Great little SUV, good on gas and very reliable. Was looking at CX-5 and RAV 4 but decided to go with Forester because the best all wheel drive system.

Purchased my Forester new in May 2015. The ride is somewhat noisy and rigid. Bumps are felt. however, winter driving is great! Vehicle eats up the snow and rain. Interior and electronics were basic but its what I wanted. Over time, the bluetooth functioned irratically. I would often have to put my phone on the passenger seat to eliminate the static. Charging ports dont charge very fast. The Forester is not the greatest joy to drive but it gets the job done very well and is reliable. All I could ask for. Overall, a solid vehicle. I wouldnt hesitate to buy again!

Burns Oil

We bought our 2015 Subaru Forester and loved it at first. At about 30k miles it started burning oil. This continued to get worse and worse. We brought it to Subaru multiple times for the problem. It’s continued to burn more and more oil, but not quite enough for them to fix the problem. You need to do an oil consumption test. The tolerance is 10.5 ounces for 1200 miles driven. Last time we burned 10 ounces, so not quite enough. We decided to get rid of the car. The overall all experience was extremely frustrating.

A dispassionate assessment of the Subaru Forester

All in all a first rate trouble free automobile. Low cost routine maintenance and high gas mileage. Excellent acceleration despite mundane horsepower. Very good control in all weather conditions and on snow. Seats are comfortable and front seats are adjustable. Major issue is suspension system. It is not very forgiving on rough roads and tends to bounce occupants uncomfortably. Otherwise a wonderful car with few negatives. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Great for older, larger,taller people

If you are larger try the leather seats as they are much more comfortable, both my wife and I are large than average and own this same vehicle and felt the difference in the comfort v.s the cloth seats. Also the nav option is a total waste of money as it is difficult to read and use I ended up using my old Garmin it's easier to read and use. Also if you can get the duel climate control as it is much stronger especially the air conditioner than the singular digital version that I have. My wife has the duel and it is so much better we use hers in the summer.
