love this car
I love this car and the way it handles. As a matter of fact, because the roads around here are tough on the underside of a car, Ive decided to trade it in for a new one with some more features.

Massive Disappointment
Had the car for 8 years 100k Initially bought it for good reputation for reliability, safety, performance etc. 8 years later I must say the impreza was a let down. In terms of maintenance the boxer engine makes changing the sparkplugs cumbersome and costly. Local non dealership shop charged me $150 per sparkplug. $600. It also had numerous recalls more than I ever had with Honda and Toyota. The biggest problem was the floor near the pedal is sloped causing strain on my ankle and knee. This resulted in chronic ankle and leg pain. For a year I'd get massive pain in my feet to the point where I couldn't walk for days. It happened every 5-6 weeks. Only after shelter in place did I notice that not driving the impreza, was the major factor. I had not noticed that my foot ends in odd angles when I am driving and braking. The boxer engine causes the floor to be sloped from the center console at an almost 15-20 degree angle. So ask I put my heel on the floor past the slope my foot strains to push on the gas. The strain over time cause problems. Similar to carpal tunnel syndrome but for the foot and leg. Repetitive stress injury. Subaru actually cost me in lost work and productivity not to mention pain. As a result I will never buy from Subaru again.

Great car!
Good style and comfort especially for tall people (I'm 6'1"). Great pickup and braking and it feels safe. Not a sports car so don't start a race with a GTI. Car can drive on any surface without a problem even though it's a little low to the ground. Big trunk with the hatchback. Very reliable, bought the car used 8 months ago and I haven't had any issue.

My 2013 Impreza IMPRESSED after poor start.
I was uninspired when getting our 2013 Suburu mostly because it was low to the ground but also was very basic and bland with interior and entertainment. BUT this was an absolute GREAT car mileage and especially winter wise. It handled all winters very gracefully and was very happy with it. So much so that we have leased another 2016 recently and this one is really much nicer looking and feeling. The stereo system has improved dramatically and the rear back up system is nice BUT it really SHOULD have a navigation system- thats the only area the new one lacks. That should be included in all packages they offer! It looks sleeker than our prior car and the color a nice Jasmine Green is sharp and very cool looking along with the beige cloth interior. We remain very impressed and at this stage getting 27.3 MPH with about 18 in city. We love the car- yes wish it were higher off the ground and easier to get in and out of but overall a tremendous car and highly recommend!
