Used 1999 Toyota 4Runner Consumer Reviews
Poor Performance, Nice Looks
The 4runner is an overall good SUV, but lacks the performance needed for some situations. If you are a car company and want to put an SUV in your line-up, make sure you compensate for the people that use it for highway use...in lain-man's terms, give it more balls.
My 99 4Runner LTD
I've had such good luck with my Runner that my friends are looking into the Toyota line. It runs tough and handles the roads in Charlotte like a champ. My fuel economy is average (17 mpg). My overall experience is excellent and I recommend this SUV to any one looking for a tough, reliable vehicle. Good luck shopping because they cost but well worth the money.

Overall Good SUV
I have owned this vehicle for over 1 1/2 years and overall it's very safe, reliable and dependable. I don't like that it has not much get up and go without taking a second to think about it first. Also, have had to replace rotors 2x now and working on the third. For some reason had strange wear on tires that were put on 9 mo ago and all rotors and tires need to be replaced again to feel stable. Had an accident in it and let me tell you, this is one SAFE car. I'm glad I trusted my life in this car. VERY safe in winter.
Bulletproof
Bought 7 years ago with 118k from a wholesaler. It now has 172k and still drives almost as good as new. Had to replace air conditioner at about 150k mi. for $1,000. The power antenna stopped working ($150 fix). The paint is very good, cloth interior is very durable, never any leak of any kind, I paid $9,500 for it 7 years ago and it's still worth $6-7k. Are you kidding me? When I detail it - it literally looks brand new. Decent gas mileage for an SUV, 17 hwy. Still got at least another 100k left in it. Best SUV ever built.
Still a great vehicle
I posted a review back in November of last year after owning my 4Runner for six months. It's been four months since and I have nothing new to say other than this is by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. I've owned it for ten months now and it still blows my mind at how well this thing was made. It's now seven years old with over 110k miles on it and everything is functioning fine. I love the 4Runner more and more each day. I got it for a really good price when I bought it and worry that I'll never find another deal like it on my next Toyota (which is what I'm sticking with). Those Japanese designers have their stuff together thats for sure.
