Used 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid Consumer Reviews
New Hybrid owner
I bought one of the first Camry hybrids sold in my area. I have owned many cars, including two porsche 911's, and have never been happier about a car. I was not expecting to be excited about this car, I bought it to try to do my part for the environment/oil shortage. I am now excited. It's handling is exceptional, the mileage is better than advertised, it is well made and quiet. We traveled over 600 miles on our first 14 gallon tank of gas, and I am told the mileage will get better. Finally, and I never expected this of a Camry, we are getting much complimentary attention on this car, even having strangers come up as we fill or park the car.
Very Nice
What a nice car. Excellent gas mileage. Very smooth and quiet ride. Roomy, excellent stereo and control access. Great A/C, comfortable seats, and $2,600 Federal tax credit. cannot beat it.

Nearing perfection
I bought the car for commuting about 120 miles per day. The car has performed flawlessly. It has consistently gotten about 37 MPG driving at 70 to 80 MPH up down a mountain pass (climb is about 2500 feet). The car has surprising power (passing on the mountain uphills is no problem). The car is fun to drive and handles well. And, it constantly reminds you to conserve in driving by having an "MPG" gauge instead of an RPM gauge and by having the dash board display a deeper blue the better you are with gas. If you want a car that is comfortable and fun, gives great gas mileage, has room for more than one person, has plenty of power, chose this one.
Transition from performance to economy
Replaced a 2002 Acura TL Type S, went from fast driving to a more relaxed pace. Hybrid has made this transition easy. While responsiveness and acceleration is less, overall performance is on par. I drive a little slower, don't take the passing lane as often, but end up arriving in the same amount of time, but feeling more relaxed and having used way less gas. I still routinely hit 80 MPH, but try to keep it lower, while averaging about 38-39 MPG. Interior is comfortable and very quiet. Handling is a little soft, but adequate. No major complaints: steering wheel is too narrow and hard to grip for long periods, rear visibility is difficult, brake pedal angle is to high.
Worth the upgrade
This car is worth the upgrade to Hybrid. I did not buy this car for its near zero emissions, the fuel economy was attractive but not the selling point. It is the extremely quiet ride and the performance between the regular 4 cyl and 6cyl is just right. The design and comfort of the interior are incredible with the standard Hybrid upgrades. Buy this car not only for its gas mileage, but for its solid quality, great looks, comfortable interior, and overall value. You will not be disappointed.
