Love My Truck!
I love my Truck! I went from a Honda CRV to a 4 Runner and the difference is huge. It is bigger inside and has lots more power. Would never go back to anything smaller again.
Stinkers
I have a problem with exhaust fumes getting into the car under heavy excelleration or when towing. All windows up. Both the dealer and Toyota confirmed it and said it is the gas outside of California and the car is performing to its standards and they can not do anything. It smells like rotten eggs. Toyota corporate said too bad but it is my problem. Also dont expect to see the dash guages with sun glasses on.

Great Truck
The 2004 4Runner is truly an excellent SUV. I've owned it for 5+ years, 88,000 miles and it has never required service for any problem. Mine has the V8 and it is AWD. It is really a perfect drive train combination. Handles well, comfortable, smooth ride and looks great. My only complaint is that the interior needs to be some design improvements and the GPS navigation could be a little better. See suggested improvements. This aside, I'd buy another one for sure. It is the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Great Truck with one issue
Excellent truck for the price, and all that Toyota quality. One outstanding issue is with the drivers seat. It seems to disengage itself from whatever position you locked it in. It's like a little click and it happens every time you accelerate or brake ie; motion makes this happen.
what a mistake
The vehicle with 8000 miles. 4 wheel drive has gone out. parts coming from japan. Brakes soft, master cylinder bad. Very bad smell from engine. Told its sulfur and nothing I can do. Horrible gas mileage,17 mpg.Started to rust on the back. Told it was rail dust. It seems no one knows what that is. We have had it. I am buying a Sequoia.
