Used 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i PZEV 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
not safe. intermit loss of power.
not safe: intermittent temporary loss of power up to 4 sec. service dept ran dx test & then refused to acknowledge the prob & stated the car is safe to drive.I refused to drive it and traded it in for a Honda CRV.there was recall & notice sent out a year later on a part that cracked & caused this.i was very disappointed in the car & how the dealer handled me. I would never buy a Subaru again. I was very disappointed in Subaru. FYI!:recently Subaru had recall for this problem!

Dangerous on snowy roads
This is my second Subaru, bought the 2015 because my older one was very good in the snow. The 2015 feels like a death trap. The least little bit of snow on the roads and the car slides all over the road leaving no control even at 30 miles and hour. The car isn't safe at all in the winter. Seems Subaru isn't on top of the game when it comes to safety when it comes to the North East winters. Don't feel I should have to buy new tires for a new car just to keep from crashing. Shame on Subaru.

Another great Forester
This is our second Forester, and we are very pleased. It is everything we wanted and expected it to be. We are getting about 22 MPG for real stop and go traffic, and about 31 or 32 for hops to the store or shopping - this is in-city, but not heavy, stop & go.
Roomy and reasonable - until CVT fails
The Forester is an easy car to drive. The vertical profile and windows give you lots of visibility for checking blind spots and maneuvering safely. You can fill the cargo bed with stuff, stand under the rear lift gate in the rain and not stoop (at 6'2") and stay dry. It isn't speedy on the take off. It isn't super comfortable in the seats. But it works. Until the CVT starts to go, at around 100,000 miles. And, just check the bulletin boards online for subaru forester. You'll see the problem. Dealer replaces the valve body? check. cost? At least $1400 USD parts+labor (no tax). Failure again in less than 3500 miles? check. Am I only the one seeing this pattern? nope. The fact this is a problem ACROSS model years in the Forester (and presumably in all the models using this same or similar CVT), suggests you should NOT buy the Subaru. A pity, as I've owned 3 in the past.

Don't know why people go Ga-Ga over this
Have had a Subaru 2015 for almost a year now. Not impressed. At best average. Small display screen, Busy display with not much info. Not much storage in rear cargo area, less than my previous Prius. Air Conditioning can not keep up with the Florida Heat. ABS light has just come on. Its less than a year old and I'm getting an ABS warning light? Inside front driver and passenger storage design is very poor (Subaru - See Toyota for how to design for inside storage). Interior looked good at first but after owning it I notice more and more how cheap it was made. My advise is take the high ratings for Subaru with a grain of salt. I'm going to take my ass kicking and trade it in for something else
