Used 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Limited PZEV 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
Strange idling
Everything about the car is just as claimed by Subaru. I had a strange situation happen to me twice not more than 2 months apart about 1 year ago but not since or before. I have owned the car for exactly 4 years now. What happened was; as I was driving the engine suddenly for no reason started to under rpm and I could not get the engine to rev higher no matter how far I pushed on the gas pedal. The car was restricted to going less than 15 mph; all the warning and indicator lights were coming on. I had to keep my foot with steady and hard pressure on the gas pedal or it seemed it would shut down. I pulled over and shut the engine down, waited 3 minutes and put some engine oil in (it was low about half a quart). Started the engine up and it was almost normal in operation. This happened again about 3-4 weeks later. I shut the engine off again and waited a few minutes and the problem subsided. I told the dealer and they told me the car would have to be diagnosed at $100 an hour. I still don't have a clue as to what the problem was.

Still love my Subaru Forester especially during the winter months. It is the best vehicle that I have owned.

Best Bang for the Buck
Did the PM (not always through the dealer) and kept records. Got top dollar for the car and and in almost 7 years of service and NO problems. Keep up the preventative maintenance and and you can get 15 years or more out of them.

The suv that's inexpensive to own
There's two problems with this suv. 1.The material of the interior seems cheap, not a good quality of leather.2. The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder has an oil consumption problem at 36000 mi the suv now has 57000 oil requires 1to 2 quarts added between 5000 mile oil changes. The dealership is useless in getting any documentation in this matter. They just wait you out till the warranty expires,so they're not responsible any longer.
