Used 2006 Pontiac G6 Sedan Consumer Reviews
Great car to own and drive!
Driven the car on all sorts of trips. One 2000 mile stint and it was very comfortable and pleasure to drive. This car is fun, and even great accelerations with the 3.5L V6. I averaged 33 MPG on the long trip and am getting 22 in the city. This is the first car I've had with Satelite Radio and I really like it. On Star is a great safety option that ever car in america should have. I must say the G6 has been a pleasnt surprise for me. I think GM/Pontiac has got a winner on their hands for sure. I picked the G6 over the Grand Prix. Mostly because of styling and more room for my back seat riders. This car is great all around!
Front suspension noise
Have had the car 2 years. It has 27,000 mostly highway miles. When the weather gets cold, the suspension sounds like its coming apart. Had the car to the dealership 6 times for front suspension. Have changed intermediate shaft 2x, steering column 2x, struts once, and strut bearing caps once. Can't say they are not trying to fix it, but I am beginining to belive that Pontiac has a design defect in its front suspension. Have heard too many other horror stories about the same problem. I can now understand why GM is in trouble!

Pontiac For The Poor Man
I looked at, and drove almost every midsize sedan, (around $20,000.00) and the G6 is an unbelievable value! The 4 cylinder 2.4 liter engine has got all the pep and spunk you will need! The car is agile, tight, and quiet! The car has a fantastic ride, sitting on the standard 16" rubber. Seriously folks! You have to look at this car if Value for the "Buck" is important to you! You will save a lot on the sticker price by going with the standard 2.4 liter 4 cylinder but you won't regret it!!
surprised
Bought it in June 05 , and have 9000 miles on it . Pleasantly surprised . MPG on Hwy at 80 mph we got 32 mpg on a 600 mile trip . My wife averages 28-30 in mixed driving . Very quiet except on really rough roads, excellent stereo , and spacious back seat on base sedan . Some cheap plastic on the interior , but what do you expect for under 20k ?
Typical GM Junk
We got our 2006 G6 buy assuming a lease from a family member. Normally I have always bought/leased a foreign auto but since we were paid to assume this lease from our family member, I decided to give it a shot..Yeah that was a MISTAKE. CAUTION: This car has intermittent loss of powersteering while you are driving. I has happened to my wife several times and we have taken it to the GM garage(towed it actually)and then when the car is restarted, the powersteering works for a short time until it stops working again. My wife won't drive the car anymore especially with the kids. Since I have taken it, it happens all the time. Fortunately, my lease ends in a few days so I can get rid of this car
