We just picked up our new 05 Xterra offroad 4x4. This vehicle is so much fun to drive. I was thinking about an 04 but as soon as I got in the drivers seat of the 05 I could feel the power difference. The X sits up high so you can get a clear view of the road ahead. The ride is smooth and the handling is superb. The X turns on a dime. You can get a great deal from the dealership if you do your homework first, I know because I got the vehicle for invoice price. I love the new Xterra.

I bought a 4x4 Xterra because I wanted something that was fun to go off roading and camping in and was also good around town. I have only one complaint and that's the gas mileage. But what can you expect for a very strong V6 pulling a 4600 lb vehicle around? Other than that it's great. Good around town and great off road. Quite possibly the best composite on/off road vehicle around.

The criterion was steep. I needed an SUV that not only could get me to the hospital for work in the worst of conditions, but I needed an SUV that appealed to me aesthetically. I also needed an SUV that could comfortably house me, being a 6'2 280 pound powerlifter, I'm not the biggest man on the planet by any stretch, but my back usually extends way past most seats. The Xterra is the all in one package. Well performing off road. Quick and nimble acceleration. As well as plenty of space, although my back still extends past the seats, I am very much comfortable. I test drove many an SUV in the price range, and a month later I'm still smiling everytime I get in the X to drive.

I love my Xterra and feel it is everything I expected it to be. I have yet to see how dependable it is, but if it is like the rest of the Nissan's I have owned, no problems. I am not too keen on the comfort zone, but it was built for xtreme usage so I overlooked that aspect. I don't have the courage to take off road yet, but plan to soon. I don't think it gets near the gas mileage they claim it gets. All around this vehicle gets a darn good review from me.

I love my xterra...it has a great ride, lots of fun to drive and the 4wd is great in the snow! It doesn't have the greatest pickup but overall highly recommend!
