Is build quality really bad? Charging thoughts.
I have a 2021 Plaid with 13,000 miles on it. It had zero defects when delivered and, to my eyes, no noticeable panels gaps. A micrometer would probably find some but to the naked eye there were none. This is our fourth Tesla. When the service tech came to change the ac filters on my wife’s 3 (1st service after 4 years and 30,000 miles. Cost: $75) I mentioned the surprising build quality on my S. He said he’s seen few problems with them and he sees a lot of Teslas. On the issue of charging vs gas station fill up, folks should ask how often they drive more than 2-300 miles a day because that’s the only time you need to use a supercharger, at least if you have home charging. They should then think about all the fill ups they won’t need. For most folks it’s once a week. That’s 52 times a year you won’t be stopping for gas vs a few times a year you will need a longer stop to charge an EV.
Be prepared for a completely different car !!!
The Tesla Plaid at first is an amazing car filled with technology until you have owned it for a few months. You quickly realize that the "cool" features such as summon where the car will come to pick you up in a parking lot is not all that accurate and simply is lacking the ability to truly perform as needed. The speed is incredible, the lack of apple car play or andriod is annoying. The steering wheel is a complete piece of crap. I have had this car for over 1 year now and I still want to hit the center (airbag) to have the horn sound but nope not a thing.. you need to find the little horn button on the steering wheel and hit that and for sure during any emergency you are thinking let me find the smallest push button on the car so the horn works. The service center for Tesla is a complete -0- , you can't speak to anyone and when you do call you are directed to use the Tesla app to ask your questions. I had the safety restraint module replaced and it took 9 days and since this is a known problem and the appointment was made 2 weeks in advance the amount of time to service the car is completely unacceptable. Long story short is that I will NEVER support or purchase another Tesla vehicle in my life. The car does have some very nice features and again it is the fastest thing on the planet but all that does not make up for the lack of other features that most all other cars have and nor does it fix the crappy service from Tesla.

Bought A Lemon!
The quality of my model is is the worst of any car I have owned. The battery failed and had to be replaced as CRS. All the door handles failed and had to be replaced. The steering box failed and had to be replaced. The hood latches seize up when it’s cold. It’s deeply disappointing for me to have to write this as I was so excited about the car. The service department is virtually impossible to reach by phone. Don’t make the same mistake I did by buying a Tesla. It really is a lemon.
Cheap crap!
It looks good at first, but then you see how cheap the materials really are and how poorly assembled it is. And the mileage is total bs. You cannot come close unless driving downhill in moderate temperatures. Hard NO!

Quality??
Of course I bought it cuz it looks great, and you know the other + things (no gas!). BUT, the ANNOYING sound the center armrests make when constantly squeaking against the seats!? The web browser that works 1% of the time, the programmable garage door opener function that seems to get amnesia.. at this point I haven't reprogrammed it cuz, whats the point, I'm going to have to do it again in a month!! Last week my rear D side window fell down after hearing a loud POP sound, guess it's the regulator? The seat are uncomfortable if your driving for over an hour. The Nav. doesn't automatically orient to "North is up" (shouldn't this be a given?) seems like i have some headlights going out also. Seems to have a lot of issues for a car that has LESS moving parts & less heat issues that a gas vehicle! my trim along the sunroof is falling in, Tesla wanted $400 to fix ( F.U.Tesla!) at this point, I'd NEVER buy another!! I'd checkout what BMW, mercedes, Lexus, Volvo have to offer! #NoLongeraFan
