Can you spell G A S ??? Own a country in the Middle East before you buy. EPA rating of 14/20 is a myth, who tested this vehicle? Unique design, great Fosgate stereo if you play CDs, forget the radio sound. Quirky color scheme - butterscotch and gray? Japanese build quality not as good as I expected, minor problems become a nuisance. Only headphones disguise the exhaust roar...
First year Titan's
Powerful, solid, rattle free, comfy, quick...just a few words to discribe the Titan. A great truck for everything from runs to the store to towing a 26' power boat. The tie down bed liner system is amazing, great thinking.

this truck blows all the other truck right out of the water. it has great performce, confort, and fetures. i bought mine for $89 over invoice. bottom line great truck the power is awusome. the F-150 runs out of power fast on the highway, this just keeps going, like the maxiama
300 miles and still here

Titanium
It is a pretty good vehicle lots of room and good to tow your boat
EX-FORD NISSAN TITAN FOR LIFE
I HAD A 1997,1999,2001,2003 FORD F-150 TRUCK.BUT WHEN THE NEW 2004 F-150 CAME OUT. I HAD TO GO TEST DRIVE IT AND THE TITAN. DRIVE THE FORD AND THE NISSAN. THAT ALL I HAVE TO SAY. NISSAN TITAN FOR LIFE.
show
best truck made. for price and budget. exceeds highest standards than most. best built longer lasting truck on the market.
Lots of Looks
Fun to drive,fantastic stereo,very comfortable,quiet.
Moved on to bigger better nissan!
I have never owned a truck and I swore I never would. All my life I always drove cars and that was that. I never even liked SUV's. However that wears thin and so did my 300zx turbo. Now im a proud owner of a NISSAN TITAN. Only thing im scared of is that the truck is almost running out of gas, see when I purchased it the dealer filled it up and also washed it. I now have had the truck for 2 whole days an already have 280miles on it. I cant stop driving it plus I want to break it in. Well 27 gallons here we come. =)
Very Happy Titan Owner
I dont need to say more than this is what a pickup is all about...
Great buy.
Previously owned several Toyota 4runner's so the Tundra was the obvious choice when looking for a truck. Glad I waited. Maybe if I would have waited a little longer I would not have had to pay msrp! This truck is bigger, has more power and very close money wise. It is a dream to drive. All the power you could ever want with a very tight feel although it is a big heavy truck.
Titan King Cab, 4X4, Galaxy, LE
I am extemely pleased with my Titan. I have been pleasantly suprised by the layout and finish of the interior. The engine power is smoothly transferred through the drive train to the wheels. The ride of the vehicle is really comfortable, while being firm enough to handle off-road riding. Being a former Ford, F150, Lightning (2000) owner, I do believe that Ford, as well as GM have a real full-size, competitor, in the Titan, for their dominance of US pickup sales. With Nissan's planned, addition of options and other improvements on the 2004 model, for later roll out, the competition is here.
Loud Exhaust is unwanted
I love everything about the truck except the fuel millage and the loud exhaust which is quite annoying
sweet ride
I did masive research on trucks and I'm able to buy at or below invoice o on Ford's and GM's and still wanted the Titan. Ricart ran an add for a SE KC w/popular pkg splach gaurds and the most expensive floor mats ever 22900.00 I drove as fast as possible to the dealer and bought.this is one sweet ride. I must say with all the dealers I went to there salesmen didnt know squate about this truck or what you could get for it.
LOVIN' EVERY MINUTE OF IT
BEEN SHOPPING FOR A BETTER PART OF 2 TO 3 YEARS ON AND OFF. TEST DROVE ALL THE FULL SIZE TRUCKS ON THE MARKET. GREW UP ON FORD AND ALMOST BOUGHT THE NEW F150 BUT BACKED OUT. AFTER TEST DRIVING THE TITAN 3 TIMES I WAS CONVINCED THAT NISSAN PULLED IT OFF. I GOT THE LE KING CAB AND AM LOVING IT. PLAN ON HAVING TRUCK FOR 10 YEARS AND IM SURE IT WILL EASILY LAST WELL BEYOND THAT. 2 WORDS FOR EVERYONE "THINK TITAN." NOW GO FORTH AND BUY ONE.
Great Trcuk
Best truck I have ever driven. Fun, powerful, responsive and comforable. It is a great pleaseure vehicle and a great work truck all in one. It is fun to drive and a pleaseure to ride in. Very well thought out in design and features. Wonderful truck!!
Best truck
I have only had this truck a week and it impresses me more each day. I have the captain's chairs and find them to be very supportive and comfortable. Test drove both the F-150 and the Titan and the ride in the Titan is superior. The transmission is smooth and acceleration is formidable. A great vehicle.
Don't buy an F-150 yet
Just bought the truck last week and am in love. Go for the Crew Cab Le, you won't regret the extra money. This truck has it all: power, looks, comfort, and utility. Gas mileage is what you would expect for the power this truck has. I tear up my friends Silverado with the 5.3.
titan is tough
smooth performance, deceiving quick, very quiet inside, Handles like a much smaller vehicle, smooth exhaust note. Tows a trailer (5000lbs/with load)very easily.
Much better built than my 02 Ford F 150.
Awesome power and towing capability. It just seems like it is built better than my 2002 Ford F 150. I really like the 6 disc changer. I would recommend it to anyone.
the truck
This is a awesome ride and is great on road and off road. this is a all around great truck for the price.
my truck
im a first time owner of nissan from three gmc truck to a tittan. i must say the way this truck handles is so much more like a sudan. also has the power and room of a suv. my complaint is no automatic running lights and the fuel light is a little to far to the side (out of site) other than that im a new nissan fan.
Awesome Truck
Traded in my 03 Chev Silverado for this Titan. Chev can't hold a candle to this truck. Smooth, powerful, quiet, features, all in Nissan's favor. Even got a good deal considering this is a no dicker truck at present. Fit and finish are a good or better than any import I've ever owned. Turning radius is excellent, adjustable pedals are a great feature for the shorter driver in the family. Bed is as long at the Chev with a smaller wheel wells in the bed. Still asked almost daily what I'm driving. Turns heads almost every where I go.
Unsure of issue
I have a 2004 King Cab and I love this truck. I just don't like the noise coming from somewhere whenever I'm making a turn as I come out of our driveway or the parking lot. It seems like it's a steering or brake issue, I'm not sure. (Only noticeable when the engine is still running for under 2 minutes or so.) I've read about people often changing their brake rotors and pads. I remember having a brake judder when she was still about 5k miles. But I took it to the dealer and they corrected the problem. I'm not sure if they replace the rotors and pads though. I plan on keeping her and will replace the pads and rotors to aftermarket ones if I have to.
First review...1000 miles
We bought the truck on 12 Jan 2004 and in the last week we have put just over 1k miles on her. SE King Cab 2WD model with the Pop Bench Pkg, Big Tow Pkg and Bed Pkg. $1400 under MSRP was the best we found after shopping 4 lots in our area over 2 weeks. Out of 35 trucks they had, less than 5 now. So getting them far below MSRP is not gonna happen here in Socal. Were actually going to replace my wifes 99.5 Pathfinder with an '04 but after she has seen and driven the Titan it was a no brainer. $3k less than the Pathy. My wife just can't wipe the grin off her face. And to tell the tructh, niether can I. I love the power and feel of this Full Sized TRUCK!
Nissan hits the mark the first time out!
This truck is living up to the hype. After clocking over 300 miles in the first week the impression of quality craftsmanship is what I take from the Titan experience. Power is strong anywhere in the RPM range and the transmission is so smooth, the only way you can tell it is shifting is by the louder growl from the engine. Gas mileage through the first 300 miles was 13.32 mpg but I expect that to improve once the vehicle is broken in. Best advice I can give is that if you are in the market for a new truck, try them all out and choose what you like best which in many cases, if given the chance, will be the Titan.
That thing got a Hemi? Nope, better.
You simply cannot buy more truck for the money. Ford and Chevy have Nissan on the interior niceties, but drivetrain, engine, and usability define the Nissan
overall experience thus far
bought my titan kc 4x4 this past december. although this is a new product for nissan, they have done their homework. this is one awsome vehicle. the power is incredable. when you step on the gas pedal, its acceleratration is unlike any truck ive ever driven,or any regular passenger car for that matter. although it has less than 800 miles on it,i think this truck has something to say to the big 3.i'm sure there will be some issues being its first year for this truck, but nissan has been building trucks a long, long time.
A truck your wife will love
I can barely get my wife out of the truck so I can drive it. The smooth shifting power and looks really sold me. Turning radius on narrow logging roads is a big plus, shorter than the competition. I can to a lowboy trailer with 4 tons of machine and no holding this beast back. With four burly loggers in the cab, comfort has not been a complaint. Kudos to nissan for making a real truck that's gonna kick some tail.
2004 Titan SE KingCab 4X4
Comfortable, powerful, properly executed full size pickup.. I only have one complaint. There is no way to turn off the traction control! 305 horsepower/379 ft/lb of torque and no smokey burnouts, even with VDC turned off. I just want those "HEMI" owners to smell a little smoke when my Titan is smokin' 'em!!
I love my truck!
This is the best vehicle I have ever owned, bar none! Never again will I own a Chevy or Ford truck for the rest of my life!
Great Truck, Except for the Brakes
Bought this last year for a work truck, wife liked it so much she started driving it and didn't give it up. It rides great, very comfortable and has plenty of power. The Rockford Fosgate sounds good, volume adjusts with speed, (dont know if the 30000 mile review guy knows this) The only problem has been the brakes. I have had it in once, at 6000 miles, but they are starting to go again. If Nissan can't figure it out I will switch to Brembos. The gas mileage could be better, I have a 65 mile round trip commute and 16 mpg doesn't cut it. (this is why I am driving the wife's car)A friend of mine has one as well, he switched to syn. oil and diff. exhaust and got 20 mpg, but it should be better
love it
great performance from the 5.6 engine. smooth ride with no wind noise. goes into turns sharp for a pickup. If you get the 4x4 get the off road package. The only thing negative is the plastic parts on the interior ie. the large hvac knobs i hope they hold up. Got my se king cab 4x2 with off road package, utility package, and preferred power package(radio controls on steering, power adj pedals) for 24,800 the tt&l.
my review
i've had my titan for two years and have over 40,000 miles on it with only minor problems with the brakes. i've towed my boat and hauled furniture and all sorts of scrape and garbage. it's the best truck i've owned.
great fun
fun to drive, fast and comfortable, great handling. five speed automatic is super. utility is great.
Bang for the bucks
Good price for a full size. Gas mileage is comparable to a mid-size truck with smaller V6 engine.
Gas mileage Stinks
okay, the titan is fun to drive and the exterior design is snazzy but the gas mileage stinks. You can't keep gas in it! If I had it to do over again, I would not purchase the titan truck. I recommend you wait and buy the new 2005 Frontier which is coming out in Dec 2004. I'm serious you can't keep gas in the titan. deac
titan
I love the ride and speed and pick up of this truck. The radio reflection is very prominent in the rear window at night.
I couldn't be happier
This truck is all that and more. I can't believe i wasted all that time test driving the Fords and Dodges. Now, i'm comfortably looking at them in my rear view window.
Blows Everything Else Out of the Water
I drove the F150, and the Silverado...Dealers would not budge on the price. I was willing to buy the F150 for 22K...The dealer offered 22.5k...Went, fell in love with and bought the Titan for 22.3k. 6 cd changer...nice stereo system...tint...pedal adjustment..cruise, outstanding compartments(6,7??). Vamity mirrors, sun visor extensions..ETC..I may have gotten extremely lucky with my deal, BUT I would have paid 2k more to get into this vehicle. Rides and looks like an SUV. Buy it. You will not be sorry. emial me at avalderas@austin.rr.com if u think i'm kidding. Serious truck. I love it....
The Best Truck on the Road
This truck has power to pull a 36 ft trailer, and still do 70 miles per hour over a Major highway (hill)
Loving it, but...
Coveted Tundras forever, thought about Chevy/Dodge, then test drove the Titan. GAME OVER! Bed features and interior design for the $$ involved made this one a no-brainer. The engine's power is addictive; gas mileage no worse than anything else this size. Driver's seat extremely comfortable. Graphite/Titanium leather the way to go (What's the butterscotch color? Blech.) Love the stereo, esp. the sub. No sunroof, but I don't miss it. BUT... add-ons back-ordered, minor quirks like faulty airbag sensor, clock malfunction, broken spring on storage lock cover...all have left me with a loaner at this point. But I'm not complaining (too loudly)....
titan
great power fun to drive like a car with power and size of a truck switched from an escalade dont miss it at all
Not too shabby....
Handles beautifully, so comfortable. As someone said above, back to the dealership within a day of buying, and again within a week. The lights staying on on the dash are a problem with the offroad package: a clip bent by the front passenger side tire made the cable go into the rim and get worn through by the tire causing the ABS, VDC and slip light to stay on - which means there was actually no ABS in the front. The dealership was able to fix this, along with a rattle in the front dash.
the best truck
i think the titan is the best truck ive ever owned its cool looking it's a tuff truck and its powerful but it needs to come with a grill in the bottom of the front bumper. but its still a good truck.
DRIVE ONE !!!
I have been a Ford man for 30 years. After problems with my last two I decided to try something new.So far I love this truck.I opted out of the "Big Tow" & "Offroad Pkg" to get better mpg. With 2500 miles on the truck I'm getting 16-18 mpg (Better than my 5.4 Fords & lots of smooooth power).Silky transmission. DRIVE ONE !!!
Fantastic!!!!
A smooth ride with tons of power. Truck looks and feels great. Spacious and luxurious. You WILL be envied. Nissan did a great job with this truck
titan is good
Had bad, ( soft rotors at new ) they fixed that. Transmission slipped at 37K, was some type of switch. The trans. from the beginning of owning it, sometimes when taking off, feels like you took off on a spot of ice, wheels slip for a moment. They don't know what it is. Also, at a light, it feels like someone bangs into you lightly, they say common.
what a ride
This truck is a pure and flat out blast to drive!! And the power.....ohhh the power!! The smoothness of the ride is unequaled..and I test drove the ford and Dodge Ram before I finally drove the Titan!!I am a Titan man for life!!
What a Truck
This is the best truck I've ever owned. The engine and transmission are great. Most of the power is at the low end where you need it most (I use mine as a truck not as a hot rod). The cab is roomy, and the exterior is great. The utilitrac bed makes securing any load a breeze. I have overloaded this truck including 1200lb pallet in bed with 300lb toolbox plus other tools and the suspension did not bottom out, and the truck handled the load with no problems. If you are shopping for a full size truck you need to test drive this beast.
