Used 2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan Consumer Reviews
Nice Redesign
I am very happy with my purchase. As a 6ft 260+lb'er, I am able to fit comfortably. The vehicle glides down the road. Car is put together nice and tight-no squeaks or rattles, very quiet. Both the interior and exterior styling are excellent. The MPG is not even close to that listed on the window sticker, it's more like 18 city/22 hwy. Not being a turbo, from a stop, the car is not the fastest but at highway speed there is plenty of pedal in reserve. I constantly find myself excessively over the speed limit.
LOVE IT
This car replaced my 2001 legacy, I love my old Legacy for its dependability ,especially in the winter time. But this new one is a completely different car. Look at the Acura TSX first, but end up with this . The interior is so nice compared to the old model, and the exteror...The car look fast just sitting there. I have so much fun drving this car. Only bad thing is that I have to fight my wife every morning for it.
Excellent job but not flawless
Everything good has already been said. Irreplaceable problems include horrible sensitivity on key (goes off while in your pocket), the stuttering phenomena (when accelerating from low rpms), inability to replace deck, clutch stink syndrome for beginning mileage. These are minor quibbles however which you can easily get used to and overlook for the brilliance of things like performance, reliability, sleeper looks, elegant interior, and of course the AWD 250 HP Turbo setup. Definitely worth considering as a competitor to 3 series, A4, S40, 9-3, TSX, TL, etc. To me the decision was made not after looking at it but driving it; in terms of performance and joy of driving TSX is only competition.
Love my car
I live in Northern NY, snow covered curvy, mountainous roads. I love the way the car handles and brakes.
A great car for the money
I bought my LGT brand new almost 3 years ago, and I still think this car is one of the best kept secrets. I've had so many complements on its looks, and everyone is surprised when they hear it's a Subaru. The AWD gives you more confidence on the road, even though the stock allseason tires aren't the best. The black interior is nice, and the cloth seats have held up well for 40000 miles. It has great acceleration, even when it was stock, but there was noticeable turbo lag. The manual shifting on the auto is nice, but there is hesitation. Gas mileage could be better but you pay to play. Warranty repairs: driver seat heating elements coming through foam twice, O2 sensor, dash rattle (not fixed
