My little powerhouse went out in style..
I bought it new when I was 16. The only problem I had was the transmission- during the end of the warranty (Chrysler replaced it for free) and the bearings. My car was stolen in 2003 and gave the occupants quite a ride as they led a high speed car chase around philly. It also held up well when they crashed it through a fence and playground. But being a '93, it was deamed "totaled". I miss it! :-(
Very surprised by reliability
I bought this car in 1996 and it's still running strong! I am very surprised at how dependable it's been. The A/C doesn't work (needs a new compressor) but besides that I've only had the usual maintenance costs. The car has great pickup too, more than my 1998 Saturn. This is a great go to work car.
Dusters are Great Cars
The Plymouth Sundance/Duster and Dodge Shadow are great cars. They cost much less than other cars in their class, and they have an available 3.0L V6. This engine packs a wallop. It is a very good, reliable engine. I have had no major problems with my Duster since I bought it. Also, I have not driven a car in this class that is more comfortable.
Awesome Car.
Had this car for 1 year so far for $3,700. Had 50,000 miles on it and not a problem to date. Car handles well, fun to drive, and very fast acceleration (No joke).
Return of the Duster
I bought this car about a year ago for $1500 and have been pleasantly surprised with it's economy and reliability. I had to replace the battery and front brakes along with oil changes and spark plugs, but have been happy with it's performance overall. It has a lot of nice features for a car it's size and is very comfortable and fun to drive. It runs like a top on the highway and is very easy to drive in th city.
