I had originally decided on the Mitsubishi Lancer, due to its selective AWD and its warranty. Upon making an appointment to purchase a Lancer I had a moment of second guessing and decided I would just go down to the local Subaru Dealer to look at some sticker prices. I found the sticker prices were the same for a Subaru Impreza Limited as it was going to be for a Lancer SE with more way more options installed on the Subaru. It also has an EPA rating of 7mpg more than the Mitsubishi. I went to the dealer a couple of days later to test drive the Impreza and was impressed by its features, handling, speed and build quality. Bought the undercoating and extended warranty, happy with my decision!

I bought a 2013 impreza 5spd since I cant afford a wrx or sti and while it lacks power I cant complain. It's a solid car, avg mpg I have had as low as 14.1 and as high as 35.6 according to digital read out. I tend to drive it like its a fully built sti wot and wrap out every gear...... On my way to work. It's great in the snow, turn traction control off and you feel like Tanner Faust. Its well ballanced and the pedals feel pretty good. (distance wise for heel toe in the snow clutch feels a little soft compared to the stage 2 and 3 clutches im used to) but its not a sports car. I love the fact my oil filter is on top of the motor for easy access and u dont have to remove any splash guards

Overall happy with purchase. Great for driving in snow. Responsive CVT. Handles very well at all speeds and while turning. Nice quality sound from stereo system . Good rear visibility compared to many cars these days. Car does sit too low to the ground, often scraping snow on streets with the undercarriage, and bumper scrapes while going up/down driveways. Hatch is a bit low on space, especially if using cargo cover. Fuel economy stated by manufacturer is overly optimistic. After owning this car for 3 yrs I would say I am still very satisfied with the way it handles in the snow. Definitely less shoveling than in a car without 4 wheel drive. The bluetooth is miserably bad though. Paint chips too easily. Inside of the car is rusting already at seatbelt anchors and seat anchors. This is partially due to snowy/salty winters here, but maybe the design can be improved? The heating only comes out the front of car, and on long trips rear seat passengers have their boots in ice and snow, it doesn't melt. Can't really fit 3 adults in back seat, in fact have a hard time fitting an adult and 2 kids.

I bought this car new and never had any problems. Until I became a delivery driver. The tires cannot handle potholes well. At all. I had to change 3 flat tires. But it was awesome in snow storms. I worked at Domino's and they never closed for ANY storm. The only problem I had was the "anti-lock" breaks. Which would actually lock all the time in snow. But I trusted that car in any storm. If I had not gotten into an accident with it, (totally my fault, not the car's) then I would still have it. I miss it.
