The Scion XA is perfect for young people wanting to buy a car independently and who drive a lot. I love this car because I drive too many miles a year. Its also compact enough to fit in those hard to get in parking spots. The price is cheap, the car is durable, the interior is roomy, its great on gas and insurance rates won't go up.

I put almost 30,000 on my Scion xA and have had no problems whatsoever. It is getting between 32-34 mpg driving in the city on regular gas. The only negative thing is that you need to let the engine warm-up, otherwise it will keep transmission in lower gear untill it reaches "warm" status.

Downsized from a Mini Van and thought I'd miss my Soccer Mom driving platform, but I don't. Bought Absolutely Red Edition and get many looks and positive comments. GoCart like handling, decent power, roomy interior despite initial impressions, excellent service at dealership. Buying experience wonderful. Decided on xA, went with the Toyota financing, drove away in just under 1.5 hours! Must admit, credit history very clean, but come on, I bought it over a long lunch! Will add the Keyless Entry in May. Love it and considering a 2nd Scion (Tc) this summer.

Wwnt to drive a Tacoma and a RAV4-came home with a xA. Was driving a Jeep Liberty that sucked-both in reliability and fuel. The experience of buying this car from Tim at Cavendar in San Antonio was first rate. It is such a fun car to drive-zippy! Solid as a rock. The a/c blows really nice and cold. The stereo has an incredible sound. The 17 yr old at home tells me it is a hit at his high school. Drove 80mph on the way home and there was no vibration. Trying to talk my F150 driving husband into a xB - we shall see!

I have owned my 2005 Scion XA for a month now and I still really love it. Its so cute and little. I constanly forget how small it is from the inside because its so roomy. But then I park and see how little it is. I am totally satisfied with my purchase. Its a really cool car for a good price.

Problems with the Scion xa model

Problems noted by consumers and reviewers. A/C not cold, Nose dive on hard stops, Wind nosie, Road nosie, No pick up. Now that I own a Scion here's my personal review. I previously drove a 95 toyota trecel with 133000 miles on it. For an economy car the xa has plenty of pick up. I can pass with ease, and get off the red light quick. A+ lots of pep. A/C they fixed that on the 2005 models. Hard stop dive. It is noticable if you slam the brakes down all the way to stop suddenly, but it is controlable and not worrisome. Nosie, wind is minimal even at 75 mph. Road, it could be a little better. Rough road = noise. This car is roomy, peppy, and a best buy in my book. A++ for it's class.

This car has been great to me. And I am great to it. The Gas cap cover cable went the first year and Toyota had to replace something in the motor under the warranty but other than those two things this car has been worth every cent I paid for it. I thought it was an excellent deal when I bought it too. Got a bunch of nice options for really not much cash extra that really improves the looks and performance. It's good in the snow with the right tires as long as you drive at a safe speed and it will get up and go when I need it to. I love this car man!

I can't believe you can buy such a high quality vehicle for such a low cost. I've been most impressed so far by all the features that are included with it. The stereo system is great, and it performs and handles very well. The fit and finish are stellar as with any other Toyota product. The visibility and handling are great. I love this car.

Drove the xA as a test drive for several hours. Fit and finish is superb, and acceleration is decent. Great city car with good handling (comparing to my RX300). However, my test car has a very rough idle. It trembles at the stop light all the time. Brakes are very mushy and have little feedback. I still don't like gauges at the center. I want them at the driver side in front of me!

I am 56 years old and not of part of the target market for this vehicle. I main reason I bought it is because it is a Toyota, and have experienced Toyota's reliabliliy. I needed a small, roomy, economical car and the Scion Xa fit the bill. Needless to say the price was right. I make regular trips to Lake Tahoe. I fill the car with my luggage and other items and have pulled all of the passes with no problem. It runs well at high altitudes. I have never experienced a reduction in horsepower or sluggish performance. I live in Southern California and it's peppy on the freeways. It drives at 80 mph with no problem and handles well. All in all, I love it!!!

I have had my 2005 Scion xA for over a year now and am still in love with it. Actually, I love my car so much that I convinced my mom to buy one (exact same color, too) when she totaled her Jeep. This car gets terrific gas mileage, turns heads at every stop light, can zip in and out of traffic like a Mini, and is fun to drive. I always wish for a little more power, but who could really ask for more with this set of features? I put in my own stereo system, but even the standard MP3 setup impressed this stereo snob : ) .

I've had this car for about 2 weeks, and I'm in love with it! It's my first car, and it's just what the doctor ordered. I waited to make the purchase, but I was lucky enough to get the RS 1.0 after dealing with 2 dealerships. The standard features are excellent, and the stereo is better than I could have ever imagined. The rides a little rough in spots, but it's not a Camry, right? And how can such a small car have so much room for me, passengers, and other stuff? Overall, this car is the best balance of features and price I have found.

I bought this to be a commuter car to and from work 70 miles a day and I have never regretted my decision. This is a great car. I have driven it long distance a couple of times and the ride is comfortable. You will be amazed on how much you can pack in the car 1,2, or none of the seats folded down. I already have put 88K on it, and look forward to the next 88K. I still love how small it is because it's so much easier and fun to weave thru traffic.

After 13 years of very reliable service my Tercel bit the dust so I went to my Toyota dealer to look at the Corolla. I need something to get me to work and back and pick up two kids with car seats from day care. The salesman recommended that I look at the Scion xA since I had a Tercel. I assumed it would be too small for the car seats but I was wrong. They fit in the back seat easily. The hatchback design makes for enough room in the back to store a fair amount of stuff. The car is very fun to drive. The milage is great. Aside from the few suggested improvements listed below the car is awesome for the price and I am very, very happy I bought a Scion XA.

This car can turn on a dime! Power transmission and small wheelbase. Get the manual- it has decent pickup and reviewers say that the automatic is sluggish...I find that this manual is more powerful and responsive than the 91 Honda civic htchbck manual that I used to have... Seats are very comfortable, car sits up higher than Hondas do. A mountain bike and drumset will fit in the back with the seats down; however, 4 bags of groceries and you have to put the seats down! Speedometer is located in a bad spot (center) have to look away from the road to see it.

I bought this car for the gas milage but what I got was much more. I think this is the best car that I have ever driven to this point. The extra features that you can get with it is outstanding. I love sports cars so I got the lowering kit and 18 inch rims along with the Cold air induction and sport muffler. The gas milage is about 36 miles to the gallon and I get alot of responce on the gas pedal. I can't even get in it without someone asking me about it. I don't know how any other car companys are going to sell compacts when this car becomes more known. There are things that I would change in the manufacture but they would all drive up the base line price.

Pro: cheap, stylish. Cons: underpower, no armrest, no cruise control This car is a very good economy car, @ around 14K it has power everything, plus an MP3 deck, and pionner speaker system, antilock brake, and the list goes on, it is very sporty looking, at this price range you won't find any other car that can offer the same amount of equipment, from the corolla to the civic. the design of the car looks nice and easy to use. The car is seriously under power, @ a mare 100HP it's a joke, but the little thing generate the same amount of power as a civic or a corolla, the MPG is a joke, on the highway the engine takes alot to get up to speed and that hinder the MPG. the tC is better IMO.

This is my third new car and my favorite by far! I was on the hunt for a commuter car with good fuel economy. I got that and more! The list of standard features is excellent. Power everything! Building one's own Scion is a great merketing strategy. Add the accessories you want without having packages of unwanted features shoved down your throat. The interior styling is clean, functional and attractive. Very comfortable for such a small car. The exterior is sleek with a smart attitude - a true head turner. I had people get up off the bus bench and rush to see the nameplate and call out, "Nice car!!"

From a commuting standpoint, I find the 2005 Scion xA to be an excellent performer. The basic vehicle comes with many desirable features (AC, CD/MP3 player, etc), and the no-haggle buying is nice. The automatic transmission is very sluggish until the engine warms up, particularly around 30 mph where it tends to stick in a low gear while struggling at high RPMs. This is definitely not a car to haul people around in - adults in the back seat will feel some discomfort; however, there is a lot of room for carrying other things.

The Scion xA is economic transporation with an attitude. This review is on one of the 1550 Absolutely Red special release versions of the xA. This car is fun to drive, drinks gas from a sippy cup instead of from a can, and causes heads to turn when it drives by. Cruise control was an added option so longer trips aren't out of the question, although don't pack the big bags, especially if there are four of you, because there isn't a lot of cargo space. The xA won't win any quarter mile races but it doesn't do horrible when the accelerator is mashed to the floor for passing. With its light weight, it's easy to stop quickly when required. If you are looking for economy+quality+fun, it=Scion's xA
