MY BEST RIDE EVER!!!
I have owned MANY used cars, and by far this one is my favorite. Driven almost daily, used also for long road trips. I am amazed with the comfort, handling, response, and over all feel of this auto. Like I said, I have owned many cars, including Cutlasses, but this one is different. When I bought it used ( 48,000 mi), the first test spin I took, I told my wife, " this car feels good, real good, its right", and I bought it. I haven't had a single problem with it at 82,000 miles. I get @32 mpg on a road trip averaging 70mph. AWESOME! I recommend this car over my wife's Accord anyday. Way to go GM. I wish you weren't going to discontinue the Old's line.
My Best Companion
I have owned my Cutlass for over ten years. Mileage to date is just over 207,000. I have had to do the regular maintenance repairs--intake manifold gasket (which I discovered has been replaced by a higher quality gasket); various sensors; injectors cleaned. Head gasket began leaking around 140,000 miles; catalytic converter replaced at 180,000 just to be preventive; tranny was replaced right at 200,000 miles. All in all, this car has been very reliable--even predictable in its repairs. More than one mechanic has asked me to buy it. My response? "NO WAY!" She still looks and sounds like new!
I LOVE BETTY WHITE!
I bought my 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL in 2024. I bought it as a flip car, but I fell in love with the old lady! I have had newer cars 2012, 2013, 2006, but Betty White drives better and has more options than they did. She had 92,000 miles on her and has no rust when I bought her last fall. She's getting close to 100,000 now. I am not even a GM fan or a fan of older cars, but I LOVE THIS CAR! I had to replace the motor mounts and some some front suspension parts, but that is all. She is so comfortable it's like sitting in your grandmother's lap. The motor is peppy and sounds great too. If you can find one of these old gems still around in great shape like I did snatch it up!

Money Pit
Nothing but trouble. This car is a money pit. As soon as I get something fixed, something else breaks. Of course, this only started happening after the warranty ran out. A new transmission in a car only 5 years old and only driven to work and kids to school--shouldn't have happened. Tape player broke a long time ago. Door handle cover keeps falling off on passenger and driver side. Bad fuel pump, bad water pump, 2 alternators, several batteries and now the fuel injector system needs to be replaced. I'm finished dumping money into this car!
