Diamond in the rough
After spending over a year researching midsize/crossover suvs my husband and I believed we had narrowed it down to one vehicle and went out for some test drives. We decided while out to try some of the other makes and models in the area just to get a feel for the differences read about in the various rating and review sites such as this one. When we pulled into the Nissan lot I realized I knew very little about the Pathfinder, having not made it in the top reviewed crossovers over the past couple years I must have glossed over it in all our research. Or found the reviews underwhelming. We were pleasantly surprised by the test drive, we were blown away by the ease of use of the second row, third row access is achievable without feeling like a sardine! The towing capacity of 6000 Ibs is certified towing capacity and it's an easy and affordable package to add to any model, unlike some competitors. After re-reviewing the reviews we realized that the only two reasons for the Pathfinder not being in the top listings were styling and the CVT transmission. It does take a couple drives to get used to a CVT but this vehicle has power, real power and the CVT is smooth and clearly one of the best out there. The styling is not flashy or overly rugged but it's a nice looking car inside and out. Trust me, go to a dealership and stand next to it and get inside. The plastics are smooth and feel rather luxurious in comparison to the competitors plastics. The vehicle is much larger and the front end has been given a more squared off look. Do I affectionately call it my family wagon? Yes because it's a suv that can handle weather, rough roads and still haul my two boys and my two nephews with all their car seats and booster seats included. I can actually walk into the third row to latch buckles and seat belts, step comfortably out again, roll the second row forward with car seats and boosters and get the other children in and adjusting the leg room for each row quickly. I have done this same routine in the 2017 honda pilot that my sister in law owns and it does not go smoothly. It's much roomier in each row than reviews state and so simple to adjust for leg room. We bought during their year end sale and went with the SV with the weather package and tech package for towing and got the headrails as we are more than aware that midsize suvs with 3rd row up have little space for stuff (that's when full size suvs or minivans may better suit you). We are so happy with our purchase and plan to drive this for years to come. Our boys will grow up with this car and we haven't regretted our decision once. I really believe more people should give the Pathfinder a look. It may surprise you.

Great features; great price; very nice ride!
We were looking for a three row SUV that has good gas mileage, towing capacity, and value. The final two that I considered were the Pathfinder SL with the Tech package and the Toyota Highlander XLE trim. These have similar MSRPs to they should be comparable. The Toyota puts their advanced safety features (lane departure, collision mitigation, etc) on all trim levels. Another good thing about the Toyota was its auto stop/start feature. It was hard to notice when the car shut itself off and started back up again. On the other hand, Nissan gives you a lot more for the price. Some of the features on the Pathfinder that were not on the similarly priced Highlander were the around view monitor (my favorite feature); heated second row seats; heated side mirrors; heated steering wheel; remote start; a premium Bose sound system; driver seat position memory. Another cool feature on the Pathfinder is that when you shut off the car, the seats moved back for ease of exit. When you start it back up again, the seats move into position. A couple of small negatives. The Pathfinder has a lot of power, very quick from a stop light. However, the driving "feel" isn't like the Mazda CX9. They supposedly stiffened the suspensions, but the ride still feels very soft to me (some folks might prefer this). Also, it is a big car, so definite body roll around the corners. So its not going to feel like a sports car, but if you are looking for a good three row SUV, this is a good choice. Also, we were able to get this car for around 3K lower than the Toyota dealer was willing to go. Really loving this car!

Nissan Pathfinder Plat vs. Honda Pilot Touring
3-months ago I bought my wife a 2017 Honda Pilot Touring AWD and today offloaded it to the local Nissan dealership for a far superior 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum AWD midnight edition with family entertainment. Why you might ask? Because the technology in the Honda Pilot is far inferior than that of the NPF. Why would you put a rear seat entertainment system in a vehicle if you can't control it from the drivers seat. Ask Honda. It was impossible to start movies from the front of the car, which is completely useless. Why would you force a phone call made from your iPhone into what they call "private mode" and NOT let it play through bluetooth. Google this if you're comparing cars right now because it is a huge, known problem. That makes no sense. Finally, why won't you let us disable the engine auto start/stop feature through a setting rather than have to turn it on and off every time you start the car? Stupid feature, popular in Europe but what's the point. So you know what the Pathfinder does? Let's you control the rear seat entertainment system from the driver's seat, puts all calls through the bluetooth unless you decide to make it a private call, and doesn't shut your engine off at a light. Oh and the interior is awesome, ride is better and it feels like a much more well thought out vehicle. Add to the that Nissan rebates right now are the best in the market. I highly recommend this vehicle. If you're in the market and thinking about the Pilot, be wary of the technology.

3.5L V6 beating 1.8/2.0/2.5 L V4s
Way great mileage for 3.5L V6 (combined 25 mpg.WOW!), which is giving competition to V4 engines. Ride is really awesome, with better control. You may not even feel that you are moving at 65/70 MPH speed. It will feel very smooth, quite ride.

2017 Pathfinder Platinum
I've had the 2017 pathfinder for a few weeks now and I am really enjoying it. I have the platinum package with the entertainment system in the rear seats. Overall I am very pleased with the quality especially the interior which is comparable to a luxury vehicle. I checked out most competitors to include the Mazda and Toyota. The pathfinder had the most features I wanted such as cooled seats, panoramic roof and DVD system for rear seats. Something my daughter loves, she love looking out the roof and watching the monitors. The ride is nice and firm, just how I like it, the transmission is smooth and engine strong. What sold me on the pathfinder is the amount of features it includes such as safety features and the fact Nissan is aleauvs willing to make a deal to sell car. Toyota wanted to knock off 2500 off sticker on a 2016 while Nissan knocked off about 7k on a 2017 which was just unloaded and still wrapped in plastic. For 41k or thereabouts the pathfinder wins hands down

Cross Country Tow & Mountain Tour Test Scored A+
I've had this vehicle now for 15 months and I have grown to enjoy it more and more as time passes. The latest test was a 4000 mile RT on I-80 towing a loaded 5' X 8' U-Haul trailer in February and a mountain tour in the Rockies. The car did everything well. Mileage on the road is excellent for a 4600 lb. vehicle. It cruises well and the engine is responsive at all speeds, likely because of the continuously variable transmission. The CVT took a while to get used to, it is the first one I have owned but with a strong 3.5 liter V6 engine there really are no drawbacks and the associated fuel economy is a bonus. The car tracks straight on the highway and was virtually unfazed by 40 - 60 mph cross winds even towing the trailer; very stable. And the automatic 4WD coupled is a very secure experience driving over icy patches in a stiff crosswind on the high elevation interstate in SE Wyoming. In light slick snow the traction is very secure; you can see the rear wheels kick in when cornering and not have to worry about fishtailing. Ride is good but not cushy comfortable; there is a firmness to it and you can feel the bumps. The OEM Michelin Latitude tires soften impacts however and they have great traction in wet and snowy conditions. In the mountains I was extremely pleased with the suspension, handling, and steering; no body roll and a firm grip on the road. The CVT was also very satisfying descending steep grades; all you have to do is push a button on the shifter to take it out of overdrive and let the engine do the braking. The SV model comes with cloth seats which were very comfortable on the 8-10 hour drive days. NIssan could do better with the quality of the cloth but the surfaces were soft touch and we didn't want to pay for leather in the SL trim. We have been extremely happy with the cold weather package (front seat heaters and heated steering wheel) - I was shocked that I could buy a heated steering wheel for such a reasonable cost on a lower trim level (although packed with value options). We were attracted to this model first by the spacious middle seat and large doors. The seat is wide to seat three medium sized adults, sits up a bit higher than the front seats and has outstanding legroom like most of the cars from the 50's and early 60's had. The third seat is really for kids or petite adults but when folded down provides a large cargo area which we used on our two week trip. When the third seat is set up my wife likes the size of the reduced cargo area when stowing groceries but some may think it is too small. This model was freshened for 2017 and Nissan seemed to do a good job correcting all the model's driving weaknesses that I have read about. I looked at the 2018's and discovered that there are hardly any changes so all my comments should apply to the current model year. We plan on keeping this vehicle at least seven years as we enjoy driving it, the car is very functional for what an SUV should do, and the first two seat rows are so roomy and comfortable. I wasn't sure I would like it this much when I purchased it.

Nice good looking ride!
The transmission shifts better than the Highlander. We found the Highlander shifts funny with its 6 speed transmission. We bought the SL with 20" wheels. Very good ride and handling. No reliabilty issues thus far with 8000+ miles. Havn't towed with it yet but looking forward to being able to tow up to 6000 lbs. Dont like the Cruise Control because you cant turn off the forward looking feature. Love the all around parking camera. Great value for the money.
My Second Pathfinder
I traded my 2013 Pathfinder at 66,000 miles for new 2018 model. Prior to purchase of my 2013 model, I test drove Pilot, Highlander, Traverse, Mazda CX-5, Cherokee and Sorrento. Pathfinder was best value for ride, room and overall performance for this class SUV. Very easy to get to 3rd row seats, with just as much room as the others (ignore experts’ comment about the room. 3rd row seats are always for small kids for this class vehicle). Was pleased with my first Pathfinder; even more pleased with second Pathfinder with added features, conveniences and safety. My 3rd vehicle with CVT; love that smooth "no-shift" transmission. One-year Update: 12,680 miles later, still feel the same. 2-year update: 23K miles later. Continuing to enjoy my Nissan Pathfinder's ride. reliability and mileage. At 34K miles, my Pathfinder going well, living up to reliability, good gas mileage and smooth ride with CVT. Pondering that new 2022 model Pathfinder; looks great, but no more CVT.

AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, WE FOUND OUR WINNER!
If you are looking for an SUV that can handle 2 tall adult front seat passengers, 1 large dog as a second seat passenger and a wheelchair and lots of luggage (or groceries or yard supplies or even a few children with the load)... and carry them all in comfort, with the latest driver assist features, ease of operation and style (plus safety!)... then the Nissan Pathfinder SL FWD is the vehicle you are looking for. The high quality of materials, fit and finish is exceptional for the price and the versatility of the vehicle is endless. We especially like the way the instrumentation is laid out and ease of reach for all features. The GPS is awesome and the large screen shows mapping with great ease and details. Music experience is awesome as you can adjust every aspect of your music experience. I especially like the 'all around' cameras, as it makes parking in the garage a breeze and warns of vehicles to close to you on the road... a great safety and convenience feature, which is enhanced with the large screen with sharp picture. Leather seating is supple and the seat heaters (and steering wheel heater) work very well. The entire cockpit has style and luxury in it, with features normally only found in higher models, of greater cost. We are thrilled with our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL and love the metallic red garnet color and beige leather interior with black accents. Like the title of this review states... after extensive research, we found our winner... and it has proven to exceed our expectations and has friends wishing they had one. *** UPDATE *** We are just over 2.5 years from our date if purchase and our initial review still stands. We have done several long road trips with our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder and found it to be a surprisingly smooth ride and very safe in bad weather. The fuel economy has been right at manufacture's listing and maintenance has only been the required items at manufacture schedule dates. We could not be happier with our Pathfinder. P. S. ... all the cameras for parking are awesome!!! *** 3yr UPDATE *** This Nissan Pathfinder still has been a solid performer and remains quiet, with no rattles that some vehicles develop with age. The paint finish is still as vibrant and shiny as it was when first brought home. If we ever need another vehicle, the Nissan Pathfinder will be at the top of our list! We are still very much pleased with our Pathfinder, as is our Standard Poodle Fiona. ***** 4 yr UPDATE ***** Still running strong! Just had an oil change and added new wiper blades, cabin air filter and engine air filter to the services... our first expenses above oil changes, which ain't bad... but Pathfinder only has 25,236 miles on it. Once we get our second COVID-19 shots, we plan to take some longer trips, as the Pathfinder is so effortless to drive on the open road. Still no rattles or unexpected expenses... do need to have the injectors serviced next month, which will provide even more horsepower to acceleration... Holy moly! If we had to buy another SUV, the Pathfinder would be it... although that new 2022 Rouge is looking good. That's all for now... still smooth sailing with our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL... still love it! ***** 5YR. UPDATE ***** Still going strong with only 30,400 miles on the odometer! ****** FINAL UPDATE ****** 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SE has been sold.

New Pathfinder
We have only had out new 2017 Pathfinder for a couple weeks but love it already. the vehicle is roomy and very comfortable and did well after the recent storms. It has every safety feature and we are still learning all the tech features. Update: After owning the Pathfinder for a couple years we still love it. It is comfortable on trips or around town. The only trouble we have had with the vehicle has been the rotors were warping in one of the wheels. My dealer took care of everything no charge.

Horrible and unsafe
We traded in a 2008 Nissan pathfinder for a brand new 2017 pathfinder, since we loved our first one so much. What a huge mistake that was. Within the first year the entire transmission needed to be replaced The following year It started having electrical issues. Shortly thereafter all of the tires in all 4 brakes had to be replaced with less than 50000 miles on the car and 2 full years of owning it. Just recently the car started shutting off on us as we were driving! I took it back in and they said they could not replicate the problem. Not even 6 months later it started doing it again and the rear brakes started squealing and causing the rear end of the car to shake. We had just put brand new brakes on the car less than a year and a 1/2 ago. So another $700 later the car needed a new battery, rear brakes, and rear rotors. This car is a definition of lemon.
Great vehicle for the purposes!
Amazing responsive acceleration. This vehicle is faster stronger and cheaper than honda , ford or toyota models. Along with the superior performance you get 6000lb towing capacity. It wont be in the shop except for oil changes because you are driving all over the place in it.

Transmission issues
I have had this vehicle for 10 months now and it's been in the shop four times for the same issue. After driving my vehicle for a while, it cuts out on turns and will not accelerate. I have had four different people in the vehicle with me that will attest to this occurring. I love the vehicle style, aside from several minor squeaking issues in the moonroof and back panel and behind driver's seat. I guess I just got a lemon! Nissan North America will not do anything about it, however. so be prepared for a fight when you have an issue and they won't help. The CVT transmission is crap!

2nd Time Around
I traded a 2015 Pathfinder for the 2018 Model. Ride is much improved with greater noise reduction (what I didn't like about the 2015), and the power is always there when I need it. Living in the Midwest, you just don't know what the weather will bring, from driving rains, gusty winds, or heavy snow and that can be all in one week. The Pathfinder does great in all of these conditions and if you have ever driven on Michigan roads, you need a vehicle that can handle the lack of maintenance that we experience. Haven't had a vehicle problem on the first Pathfinder and don't anticipate having one with this Pathfinder.

Luxury "Minivan" in SUV configuration
test drove used 2016 base QX60 with low miles side by side at same dealership for comparison, fit and finish on Infiniti noticeably better and comfort subtly better. the used Infiniti at ~$3K less than a new loaded Platinum PF with most (maybe all?) of the safety features of brand new QX60 = PF won. the fit, finish and ride were nice but not differentiated enough to be an offsetting factor for this consumer. comparing the Platinum PF to a brand new QX60 (which we did not test drive) with similar options, the ~$10K difference was not enough to justify. advise to use online tools to get best price (bought for WAY under MSRP after all rebates included), essentially exactly the Edmunds price quoted by dealrship for the new car and using an unbiased condition assessment of our trade-in based on Edmunds value as well.

Pathfinder helped us find our path.
In January 2017, we bought this vehicle used (approx 7200 miles at the time) and was replacing our 2005 Pathfinder. Waited 1-year and 1 long road trip to write this review. For overall daily use, this vehicle is great and has served us well (regular family of 4 stuff (2 kids)). Would take day-trips for our daughter's high school band competitions throughout the spring and fall semesters and has performed well in those situations. Our real test came in Dec 2018 in taking a road trip from northern California to Iowa for the Holidays (approx 2000 miles over 2.5 days there and then 1.5 weeks later, approx 2000 miles over 3 days back). This vehicle handled the mountain passes (interstate roads) great and the long days of traveling (approx 10-12 hours driving time per day). We averaged about 23-24 mpg for the whole trip. The convenience features really served us well, especially the remote-start where it heats up the inside when it was very cold outside. Navigation was very good and got us to where we needed to. We noticed however, the estimated time of arrival seems to be greatly over-estimated because over the day, we shaved off almost 1.5 hours each day. Perhaps it's meant to over-estimate based on actual speed limit of the roads versus one's actual rate of speed. The only negative with the navigation is to have better integration with our phones (android and apple) versus having to use the Nissan navigation. But we do have the Nissan Connect Services (NCS) app so we can directions directly to the vehicle (along with remote-start, remote lock-unlock, and other vehicle alerts and maintenance updates). The NCS app also offers alerts, if you set it up, for vehicle speed limits, find my vehicle, and boundary alert if the vehicle goes further than a specified boundary (for example, if you valet park your vehicle). There is an option to send directions from google maps to the car, not in NCS app, that I have not been able to get working, but haven't had to bring it in to learn or fix what I may be doing wrong since we manage maps/navigation as stated before with NCS and manually entering directions in the vehicle. Overall, a great vehicle and so far, great reliability that was able to handle a 4,000 mile road trip to get may family safely back home.

Money Pit
Car is horrible. Every other month something is wrong with it. I still owe money, or I would immediately get rid of and buy a Toyota. The car is only 5 years old and shouldn't have these many problems. I bought in 2020. Alternator (2), severe oil leak, ac compressor, oxygen sensors is just a starting list. I have put a lot of money into this vehicle.

Pay the extra for a toyota
The interior is black, it looks worn with only 45,000 miles, headlights have been replaced under warranty due to moisture issues. Rear view camera gets stuck on sometimes. Antifreeze odor in engine compartment dealer says is normal. Engine continues to run at 1200 rpm when trying to stop, Nissan found no problem but it makes stopping a task. Drivers door pops, loose hinge fixed under warranty. Heat doesn’t blow very well in front. Ac compressor vibrates and is noisy. Driver seat malfunctioned with seat reclining on its own. Nissan you got me once but never again.

Great SUV
I use to wotk for Nissan and after years of going back and forth with the wife about her van...now I own what I consider a well built car. I've owned mine for about a year, it's got great acceleration. That and being teamed up with the CV trans which just builds torque with no shifting is unbelievable. I have done some towing and had no issues with lack of power. I bought the SL trim package which has extra USB ports, towing, and front and second row heated seats plus more. The pathfinder had some redesigning done which actually makes it more appealing. The ride I consider very smooth but getting use to the location of some of the creature/comfort features will take some time. The audio is great, 13 speaker Boss system, Nissan always seemed to put good stereos in their vehicals. So far this SUV is great! I would highly recommend the Nissan Pathfinder to anyone looking for a well built vehicle for a great price.

Apple a day doesn't.......
My previous comments still apply....While other models of 2018 has Apple CarPlay, the Pathfinder does not. My wife's 2018 Honda Accord has Apple CarPlay, It is a snap to use use, convenient, accurate, easy to use, everything the Nissan navigation system is lacking. one other negative; Cargo space with 3rd row seats up, is woeful ( luggage rack crossbars should've been standard). I have had four other Pathfinders since 1988 - all great vehicles. Now for the good news. Excellent mileage, comfortable, easy and fun to drive. Front and second seats plenty of room, and love the tilt down side mirrors feature when backing up, and my wife is all for the heated steering wheel. Plenty of towing power - everything one would expect in a Pathfinder. So, if you have patience for the navigation system and cargo space it's not a factor, this is a great car and except for the lack of AppleCar Play, I be hard pressed not to buy it again. Cargo space can't be changed. Crossbars could have at least be discounted, but...no big deal Love the car - not happy that AppleCar Play at least not an option.

Great drive for great price
Price-Value very high in comparison with other vehicles in its class. Very nice ride, maneuverability, acceleration, great on snow (12 days of snow in past two weeks; no problem with Pathfinder). Very peppy, even on the mountain roads between home in N. Nevada back and forth to California.

Good, Good Good Good vibrations
Bought a 2018 Pathfinder replacing a 2005 Infinity QX56. A little downsizing. At 500 miles had to have one tire replaced for being out of round creating major vibration. At 6000 miles had all tires replaced by tire manufacturer due to constant vibration after several attempts to balance had failed. Still vibrates. Took it into dealership and was informed by service advisor that their Nissan Rep, who was visiting dealership that day, informed them that the vibration is a known characteristic of the vehicle and that if I placed Michelin tires on it it would cure the vibration. Nissan corporate informs me there is nothing they can do. Have test driven 2 other 2018 Pathfinders and they have same issue. Vibration is bad. Would not recommend this vehicle

Best vehicle I have ever bought.
I looked at one on a whim and it ticked all the boxes for us. I did an online check and saw that it is rated 15 out of 29 for 7 passenger SUVs. I have test drove nearly all of those 29 and this is the safest most sturdy feeling SUV I found. I love the 4x4 option and the tow package. I have the Platinum version and my children love the reclining and adjustable seating and the TVs in the headrests. It is a great vehicle. I wish I had bought one years ago. It is better than I ever expected and I will continue to purchase Nissan.

I still have it!
I don't think I've had the car long enough to rate it on some of things asked above, but so far, I really like it. It is very comfortable and I do like the way it handles while driving....there are a few things I am getting used to such as the the back up camera. I was wanting a Ford Explorer but I think I came away with more for the money. I am hoping to get better MPG, but I think that has to do with getting to know the car. *** I've now had the car for a year-and-a-half and while I still like it, there was a problem with the screen. Unfortunately the dealership did not follow through when I first reported the problem due to some changes in their personnel. Therefore I fell through the cracks! When the part was finally ordered it took a little more than a month to get it so I was without radio, Bluetooth, and all the other things that go with the screen on the dash. I tend to keep my vehicles for a long time so I figure that if there is going to be another problem it will be when the car is 2 years old. At that point I will know whether or not I will ever buy another Nissan. And just to demonstrate how long I keep my cars, I have a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid that I kept for 10 years and have passed down to my son and that car has hardly ever given me a problem. Going on 3 years and still doing well. The screen continues to go out on occasion, but it is rare (every 3 to 4 months) and it comes back on. It'll be 5years this coming December and I still own it. I've had several offers for it but i will have it paid off in 2 months. I hope it continues to give me good service. My only complaint at this point are the front seat seat belts. Passenger side gets stuck. ********** My Pathfinder will soon be 7! Looks like I'll be keeping it a while longer. Unfortunately, I spilled some paint in the back floor so I will not get a lot as a trade, and since I have no major considerations or worries I am just fine. I may just buy a small get around town car, and keep this one for family outings. It still looks good and my seats are still very comfortable. Gas MPG has been average of 22 -24, in town, with 26 on the road. I can seat 7 and 2 small dogs, or 5 with 3 small dogs and 1 Lab. All are comfy.

Great platinum trim level
Bought the wife one and two years later I get the same exact one just a little newer. You do have to adapt to the cvt and understand where and when the "gears" will change in order to continue accelerating through the roads so it doesn't downshift and rev up. The vehicles are great value. The best leg room of any SUV on market and that's a fact for both front and rear seat. Both the 2015 and our 2017 had hood issues. When going over 70-80mph on interstate, the hood would look like it's going to fly up and off so we took them in to be tightened. The 2017 platinum sits a little squatty like and people flash me a lot thinking I have my brights on. The headlights are extremely bright and you can tell when on low beam they're a little high. Feel bad for some oncoming drivers. City/highway avg 19.5mpg at 14,000 miles.
Most favorite vehicle ever
I love cars and trade every couple of years. I have had a Jeep Wrangler, convertible, other SUV’s and many sedans. I bought my 2018 Nissan Pathfinder Midnight edition 2 years ago, and it is without a doubt my most favorite vehicle I have ever owned. Big enough but not too big. Very comfortable on long trips, lots of acceleration when needed. The camera options are fantastic and yes the third row is a bit tight, but completely adequate for the times that I have needed it. The back cargo area (with the 3rd row laid down) has fit some very large pieces of furniture! I love this car and other than tires & maintenance, I have had virtually no issues from it. I did have to replace a gasket that was leaking some oil a few months back but that is the only repair and I am currently at 109k miles. Great car!

My backup camera gets stuck and shows me driving Down the road and seeing people behind me Nissan refuse to fix this issue I have videos of this and they said it’s not a safety concern

Pathfinder 4WD
I have owned this vehicle less than one week, my previous vehicle was a 2010 Volvo S80. I purchased this as a towing and gear transport vehicle since I am retired and planning on trips to help out with disaster relief and rebuilding both locally and within the USA. It is a surprisingly quiet and well mannered road vehicle. I have not ventured off road with it but that will happen on hunting trips. I was not looking for the Platinum trim level but I did want 4WD and that option is not very common in this area, so this was one of few used vehicles to choose from. I am not dissapointed, and in fact am impressed with what Nissan has done with this.

2014 S 2 wheel drive Pathfinder
Overall happy with the vehicle. Had for 3 1/2 years. Ready to trade in for another one. Only slight problem was every time I would back out of my driveway and shift the vehicle from reverse to drive then accelerate I would here a very slight popping sound. Took it into Nissan and they replace something that had to do with the transmission CVT. However, it still made the sound. By the way Nissan has great service. (Ed Hicks in Corpus Christi, TX.)

Good car until the fob doesn't work.
Bought new in 2018. Good car until the fob has problems. Wouldn't start the car or lock or unlock. AAA couldn't get it started. Nothing in owner's manual as they want you to get the car towed to a dealer where they spend several hours at $150/hr trying to diagnose the problem. No more Nissan for me.
Awesome ride all the creature comforts
Buy a used one and save money

Very nice rental, but couldn't live with.
The first few days with the Pathfinder SL with Premium Package I thought I found my next new vehicle. My daily driver is a 16 Corolla S, my weekender is a MKIII Supra, and my wife has a 15 Camry XSE V6. After living with it for a few weeks and nearly 5000 miles, I became less enamored. The first thing that I fell in love with was the ride comfort, even with the 20 inch wheels. I was thinking it would be awful, as I previously owned a 13 Equinox V6 with 18's that was horrible. I still love the ride, it is one of the best. The steering is dreadful, however, during cornering as the power steering pulses between too much assist and too little, and instead of gracefully cornering, it feels like it is zig-zagging. I test drove other Pathfinders to see if it was just a problem with the rental, as I was serious about purchasing one, and they did it as well. That nice comfortable ride? Still love it, but Nissan could use thicker sway bars to make the SUV feel more secure when the road starts turning. The giant exterior mirrors are nice, but when combined with the thick A-pillar, has a massive blind spot that can hide small cars. The blind spot monitors work very well, but the warnings are ill placed, not in the mirrors where your eyes are looking, but 8 inches down close to the base of the door and A-pillar. One has to do a little bit of a two-step. The CVT in the Pathfinder, and Nissans in general, is just a bit better than the CVT in the Mitsubishi SUV's. Toyota has did a nice job with the Corolla's CVT, as did Honda with theirs. Plus, in a $40k+ vehicle, a CVT shouldn't even be considered, an 8-speed auto should be the minimum. The interior is nice and well appointed, it feels right. Nissan did a great job here. No rough edges, the leather is nice, it feels like it belongs in a vehicle with a little higher price tag. And it has a comfortable ride. The Bluetooth pairs well. That is the best of the infotainment. The navigation is easy to use, but if you want a full map, it won't tell you the next turn until you are up on it, although if you half-screen the map, it will give turn information like exit number, street name and distance. With full screen, it does not tell you exit number of street name, only distance and direction, until you are within a 1/4 mile of the exit/turn. This is bad when there are several roads in close proximity. The hands free voice activation for phones is horrible! My $20k Corolla S understands every command perfectly, the Pathfinder cannot understand anything. The Bose sound system is nice and clear, worth the expense. Now, the controls for the climate and radio are very poor, not intuitive at all. Even after all the time I have spent in the Pathfinder, I still have to take my eyes off the road to make any adjustment. My Toyota's do not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and neither does this Pathfinder, but the 2019 does. This is not a deal breaker, but is nice to have. The panoramic roof is one small tilt/slide glass panel over the front seats, with a large, non-moving glass panel with sliding sunshade over the 2nd and 3rd rows. Fuel mileage is quite a surprise, as I am seeing about 24mpg combined, a little better than advertised. This can be attributed to the CVT, but an 8+ speed would be similar. As for the CVT, I would not want to tow anything with it. Overall, though, it is a nice vehicle, I could probably live with some of its shortcomings if I got a great deal on one. At $42k MSRP, however, getting another 3-row crossover with every option this has would cost several thousand more (Kia Sorento with rear seat heaters is nearly $45k MSRP). One could do worse than getting the Pathfinder, but there are better, too. And, even with the 20" wheels, it has a nice, comfortable ride. Maybe I'm getting old and need to sell my Supra and get a Buick.....

2nd Nissan Pathfinder Platinum
I own a 2018 Pathfinder and before that owned a 2016. I could not be happier with the vehicle. It is powerful, inside is quiet and comfortable. The safety features on the 2018 are outstanding, especially love the surround view camera when parking and pulling out of places. The Bose stereo sound is amazing. Tow capacity is great. I keep looking for better fit of a vehicle for me but can't find one. Not sure why the reviews are always lackluster. Other leading SUV's don't offer same level/combination of comfort, towing power or quiet ride.

Love my Pathfinder!
We compared 4 vehicles before purchasing our Pathfinder. For the 5 seat models, the Rav4 and Rouge, Rouge won for comfort, size and "solid feeling". We compared the Highlander and Pathfinder, again finding the Nissan Pathfinder more comfortable. The Pathfinder gave the feeling of bing roomier and more "solid". The Pathfinder was our final choice and we've been very happy with the decision!

Best bang for the buck
Pathfinders are offered at a deep discount for a reason, which you can read about in professional reviews, but they are an excellent value. Comfortable, drives well, decent fuel economy, and I have not had any issues in 2 years. If you want to save money and get a large SUV that is functional and performs well without trips to the dealer, look no further. If you own it for 3 to 5 years the resale value is not too bad either. Remember you did save a lot off the sticker when you bought it.

2018 Pathfinder is a mess
I bought the brand new 2018 Pathfinder 6 months ago and had faced battery drainage issues twice already. Both times I had to jump start and charge the battery to resolve the problem. Cant depend on this for emergency needs, just treat this as a spare vehicle. Most of all Nissan consumer support is of no use when contacted, poor design or cheap component. Don’t go for this.
Nissan Pathfinder 2018 SV is worth the value.
Shoppers should test drive this SUV a great comfort ride.

Avoid - issues with the CVT Transmission
The CVT Transmission is flawed - Nissan has had issues with it from the start. If you dig into this you will also find out that due to the underlining design flaws of this transmission, there is no surefire way to prevent problems. So I would avoid this vehicle unless you enjoy working on transmissions.
