Love My xB

I just bought my Scion xB because I wanted better gas mileage than my 14 mpg SUV. I love the interior space and couldn't bear to buy a compact car. The exterior and interior design is great, and the xB is suprisingly quick from a stop. Second and third gear are a bit sluggish, but at cruising speed it will keep up with anything on the freeway. Its ride is very smooth and quiet. The A/C works great on mine, and I am in 115 degree heat in Palm Springs in the summer. The interior could use a few small tweaks, but is overall satisfactory. The low price makes the xB a fantastic value, and mine is getting around 32 mpg on 2/3 freeway and 1/3 city driving. I hope more accessories come out soon!

Best deal for the dollar!

Before purchasing my Scion xB I researched and test drove many automobiles (Saturn ION, Honda Civic, VW Beetle, etc.). I travel frequently with my job and was searching for a good looking, reliable car with great fuel economy. I must admit my Scion xB has exceeded all my expectations. Because Scion let me build my xB I got everything I wanted in a car for less than $17,500. Gas mileage: I currently get 29 mpg in town and 32 mpg on highway. Despite the fact the xB has a 1.5 litre engine it cruises comfortably at 75-85 mph. The interior room in this car is huge. Rear seats fold for extra storage space. Car has amazing head/leg room as well. I have friends over 6 feet tall who fit comfortably.

I needed to get something good on gas ($3 per/gallon was on the horizon). My Hemi powered Dodge 2500, while needed, is thirsty. Not to mention a bear to drive around town. I looked at several gas misers, but wanted something with more usefulness then past festivas. After test drives, and reading I bought an xB. It was an easy purchase, $20 filled the tank (although, sadly more is needed now!) and it's handles city driving like a roller skate!

A Great Runabout

This car replaced my beloved '95 Honda Accord Wagon which was wrecked, so I tend to compare it with the Accord. The xB excells in ease of entry/exit, price, fuel economy, head and legroom, cargo space when the rear seat isn't in use, 360 degree visibility, and ease of parking. On the down side, its engine performance is barely adequate, its ride quality is a little rough, it doesn't have much seat comfort, has a high noise level, and its handling in cross winds are tolerable but don't compare favorably with the Honda. In general, I like the Scion for local driving but miss the Accord for trips over 50 miles and cargo space with four people on board.

This is my first new car. I did not like it until I drove it, but then I knew right away that it was the car that I had to have. Unless you plan on drag racing, the engine gets the job done. The interior design is brilliant. The head room is amazing and the leg room in the front and rear is more than most SUVs. The rear seats fold flat to make room for cargo. The sound system is fantastic with the iPod aux hook up. The automatic was sluggish so I went with the manual. I get between 33-37 mpg depending on how much highway driving is done on each tank, much better than EPA estimates. For the price and standard features, this car is a steal.
