Used 1995 Saturn S-Series Sedan Consumer Reviews
SL2 bought new
Not a flashy car, but steady and reliable. Has had some transmission and other smaller problems but the dealer has always been generous about paying for repairs or splitting the cost, even after my warranty expired. It's a nice drive even for long distance, although for larger/taller folks visibility and comfort may be an issue.
Terrible Car
In the three years of owning this car I have had nothing but problems with this car. Here is a list of problems: Front bearings were replaced, all breaks replaced twice, head gasket replaced, transmission work, burns oil, eats gas, driver's side window stopped working, moon roof stopped working, dash rattles, exhaust replaced. All of this before 100K miles. Regular maitance was always preformed, just city driving. Extremely unreliable vehicle.
Lemons come in all colors.
I bought the vehicle used. The dealer called it a "certified used car". The first 3 weeks I had it, it burned all the oil it had and the enginge started knocking. It took all my time and energy for 8 weeks to convince the dealer it was under warrenty. They gave it a "ring job". That was at 50,000 mi. Then at 100,000 mi, The engine lost compression and had to have a head gasket replaced. The drivers side window leaks, the dashboard rattles and the interior trim falling off the doors. The engine still consumes oil at an alarming rate, 1.5 quarts per 3,000 mi. This car is not in it for the long haul.
Great little car
I purchased this car with a salvage title to commute to work. Despite it's past it has been a great little car, dependable, great gas mileage (up to 38 mpg). It is a five speed that is fun to drive. Taught my teen to drive in it and it's still running great! I bought it for the style and gas mileage but fell in love with this little car.
Efficient and Dependable
After nine years of ownership and 192,000 miles, I still love this car! The cost of maintenance and upkeep is very low. This has been a quality vehicle.
