Used 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i PZEV 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
Fell Apart
just over 100K miles under 5 years the power steering went while driving, can only be fixed by the dealership $3400 to replace. Both control arms went weeks later $2500. Extremely disappointed!
It Grew On Me
I settled on the Subaru Forester mainly because of value for money. I drove an Escape for years and loved it, but they were a little pricey by the time I was in the market for another. I did some homework, liked the sound of a Subaru due to safety ratings, MPG and price. I was impressed with the first one I test drove, by the roominess, visibility, comfort and price. Notice price keeps coming up. The ride was smooth, not super quiet but for an AWD I liked it. After almost three years, I was seduced by a Cadillac XT5 at a car show, but can't bring myself to give up the Subie. Pros for Subie: Fuel economy, for those of you who think it's no good, remember this is an SUV with AWD. I get over 30MPG on average, and have gotten as much as 36 (but only when I'm forced to drive slowly behind someone I can't get around) on hilly back roads. The visibility is the best I've ever experienced, good view out the back, the rearview camera - while not high tech does a good job of showing what's behind me even in low light situations. Cargo room is good, I can fit my bike inside without having to take the wheel off. It's comfortable, and good driving position. What else impressed me was the finish, while not flashy it feels sturdy. Some cars just feel cheap and plastic (read flimsy) when I get in. Cons: a little too much road noise, and the styling is bland. It's not a bad looking SUV, and it doesn't make it go faster or ride better if it looks better, and that's what's more important to me. The sound system could be better. I am thoroughly sold on my Forester, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a solid, well made, reliable and safe small SUV. Update: still sold on the Fozz. I will look at the 2019 this year, also look at Acura and Infiniti but I need to drive those two to decide. As far as reading reviews, if I had to buy a new vehicle today I would get a Limited or Touring model Forester. Update to the update: still no regrets but I'm looking at a Mazda CX-5 with the turbo, since I now want a little more high end vehicle. Subaru is still a great vehicle, but I'd like more power.

Only looks like an SUV stay off the dirt roads
Noisy-yes, no automatic headlights, transmission shifting is not smooth from reverse to drive, very comfortable and safe. Automatic stopping works very well, especially for deer. 95 plus percent of driving was on paved highways. Needed to replace front brakes at 20,783 miles due to glazed rotors and pads having debris ground into surface. Seriously? It IS an SUV right? Of course, the ridiculously overpriced extended warranty did not cover this.

Very reliable Still think the same!
I needed something very reliable, easy to handle, good gas mileage and easy to get in and out of. This car is all that. I bought it new and have been very satisfied. UPDATE: I have been pleased with my Forester. It runs very well, and it is easy for me to get in and out of. Maintenance is reasonable and easily done. My only complaint is the clock. Over six months I lose about 10 minutes. When I try to change it, I can't. I only get the hour and not the minutes. Outside of this I am extremely pleased with my Subaru.

2015 Subaru Forester-good handling bad ac
I like the way the forester rides and handles. The awd is great in the rain. I got it for that and the safety rating. But the interior materials are not great. Several of the plastic pieces on the dash are fading or peeling. I have 64,000 miles and already on the 3rd set of tires. Not sure what that is from the geolanders it came with barely made it to 20k. Also air conditioning seems to have issues. It never blows as cold or not cold at all as my Honda or Jeep did. Dealer doesn’t seem to know either. Not pleased about the additional maintenance this needs either. 2019 definitely looks more promising with more features.
