I traded in my Saturn for this brand new Solara. I never really was intrested in Toyota but in a new Honda Accord which was way over priced! Being 20 I wanted a sporty car that also looked more "grown up". Then I saw the new Solara and I fell in love. I test drove one and then ordered mine. I cannot find one flaw in the car. And the best part everyone thinks it's the Lexus Coupe!

I originally wanted an Acura TSX. I test drove the Solara with the hope that I wouldn’t like it and be forced to get the Ac. Much to my surprise, I absolutely fell in love with it. A 2.4L-4cyl. manual with a kick. The interior is rather spacious, especially in the back, and the materials and layout are on point. I’ve put 1860 miles on it in only 2.5 weeks with never an uncomfortable moment. The sport edition’s aggressive stance looks like nothing else on the road. It fits my lifestyle…young, fun, and corporate. People can’t help but stop, stare, and compliment…and I just love driving it.

I can say that when I first went looking for a replacement for my Bonneville I had no intention of looking at a Solara. I'm young, only 23, so I have my sports car in the garage, but I need a daily driver. I go into the Lexus dealership to look over an IS300. I chat with the dealer for a second, then he mentions the Solara. I took it for a spin, came back and took it home. The design is flawless, and the quality used is excellent. Overall, I would say this is the best way to get the quality and style that everyone looks for in a BMW, but not the price tag associated with it.

I just recently purchased the Solara Sport SE V6, and i think it is a great car. It handles well, and doesn't sacrifice ride quality, as tends to happen with sport suspension packages. The price is right too, you get a great car for your money.

We did a research on Midsize sedan for close to two years and we finally decided to get a Camry XLE V6. Went to the dealer, test drove an '04 Camry SE V6, an '03 Camry XLE V6 and during negotiation we saw the '04 Solara at the first time (in the dealer hall). We were mesmerized and immediately made an emotional decision, test drove it and bought it instead of the "grandpa" camry. It was a good deal too, SLE V6 fully loaded (non-nav) only $26,000 (1.5% above invoice). It was a steal! It was a showstopper too since everybody in the dealer watch as the car made its way out of the hallway. Salesman was very polite and not pushy at all (unlike next door Honda dealer).

I really like the car-I have had Hondas, BMWs and Maximas, and I think the Solara is the best of the cars that I have owned. I was thinking of buying a Honda V6 coupe, but when I saw the new Solara and drove it, I felt that it was a better looking and more comfortable car than the Honda.

Owning a Solara SLE is like driving a dream car! This is so close to having a Lexus, you can taste it. It was love at first sight, & it's great having one of the first ones in Omaha. I used to draw cars as a teenager, so can appreciate the curvaceous lines of this sculptural work of art. The interior is glamorous, sleek, and invitingly perfect! Driving the automatic with the upshifting/downshifting capabilities is just so much fun, especially in city stop & go traffic. It makes me feel like a kid again! I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Great car. 2nd Solara I have owned (1999) and the quality continues. Ordered with optioinal Nav system which is impressive and works very well. Also ordered with Satellite radion option which dealer thought would come with the Nav system. Was quite a project to get Satellite radio installed after the car was delivered without it!! Car rides well and is very quiet.

I had first driven a 2002 solara... and immediately fell in love with it. That was when i decided to get a solara as my first car. But in 2004, when i started looking for cars, i did not want to get the Solara, only because of the 2002's looks... this changed as soon as i saw the new 2004 solara.. i went for a test drive and did not waste any time getting it!! Its been almost an year, and it is a great car... no problems at all. All my friends now envy my Solara. Its got great interiors, and a great performance.. specially the V6. I would strongly recommend the Solara.

We bought the Solara after checking cars and prices for about 3 weeks. It is a rocket to drive and very comfortable. The v-6 has plenty of power and we love the dual shift option.Plus the quality of workmanship shows too this car is solid and rides better than the Lincoln Continental we also have.

Test drive the Solara! That's all it took! There are very few negatives about this car! I bought the SE with the V-6 (I added the moonroof and comfort package.) The Solara has the comfortable, classy feel, combined with sporty looks and tons of power. The shift positions of the Automatic/manual overide takes some getting used to. I'm not sure how well the plastic light covers will hold up....the salesman swore by them. The worse problem I have is there is a large blind spot behind the car (with my seat down low, I can not see for more than 10 feet behind...even with the mirrors!) CarMax and Autobytel were the best prices.

SLE V6 w/DVD nav.The build quality is unparalleled. The car is just solid, smooth, refined to incredibly high standards. The interior feels comfortable and stylish, all controls are intuitive and in the right place. Sounds like a 325i when you punch it. Took it on a four day road trip the fist day I got the keys. Exterior is stylish, but not dated. A truly worthwhile machine.

I have owned this "absolutely red" Solara for about 3 weeks, and find it a joy to drive. Good roads, or bad; good weather or bad; night or day this is a wonderful car! We have had ice and snow at times, and this vehicle is a real champion with the wide tires, anti- lock brakes, and traction control. The fit and finish is first class, and the gray leather seats looks great with the gray dashboard and red exterior.

Fun to drive. I had a Red Flame metalic 99' Solara and had such good luck with it I bought another! This one is Arctic Frost Pearl with grey leather. Looks good in day or night. I have 1000 miles on it now with only 1 problem that the dealer fixed, a hose connector had come undone and caused the engine light to come on. Really like the in dash CD changer and heated seats

Just came out of a Lexus IS300. I was thinking of getting the Honda Accord coupe until I saw a picture of the Solara in a car magazine. When I saw it in person, I just had to get one, especially in the amazing red color! It looks like the SC430 from the back but is much more roomy and a lot less expensive. I think that it is the most comfortable car I've ever had. I love it!

Learning that the new Solara was a new model and built in America kind of worried me.I said to myself what could go wrong? It's a Toyota and it's new. I bought mine at Toyota North Hollywood and after 400 miles on it, there was a problem with the car's allignment.I took it back to the dealer and it took them the whole day to find out that it's "toe" went out.Whatever that means.I had to take it back next day early in the morning to have them disassembled the car and fix whatever the problem they stated. The service manager even stated that it's a first year model and one should expect problems.

This is a true drivers car, the second you sit down, you feel right at home, everything is where it should be and the seats are comfortable. The car handles smoothly and there is a bit of understeer, which is a good thing in a front wheel drive car. A interesting character of the car is the size, it is considerd a midsize coupe, and feels just like one. I give the car almost a 10/10 in every catagory, please do yourself a favor and seriosly suggest getting one. P.S. Please E-Mail me if you have any questoins.

The V6 Solara SLE handles like a dream. This car is very sporty and powerful. I found that my car gets great gas mileage, however, filling it up intitially isn't cheap because the car has an 18 gallon tank. But, it is well worth it because you can ride forever once you fill it up. Everything in the car is driver friendly. The radio/cd controls are placed within easy reach of the driver and the stereo system is nice. Also, although the Solara is a 2 door car, don't be fooled because it has a full backseat that can accomodate 3 average size adults.

I bought this new in 2004. It's reliable and I've never had any major problems with it, except cosmetically. The paint scratches very easily and the interior plastic panels came loose multiple times and I had to take it to several dealers before they fixed it for good. I wish for the money the car had a more quality interior. Mileage is excellent. The tire pressure monitor is way too sensitive and I wish it told you the pressure- sometimes it goes off it there is too much air in the tire, but you have to check the tires BEFORE adding air for this reason. The snow guard or whatever under the car came loose a few times when other people drove my car and the driver seat can come loose.

There really isn't anything that I don't like about the car. The only problem I have had is a paint chip on the hood of the car, didn't think that should have happened, but the winter weather takes its toll on cars. Dealership is great to deal with and the performance of the car is good. I love driving it!

What a well-designed car...safety and security are well thought out, windows and sunroof can be closed after the key is removed (up to 43 seconds later) and a satellite radio built in! It's a quiet, smooth riding car with a sporty look, not the boxy sedan of the four-door Camry. Service is minimal (120K spark plug change, oil changes recommended every 5,000 miles), fit and finish are outstanding, a great personal car. I am enjoying the driving experience as much as any car I have ever had.

However, recently the check engine light came on,the temperture guage stop working and the car failed to start. It also pulls to the left as a previous reviewer had mentioned,BUT its still awesome to me. I still recommend it. The acceleration was what sold me. My car is all black.

Bottom line, 04 Solara is the best sporty coupe for the money. It beats out Maxima, Accord, Mazda 6, and Chrysler 300M and 300C to come. The design has a flowing continuity from front to rear no other car can match. The interior is as impeccable as the lunar mist finish is flawless. The drive is tight in curves and as quiet and smooth as many much larger luxury cars. Although not a race car, by any means, this vehicle with the Lexus 6 and a gated shifter can still widen some eyes. The people spending more on Lexus and Infinity are not doing so and getting better cars than this -- but don't tell them this!

I was considering the two door Accord until I saw and drove the Solara. Standard features on the SE Sport far exceed those on the Accord. Daytime running lights, larger brakes and fuel tank, more head, leg and hip room than Accord. Anti-theft system is optional but found on most models. 17" alloy wheels with tire pressure monitor are standard on Sport models. (Read the manual on resetting the pressure monitor!) The sequential shift automatic 5 speed transmission is an excellent compromise for guys whose wives prefer an automatic. The Toyota warranty is 5 years, with *everything* covered the first year. Honda includes a 3 year warranty.

I traded in a 2000 SLE V6. This car had the same sticker as the 2000 did but comes with many more features that were only found on the Lexis back then. This car is smooth, quiet, comfortable, powerful and fun to drive.

I purchased this car with several issues at hand, quallity, reliablity, comfort, and able to fit the "kids" in. But yet still have a sporty look. Well, this car far exceeds my wants and needs. For this single mom, this is a great pic. Hands down!!
