Used 2006 Saturn VUE Base Consumer Reviews
An Excellent Vehicle
This vehicle is a surprise considering all of the negative press it has received. The performance is excellent, The gas mileage is excellent for the size of the engine, the interior is attractive, and comfortable, and the steering and handling are very good...even in the recent snow, and ice storms. The build quality of this car is excellent. No rattles, squeaks, or wind noise. Plus a careless door opening, or shopping a cart bump won't require a trip to the body shop.
Fun & affordable
This is the second VUE that I have owned. I know Edmunds rates it a little above average for mileage. Comfort , looks, and service. I can't say enough about the service. It's 5 star. I took it on a trip to FL and averaged 27mpg. That 3.5 l v6 is great.

Our First Saturn
This is our first Saturn and we love it. My wife is the main driver of this VUE and we just got back from a trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennesee. We put on 2200 miles after only having the VUE for 10 days. It performed very well and we got good gas mileage, about 27 mpg on the road.
Go for it!
The '06 is a great improvement over our '03 VUE AWD. We still have the '03 and now have an '06 brother for her. I really enjoy the acceleration and the ride height. The interior seems tighter now and has improved to what you would expect out of a car. I really like the new seat material and the heated seats. I would of never bought heated seats for a car, now I wouldnt buy one without it. The new Euro style exterior design is most appealing. The wind and engine noise is less now. The VUE is no more of a soccer moms car than any other, if you want to impress the chicks, buy a sports car. If you want to save the money and buy an enjoyable SUV that wont break your wallet, go for the VUE
Nice but needs improvement
Have small problems such as windshield washer fluid leakage. Antifreeze leakage. Rear brakes need to be turned at 20,000 miles. Rattle noise from engine compartment. Rubber moulding around rear doors becomes detached easily. Larger problem with replacement of trans-axle at 21,000 miles. Vehicle rides hard and expect to replace struts and shocks by 25,000 miles.
