Very pleased with the purchase of our 2024 Subaru Outback. Very enjoyable experience with the dealership, Wagner Subaru, as well.

Great handling car with plenty of room
Outback premium. This car fits our needs just perfectly. We needed more room and a car that would drive well in winter conditions and dirt roads. We tow a small boat with the Outback and it does a good job. Also able to pack all our camping, fishing gear and the dog in the back. So far at just under 2K miles the car is averaging 32.8 MPG - that is actual calculation - combined around town and highway miles.

Change the throttle tip in software
I bought a 2024 Touring XT just five months ago. I like the car. But it has its quirks which can be annoying. Of course the infotainment system can be slow and distracting. Fuel economy is not all that it might be on short drives around town. But when I put my foot in it the car is surprisingly quick. There are features which I always either turn on (the Auto Vehicle Hold) or turn off (the forward braking) before I start to move away from the curb or driveway. The most annoying feature on the Outback is the "throttle tip in". That is probably a combination of the software and CVT. You have to give quite a bit "of gas" before the car starts to move--and then it lunges forward. Now if you are in a tight parallel parking place that's a problem--you can't go backwards or forwards slowly--and you need to do that. Another issue is the height of the rear seat headrests. I'm tall 6'5" and when the rear seat seats are up the headrests tend to block the vision in the rear view mirror. Since I'm usually alone in the car I keep the right rear passenger seat folded down--and the blocked vision problem is solved. Now I do have the digital rear view camera, and I suppose I could also solve the problem by turning that camera on and leaving the rear seats up. I've had the car almost a year now--have about 6,000 miles on it since I purchased in early 2024. I like the car, but still don't like that throttle tip in.

3rd Subaru and so far, the best!
I have had a 1988 Subaru DL 4-wheel drive wagon, a 10195 Subaru Lagacy AWD Wagon and now this Premium Outback. We got it with the option package # 15 which pretty much comes with everything but the leather seats with a lower price tag. So far, we are very happy with our Outback Premium, love the Pearl Crystal White color.
