes, it has issues, the dash squeaks and rattles like never before and the battery dies if it sits un-driven for 3 full days (3 times this has happened). Lucky for me I own a TackLife portable car jump starter, which I keep in the car... works like a champ in about 2 mins. Other than that, considering the features above with the refined V6 power, (I hate to say it but) I'm satisfied. Update 8/23/2023 - Car now has 19K miles and is still going strong. Although I haven't been putting a lot of mileage on it, I just put 4 new michelin tires on it and had the battery replaced by Toyota (84 month warranty). Battery replacement is a great value at Toyota (something like $225 installed). The dash still rattles, but I haven't had any other issues. All the electronics are working and the car still drives like a smooth big car. I'm still enjoying it and increased the overall rating from 3 to 4 stars. For non-BMW and Mercedes clients, this is a quality car for the money. The value factor is high. It still looks sporty and I plan to continue owning it for at least 3 more years. Absolutely no regrets. UPDATE: No complaints. Once I got the rattles out of the dash, its been smooth sailing. Having a 6 cylinder, the car is fast when I need it to be and smooth when just cruising. I literally have not had any issues with this vehicle. I had a flat tire, so I just put a new set of michelins on it and the camry is floating like a dream again. Also had toyota put a new battery in the car (it was time) and it was very inexpensive with either a 7 or 8 year warranty, it escapes me at the moment. I'm just loving this car now. The seats are still very comfortable with heat and ventilation and surprisingly the audio system is holding up very well, it still sounds fantastic! I was thinking of trading it in for a Tesla earlier, but for now I just don't believe that is the way to go since gas prices are so low here in Texas. My plan is to hold on to this beautiful, reliable car for at least another 3 years.

Battery Issue and Seat Belt Sensor Issue
Finally Toyota put an AWD on a Camry so I bought it. As I have a 2000 Tundra I don't drive the Camry daily and it sits, and when it had less than 1,000 miles the "immobilizer" made car seem like dead battery. I'm trying now to drive it often so it doesn't sit for more than 2-3 days. Also, seat belt sensor alarms about 5% of the time I drive off with my seat belt fastened, a problem my Toyota dealer knows about but hasn't acknowledged except to say they know others have complained but it hasn't been fixed. If you keep driving it the alarm gets louder and then incessant; if you stop and power off the entire car and wait a second and then power it back up it seems to fix the problem itself as if the computer needs a re-boot. Dealer won't yet replace the seat belt sensor but I've got another appointment to get them to try to fix the problem. Everything else about the car works fine. Now 16 months after purchase the Camry is working great: no more "immobilizer" issues though I don't drive it much (as I have the Tundra also), and the seat-belt sensor issue has gotten less sensitive so it doesn't alarm for every little briefcase I put on the front seat like it did when new. I still don't like all the audible alarms which I'd like to turn off: it alarms when the car is started and turned off, it alarms when the temp dips to 37 degrees, it alarms in about two more instances. When the car was new I asked the dealer mechanic how to turn off the audible alarms and he found online how to do it for 2019 and older Camry's but not for the 2020 so hopefully someone will figure that out soon and potentially new firmware or software will be installed so I can turn off the multiple audible signals; I don't think I'll ever get used to so many noises but as the car otherwise now seems to operate flawlessly like my Toyotas in the past operated I'll wait for the fixes. I do miss the days when new cars had no computers and this 2020 car has about 1,000 computers (literally) to work the anti-lock brakes, the stability controls, the temperature monitoring controls, the tire air-pressure controls, and so forth and so on. Which in my opinion is 1,000 failure points, but alas it is working now very well.

2020 Camry, the " Battery Drainer"
I waited years to be able to buy a Camry but it's turned from my dream car to a nightmare, mostly because of a crooked dealer. I bought it on July 18, 2020 and on April 2021,I tried to start it and the battery was dead. I jumped it and it started but a couple days later, after being parked and turned off for several hours, I heard the problem. There was a small motor hum in the rear which sounded like the electric fuel pump running. There was a bulletin on the computer which said it needed a firmware upgrade (EL1934 on my repair sheet) so I took it back to the dealer and they supposedly fixed it. Since I was afraid it may not actually be fixed and was going on vacation, I bought a new battery charger which I can charge and carry in the trunk. Well, yesterday, Feb. 8, 2022, after being parked for six hours, I happened to hear it again. Same sound, same location. If I hadn't went back out, I'm certain my battery would have been dead again today. On my 10K check-up, they didn't top off my fluids, didn't replace the cabin air filter, refused to fix the rear wheel well covers which had come loose and rubbed off on the tires, and said they replaced a back-up light that I told them was out which I never told them. When I bought the car, they promised me 2.95% interest but the next day, while going over the paperwork, I saw they charged me 3.44%. Why? Because that brought the price up to within less than a dollar of what I told them I could afford to pay per month. So, the question becomes, where do we take our vehicles for service that can be trusted? My 20K service is due soon and I will do it myself. What good is a warranty if you can't trust the dealership?

Everyday Classic
My 2020 Toyota Camry SE AWD was a great purchase for me in Colorado where the AWD is necessary for safe driving through the winters. I replaced a twin-turbo 3-series Bimmer due to fears of high repair costs, and while the Camry is not "the ultimate driving machine" it's impossible to really have an ultimate driving experience in metro Denver; I do get to the open mountain roads in it often and the 4-cylinder 203 hp engine rocks! While I mostly drive my 24-year-old Toyota Tundra pickup truck in the snow, the AWD Camry does well in snow. I don't have much criticism of this vehicle, except for the audible warnings: I wish I could turn off the beeps and bells that somehow need to alert me that I've turned the car off and have opened the driver's door, that I cannot stop when my passenger doesn't put on her seat belt soon enough, and especially the Brake Warning light and sound that alarms when the car thinks I'm going to hit something in front of me as it is overly sensitive and it doesn't see when I come up on a stopped car where an exit lane has opened up and I can easily exit at 45mph (and it scares me it's so loud). The only other solid, large-sized sedan that compares is the Nissan Altima AWD, though Nissans are not known for being as reliable (and also their Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) are known for problems since the Muranos), and of course there are AWD luxury brands but those are significantly more expensive and their repair bills are similarly inflated. My plan is to drive this Camry in 2044 and also to be driving my then 48-year-old Tundra.

Electrical issues
I bought my brand new 2020 Camry in April 2020. The beginning of June 2020, I was parked for 4 days at a car lot near the airport. On my return, when I got to my car, it would not start. Luckily the car lot was able to jump the battery. Nothing was left on. In Oct 2023, my car would not start so I could not get to work. A neighbor came over and used his portable battery jump and got me going. Again, nothing was left on. I drove directly to an auto parts store who tested the battery and stated it was very low voltage. Had to purchase a new battery. On July 3, 2024, my car would not start, a jump did not work, so I had it towed to an auto repair shop. I was told the battery was totally dead from the bad alternator. I had to replace a fairly new battery and the alternator. This is unacceptable for a vehicle that is only four years old. My previous Camry that I had for 12 years never had to have a new alternator installed. Would give zero stars if allowed.

Pleasant Mid-Sized Car
I have had my Camry SE for 2.5 years now and have, overall, have enjoyed it. The ride is very smooth. Even in the SE trim it seems to be more geared to comfort than handling. It really does a nice job of absorbing the beat up Wisconsin roads. Cornering is average at best. It is better since my recent tire change, but it is far from sporty. I have the 4 cylinder engine. The car accelerates okay, but it is not at all quick. Economy is good and it really pays off if you don't accelerate hard from a stop. For me, there is not enough benefit stepping on the gas from a stop to make it worth wasting the gas, but that is okay. I am a big guy and find the seats to be quote comfortable, it is one of the highlights of the car. The major downsides are the engine noise when accelerating and road noise. It is really noticeable and is the reason I wish there was a 3.5 star rating. I like the looks of the car. Mine is a nightshade edition and is white. I think the car looks great from the outside, but understand those who think otherwise. The front end is polarizing. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.and plan on enjoying mine for the next two plus years.

Better than my 2018 Camry SE
I recently purchased a 2020 Camry XLE AWD after I lost my 20 RAV4 to a careless driver. AWD is not a must for me, but after test driving this well maintained car I fell in love. This is my 4th Camry(really miss my 2015), but comparing this to my 2018 model brand new it feels more solid on the road not to mention all the bells and whistles. The mpg kinda sucks in the city compared to the SE because of it’s AWD but the comfort level is closer to a previous Lexus I owned. No complaints this far after putting 1200 miles on it so far.

Camry XLE... Starts and runs flawlessly
I like a car that gives you excellent you reliability. Safety is rated five Star+ Plus which is the highest rating you can get. This car has been stellar in that area. It has all the safety features. I really love the Intelligent clearance Sonar with Rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking. You can be in a parking lot trapped between two big trucks and put it in reverse and it will tell you if anything is near or approaching without you seeing it.. if you continue to back up a red light will come in the dash warning you and if you do not break it will stop for you to avoid a collision. It does the same way sideways on all the corners and shows the diagram on the dash of the areas you are getting too close to objects. Just one of the many safety features. Also if you are in traffic and you follow too close it will warn you as well and stop you before you hit the car in case it breaks hard in front of you. It's the 2.5 4 cylinder engine with 8-speed transmission non-hybrid and I get up to 48.2 miles per gallon on the highway. On interstate driving you can reach speeds of 100 mph and barely tell the car is moving. I have had this car 2.5 years and have never had an issue or a reason to carry it in for any type of adjustments.

Some pros but too many negatives
Was excited to get my 3rd Camry XLE w/more safety features, but here's what I don't like: 1)too low body in front; too easy to scrape paint on concrete parking barriers or curbs 2) too easy to turn seat warmers on w/knuckles when opening center storage console 3) can't reach/open glove compartment (or just BARELY) from driver seat (remove seat belt, lean WAY over and maybe you can open it but not what's in it!) 4) angled bottle holder in door is ONLY useful for bottles w/caps. When I have water or soad in one console holder & phone holder in another, where do I put my coffee? 5) Android auto never works the same. lots of problems bringing up directions; on phone to show on car (or visa versa; can't figure it out). Phone connected and trying to activate map on screen (of where I am!) keeps showing error about navigation app not downloaded. 6) Huge "power" dial/circle on left side of driver screen wastes too much space just to have an equal shape to the speedometer on the right side. 7) XLE model (but w/out moonroof) so I get NO light on the visor mirror? even for the driver? 8) NO directional letter: W, S, E, N on rearview mirror OR anywhere I can find even when android auto is working! :( 9) finding and understanding all the new safety features is quite confusing and requires a LOT of study of the manual while in the car 7) NO USB plugs conveniently located for backseat passenger device charging w/out lifting center console and plugging in there....which isn't reachable from the back seat AND driver should not be trying to do it while driving. Sheesh. Such common sense to just put the USB ports in the back of the console reachable by backseat passenters.
