Drives like a Lexus LS460

I have had five Ford F-150 including two raptors. I test drove the Ram 1500 Limited and the ride was incredible. It reminded me of my 2009 Lexus LS 460 . I really liked the soft Lexus ride. It could not believe that the Ram 1500 Limited drives like a Lexus as a result of the Air suspension. I immediately purchased the vehicle .

2022 Ram 1500 Laramie Eco Diesel rocks!

Love the drive and the plush interior. My last 4 cars from oldest to most recent were BMW, and then 3 consecutive Audis and I have to say, this truck is a pleasure to drive. Definitely different from the German engineering and tight suspension but a delight to drive. Updating my review after 1 year and 16k miles. Still loving the truck. I have the turbo diesel and took the family to Florida last summer. Averaged 32 mpg while averaging 78 mph. Absolutely no issues thus far. Update Jan. 2024. Have owned the truck for 2 years. 33500 miles. Still running great. Love the 4 cyl eco diesel mpg. I’m shocked that after 2 years there have been no rattles, etc.

Piece of Junk - Death Trap

I bought a brand new 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie and it’s been the worst purchase of my life. They hybrid battery pack failed and the truck went whacko and shut off mid drive, while my kids were in the car and on the way to school. It took several weeks to get it back. I’m only at 10,000 miles and now the infotainment system is crapping out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Brand new truck and I have to use my cell phone for Waze/navigation. I’m extremely concerned about my families well being in this truck. Dealers don’t seem to care at all. Beyond frustrating to by this pretty expensive truck and for it to basically be a lemon.

75 Thousand should get you better

I have now put about 3500 miles on my 2022 Longhorn Limited with E-tron mild hybrid 5.7 liter gas Hemi engine. I paid 75,000 for the truck. The only options it does not have are two I would have really liked had I known. Air Suspension and the tool box in the bed sides. I bought this truck after going to Ford wanted who wanted 10 grand over sticker for an F-15 on the lot and 2-5 grand over sticker on F-150 orders. I paid 1800.00 over sticker on this truck for the dealers "appearance" package. Meaning their checkbook appeared to get bigger. What I love about the truck. 1. The ride for a big truck is nice. Coil springs in the back make a difference. I have not towed with this truck yet but feel confident in the ability. Tons of power 2. Shifting is smoooooth. Very smooth. Cannot feel it. 3. The interior is one of the best. For 75 grand it should be. The layout is almost perfect. 4. Comfortable seats and with the added heat and vent for A/C. Huge cabin. I could live here. Looks great, leather is beautiful. Real wood and mental accents including belt buckles for the rear seat pockets. Nice touch. Plenty of storage. 5.Gas mileage is better than expected. I use Cruise Control a bunch and have been able to get 20.5 miles to the gallon at the top end, avg around 18.5 overall. 6. Infotainment System is mostly awesome. 12 in screen in great and you can split screen. 7. Rear view mirror has a camera option that gives you a very clear picture of the rear, behind the truck. 8. Sensors all around are accurate and everywhere. Good in a big truck. Things I do not like. 1. Fit and finish- The interior has a gap or two and things stick up when they should not. Had a dent inside the drivers door from delivery. Did not notice it right away. Who would? 2. Transmission from stop. Sometimes get kicked like a mule at start up sometimes. Not always but sometimes. 3. The adaptive Cruise Control is scary at times, really shoddy if you ask me compared to a 24 thousand dollar Honda Accord. Examples: If a car is exiting, the truck will slam on the brakes even after the car is fully out of your lane, like its tracking the car and not what is in front of you. Can cause rear end collisions. Start Stop can leave you on the highway. When traffic starts moving again in front of you, you have to step on the gas to get the truck moving, or you sit there like a fool waiting. 4. The Auto door unlock feature is only on the front two doors. Annoying. 5. Lane Keep assist is VERY weak. Not really worth having. Honda Accord I had 3 years ago had a great system with minimal corrections. The truck oversteers dramatically and will pull you out of the lane into the next lane. 6. Brakes are already squeaking at 3200 miles. May have squeaked before that but its just started getting nice out. Windows down you can hear the squeaks. 7. Infotainment center goes blank from time to time, switches to radio and back to blue tooth. Steve UPDATE: I spent 80 thousand dollars on this truck. Makes me feel stupid while I type this. The adaptive cruise control will get me killed someday. It’s that bad. Like a five year old programmed it. The 12 inch screen is great but wonky. Bluetooth comes and goes and the screen is sometimes unresponsive. Gas mileage is ok. 16-18 miles to a gallon. Truck is very comfortable and so far two years in, nothing major…yet. Starting wheel cracked at the top (laminate) and is being replaced. Maybe all 2020 to 2022 vehicles are like this due yo COVID but..80,000 is a lot of money to pay for a just ok truck. Hey Ford, want to sell me a hybrid f-150? PS. It’s a Long Horn Limited model. No air suspension or tool box in bed.

I really wanted to love this truck, but the V6 e-torque is total garbage - gas mileage isn’t even close to advertised (I am averaging 12.5 mpg combined) and it randomly chugs / sputters while accelerating. I’ve taken it in too many times to count. It’s roomy and looks great inside and out. Radio & backup camera is garbage too. No recalls though?

No power after 800 miles

I went for an oil change at the dealer at 800 miles and when we drove out both the wife and I noticed it has lost power under acceleration. Had to go on a long trip so did not bother to check again but changed the oil at 3000 miles and followed the break in instructions based on the owners manual. Came back and decided to do a horsepower check at 8000 miles. It is doing zero to sixty in 9.5 seconds instead of the advertised 6.2 seconds meaning half the horsepower is gone. It is putting out only 247 horses instead of the advertised 390 horsepower. Despite this obvious issue the dealer keeps blowing me off and saying there is nothing wrong with the truck but would refuse to even do a blow by test or compression check. I am still waiting to hear back from them but based on the pushback and the follow up or lack thereof from RAM I would hesitate to buy another one of these trucks ever again. Why would anyone dealer or manufacture give you a run around and push back like this? Because they are getting away with it and very few people actual do a power test on their truck to see if it has the power advertised.

Best truck I’ve ever driven

I’ve driven quite a few trucks for personal and work use and this is by far and away the best truck I’ve ever driven. Ram 2022 limited night edition with all options (12” UC5, MF tailgate, ramboxes, 3.21 gears, pano-roof, 5.7 eTorque) ticked except for the camera towing package. Quietest cabin, throaty V8, stunning sound system, smoothest ride with the auto start and stop almost imperceptible, and tons of technology that hasn’t disappointed. My only fear is that it has sooooooo much in here that can break, but Edmonds and consumer reports rates it highly despite all those risk factors. Had to take a chance. Way better than the Fords and GMC’s that I’ve loved. It’s just a huge step up.

This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever purchased. Here is a list of the issues that I have had in the first 5000 miles....and the dealer tells me to just live with them. 1. cant back with tailgate down because the sensors are blocked and it will lock the brakes. 2. if you have the audio on bluetooth, it will randomly switch to FM radio VERY VERY LOUD 3. the auto shutoff when stopped will shut off before stopping and then come back on and lurch forward. 4. Occasionally, the backup camera stays on until you shut off vehicle and start back up(and you cannot use anything in the meantime) 5. Traffic doesnt work 6.occasionally, if you have the vehicle running in a parking lot, while waiting for someone, the hazards will come on and it is impossible to shut off without turning off the vehicle and turning back on. 7. The truck will randomly switch to 2 wheel drive, which is a problem in the winter in MN 8. Shifting is horrible. But apparently, these are all things we need to live with.

The power of this 6200 pound beast is insane. All the off road features are really cool. This TRX is an extremely capable truck and so versatile in the everyday world. Only draw back is how often you’ll be at the gas pump but such a small price to pay for this amazing piece of machinery!

Stalls out when you slow down to turn

When slowing down to turn at a intersection right or left the truck has stalledout 10 times in less the 4000 miles. The engine shuts off and the emergency brake comes on. So you have to shift back to park restart then release the emergency brake and then pray the car behind you stops without hitting you.been to dodge dealer twice and they have no clue how to fix it. It's a 5.7 hemi etorque engine.internet lawyers say this engine has had this problem since 2019 with no fix.they shouldn't be allowed to sell the truck with this motor type

I've done allot of researching on other Brand trucks and let's face it, no brand is top top tier, despite gross sales on certain ones, what I look at is reliability, maintenance costs, fuel economy, and major flaws or issues. So far I cannot say an entire lot, because I only owned the Truck for 3 weeks and put a little over 500 miles on it, but, so far the back-up camera glitched or lagged and barely worked, and the outside paint feels like it was over sprayed and sap like. I have to bring the truck back in once more for the exterior paint as this has been addressed, but an ongoing issue. The truck drives smoothly, definitely comfortable on the inside, the bed is a inside liner not spray in, the garage door controls work flawlessly and you have several options for garage doors and gates on the upper have of the visor. There is tons of various compartments for various items and the room for a family it can fit up to 5 to 6 comfortably and not feeling entire squished. The bed itself isn't bad, a decent size depending on what you need it for or want to do, so I have the short bed as I did not need the longest bed. The E-Torque engine I am somewhat familiar with as I have had hybrid car in the past, so I am use to it shutting off at lights to save or conserve fuel. I legit get 17 to 18 miles per gallon city, highway is definitely 22. Overall we will see how the Truck holds out as I have heard many complaints about back window seal leaking when it rains or you wash your truck, power steering issues, and electrical issues. My only hope is if these are true and still ongoing with the newer model then it would be obvious the manufacturer doesn't care about reliability and only taking short cuts.

Many issues with Uconnect 5. First, the Weather App does not work. The screen locks up or turns black when selecting different modes, ie: Nav or Audio, etc. the GAS POI under navigation does not show fuel prices. Sirius/XM travel link not available as was on my 2019 1500. Nor is the 2022 radio compatible with the service. When you save different Sirius/XM stations the displayed icon for certain stations is white and hard to see..

I really like my new Ram with the 5.7 Hemi. The leather interior is beautiful and the materials are top notch. Previously I had a 2014 Ram Ecodiesel Gen1. But the problems I had with that engine drove me to trade it in. The air suspension, only available on Ram, is the best option to have especially if you tow a boat. But the other appointments are also what make this truck a joy to own. All the power one needs coupled with all the luxury one could ask for.

Having owned a Ford 150 before you cannot compare how well this truck handles with a wonderful coil suspension. Make sure you do NOT buy a diesel as I had s as $3400 bill that Chrysler refused to honor until it became a recall 6 years later, and I’m still fighting with them to get the balance ( $1700 ) back even though I have provided them with all the necessary documentation.

Based on Consumer Reports and other reviews of the Ram 1500, we bought a 2022 limited, TH, anniversary edition, replacing a Lexus 460 ( the most hated SUV). The ride, handling, fuel economy, and performance are exceptional. It has more storage than my house, and has been a terrific vehicle to drive our dogs, stuff and us from the east to the west coast. We love and use Apple Play, when it works. Seat comfort and adjustability are good. We almost like everything about our ruck, but: Two mechanical issues recently have been disheartening. First, at the first stop sign at the end of our road, the truck shut its engine off and applied the parking brake, all on its own. The instrument panel indicated the battery was not charging. Fortunately we got it started, got it home, recharged the battery, and took it to the dealer. It turns out there was a service bulletin on topic, and a flash memory upgrade supposedly fixed the problem. Second, we were on I-70 in Pa just over the Md line, on Easter Sunday when the alternator quit, barely giving us enough time to pull over to safety before the engine stopped. A kind state trooper helped us find a tow truck after 4 hours of trying to get one through AAA and Mopar. After being towed to the Chrysler dealer in Bedford and dropped at a hotel, we ascertained that no one stocked the part, delivery was three to five days, but one to two for an expedite fee. A routine warranty repair became quite expensive with towing, accommodations, meals, cabs and an expedite fee. The verdict, we are very concerned about reliability. Software problems, a spent alternator in the first 20,000 miles. What’s next. For many years Lexus/Toyota was my go to, and I never had issues during the first few years of ownership. Maybe Lexus will finally upgrade the 460 to be competitive. Our model does not pop up below.

I Purchased a 2022 Ram 1500 in Feb. tis year my truck now has 7000 miles on it. I have taken it to the Dealership 4 times for the same reason. Every 15-20 days the radio will reset. Every time I take it in they say there is a new update. This last time they said that they were going to replace the Radio so they asked me to leave it over night so i did, 2pm the next day I went to pick it up and all they did was another update?? I should have Bought a different brand i have co workers that have a new Chevy and a Ford and they have more mileage and have yet to have to take there's to the Dealer for anything.

Laramie 5.7 Hemi eTorque I had picked several 1500s to view. Each was at a different dealer. What I found was that, even though they were listed as Laramie Sport they were missing things. The dealer listings did not mention these delete features, I had to read the window sticker line by line to see what was actually in the vehicle. They were each missing one or more of the following: the 115v outlets & inverter, the communications option (911, assist, and crash notification), the backup camera, and others. Each dealer had listed the “standard features” for the appropriate trim level. When I asked I was told they had been delete due to supply line problems & most could not be added when they became available. All of the 1500s I saw also had the 23 gallon fuel tank. I use my current 1500 for long runs, It has the 32 gallon tank and the range lets me get where I need to be with few stops. I constantly use the 115v outlet to keep various devices charged while I’m on the road. I was looking to upgrade features, i.e. the collision avoidance technology, or maybe the eTorque. Buying a truck that reduced my range by about 200 miles per tankful was a deal breaker. If the dealers were more open in their listings on Edmunds I would not have wasted several days looking at trucks that did not fit my needs.

First after about 4000 miles the front end blew off, after two weeks in repair w/ no loaner offered by RAM dealer it was fixed. Radio goes in and out, door locks works sometimes and now the backup camera and rear sensors do not work. After two days at the dealership they said they have no solutions. They want to keep it longer but again no loaner....so in other words we already have your money and you can wait until we feel like it. Do yourself a favor and buy a Ford, never had an issue with my F-150.

The most hated feature of the 2022 Ram 1500

The most hated feature across the country from owners of the 2022 Ram is the one whereby if you leave the truck with the Key Fob in your pocket the [non-permissible content removed] horn starts beeping at you.. Ram does not provide any mechanism to turn the ANNOYING feature off. People think you are blowing your horn at them.. your neighbors, people in parking lots at Walmart or the grocery store.. It CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. It is insane and pointless and EVERYBODY that has to suffer thru this madness hates it.. WTF was RAM thinking? If you are planning on buying one.. DO NOT BUY IT. You will regret it.

My 2012 quad cab had more storage and bins in the rear area behind the drivers compartment than this 2022 Big Horn. This truck is the new style, not the classic. This 2022 does not have a 110 volt plug. My 2012 did. This truck's sticker price was $55,000 and Chrysler cheesed it. The driver should have choices to activate items in the truck. Driver turns things off and they are back on next time truck is started. I turn the screen off or the radio and they are on again when start the truck. Owned should be in control not the truck. Other items are the same. Truck comes with temporary spare and this truck has a towing package. The 2012 had a full spare. Too many bells and whistles that have to do with a quality driving machine. My model is Hemi 5.7 quad cab that is not listed in models below. Frankly the 2012 was a better truck.

I purchased the 2022 ram 1500 quad cab 3.6 etorque truck and it's truly only suitable to sit kids in the backseat very tight for adults another mistake... I should of bought the crew cab but that's all they had at my local ram dealer. The 1500 Lonestar etorque 3.6 truck is a disappointing choice, yes I test drove it and didn't notice the stiff suspension every bump in the road you feel on the gas strut truck. The truck only gets 22.5 at best mpg on the highway and this motor relies on rpm's over power every time you press the accelerator. The only 5 star this truck will ever receive is that the interior noise is great. Other than that it is a miss for me and no blind spot mirror indicators they should be standard with all ram trucks. And the 360 view cameras should be there as well on a truck of this level. Definitely scrap the very stiff suspension add the air shocks they would be a great upgrade for a smooth ride and build a more powerful V6 and X out the etorque system it is jerky on takeoff and really not that beneficial... This truck model is equal to a 2 out of 5 star for me. The RPM'S sometimes seem to get close to 4000 on take off with the 1st 3 gears much higher than my old 2013 3.6 non etorque how is this better efficiency to my pocket book? Get to work Ram and produce a more efficient V6 truck it's way overdue!!! The XLT Ford 1500 was my first choice but my old ram was broke and they told me it would be a while before they could even look at the coolant sensor valve that was bad. So I bought a new Ram and traded in my old truck. Mistake!!!😂

So far with 700 miles: * Drives and handles well. * 3.0 V6 Turbo Ecodiesel engine is whisper quiet and has good starting acceleration. * Mileage reached so far is 28.2 mpg; optional 33Gal tank is a game changer. * Cabin is quiet at highway speeds. * Rambox system is definitely a great option. * UConnect Nav with 8.4 inches screen so far easy and responsive to use...still learning. So far with 2900 miles: * in addition to driving/handling well, it’s very confortable & has lots of storage * enjoy the center console features & comes with a safe * definitely ramboxes are woth the xtra cost In general infotaiment is fast, easy to use, pravtical & screens are very crisp * low lights: doesn’t come with lockable fueling door and light controls knob is hard to access & can’t even read at a glance

This truck is a fun truck! There are only two things I am disappointed with on this truck. At $80k it does not have blind spot indicators and the mirrors do not have power fold capability. Fun to travel in, take camping, climbing hills, or running legal on the beach, it’s been a blast! I’ve taken this to 16 different states and have never enjoyed a vehicle as much. Has the 5.7 Hemi eTorque. Overall average of 16 smiles per gallon.

At first the transmission wasn't smooth downshifting. Read up in the manual that it would take some weeks before it learned your personal driving habits. It actually took some months in my case, but other than that, 19,000 miles later it is a solid performer. Comfortable, smooth ride, very nice and spacious interior, pretty good gas mileage considering it is a 4X4 (around 22MPG @ 70mph), I am so far very satisfied with this product and most likely would purchase from this brand again.

Steering is very smooth, rides great with touring 22” tires compared to the rough riding 2012 f250 that beat my teeth in over any little bump. However, I have a longhorn with a 5.7L and was not an option to pick as a vehicle. Getting 20mpg of you stick to the speed limit.

First disclosure - I have liked Ram trucks since the 2004 design. Second disclosure - I don't use the truck as a commuter car or SUV, it actually works - hauls stone and woods and tows a landscape trailer, but I do value operating economy and convenience features. Conclusion: this truck knocks it out of the hour... Fantastic and no-fuss controls and Uconnect, a hybrid that delivers mileage and a low-speed power boost (I paid <$50K, not $80K+ like the lowest cost Ford hybrid F150), comfortable seating position and great visual -inside and out. Best is the ride quality, loaded or not. Would not think of replacing with a Chevy or going back to a Ford.

Has the best quality of any vehicle I have ever driven, great power etc. However I am coming off from a 2016 F150 Lari6at and there are a couple things I miss that the Ram could use. First, there is no dead foot/left foot rest in the Ram. On road trips I find I constantly searching for a comfortable place to rest my left foot and its annoying. The second thing is the gas tank size. Its a 98L tank and its too small. My Lariat had the long range 136L fuel tank and it was nice to be able to drive about 1100km on the highway without worrying about gas. Other than that the truck is very nice.

So far so good after 2700 miles. The V6 is smooth with plenty of power but by no means it’s a race car. It was built to haul cargo and indeed it seems to be very capable. Everything seems to be working perfectly with no issues. Comfort is second to none, with lots of extra space. Very satisfied so far!
