Perfect Investment, Multi State/Terrain Trips
I have a 2014 Platinum Pathfinder Limited, which has all of the options. Best investment I've ever made. Perfect for long distance trips with family. Awesome headrest monitors for movies, audio system, etc. My passengers all love it. Powerful engine, quiet cabin, smooth ride, quality leather, panoramic sun-roofs, comfy seats (3 rows), awesome AWD on snow. Navigation is wonderful, especially for traveling to places I've never been. Very aerodynamic and saves gas for such large SUV...approx 22mpg ave (city/hwy). CVT transmission can be quirky when driving up the hill at only 5mph because it tries to adjust between different gears. All you need to do is speed up a bit to get it into one gear. If you have issues, have the CVT/gear/speed software get calibrated appropriately...some dealerships actually don't have mechanics that can do this. Transmission is perfect for high speeds and acceleration...most smooth ride I've ever experienced. Front passenger seat may also need software calibration if the airbag sensor is not detecting a light-weight, small person. If you weigh less than around 100 lbs, then it might not detect you, which you would need the dealership to calibrate the software. Again, some dealerships may not have the proper mechanics to do this. In the small town I lived in, they actually only had the master mechanic from a large city come in on certain days to do these calibrations. If you're having issues, most likely it's the software...nothing wrong with actual hardware/physical parts.

Nice, but.......
Bought mine used. 18,000 miles. Fully loaded including headrest tv ministers thru out. I love this vehicle inside. But the problems start externally. Let's start with the transmission. It has a known ghost of an issue. Nissan never did get to the bottom of It! Today is 7/1/18. My Nissan is a 2014. Nissan has been working on the said tranny problem. And has also extended powertrain warrant another 85,000 miles. Issue #2 Is the braking system. 38,000 miles all 4 brake pads are completely worn. I have 4 vehicles in my driveway with 130,000 miles and still on original brakes! With that being said Nissan fails to admit there is an issue. Issue #3 Is tires!!! Again at 38,000 miles the tires are shot. 38,000 miles isn't bad for most new vehicles. As the manufacturer tends to choose the quiet decent performing tire. That means soft compound that wears out fast. My Toyota went 29,000 to give you an idea. However Nissan pathfinder has a major caster/camber issue. AKA alignment. My tires are not shot from mileage. The outsides of all 4 tires are down to the cords. While the inside has still good tread. Nissan fails to admit an issue. Yes my tires were rotated properly every oil change. (Done at the dealership). Issue #3. The exterior trim and mold pieces tend to fall off come unattached. At 38,000 miles I had to have my trim and mouldings replaced. Issue#4. The paint looks nice. But it scratches very easy. The paint used cannot be touched up. The entire vehicle has to be repainted. So if you get in a fender bender....be prepared to repaint the entire vehicle. On the brighter side of this vehicle is an awesome sound system. Ours being platinum has a awesome sound system. Everything inside is cozy and fun. The 3.5 liter engine is a Nissan flagship! It's an excellent engine. Our vehicle cost around 45 to 50,000!! I'm very disappointed considering all the premature issues. And the hefty price tag. I would considering getting back to Toyota! And for what it's worth my father purchased a 2016 pathfinder. He is having the same issues with exception of the transmission problem. We bought ours at the same time! Double trouble! Also I would like to mention my wife has put all the miles on our pathfinder. So it's been driven real mild! No size 13 shoes pinning the pedals to the floor!!!!

Bad Transmision
***Dec. 6th Update** Last night check engine light and low oil pressure light came on. Took the truck back to dealer and was told the engine is gone. Only 34k miles and engine is gone. They couldn't see this 2 weeks ago when they had it? Now waiting for Nissan Corporation to contact me back on what they want to do. At this point, they can put the truck where the sun don't shine.*** I brought my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder SV March 2018. I purchased it with 27k miles. The truck now has 33k miles. I only had the truck for7 months. Every time I would start the truck, smoke would come out of the tail pipe. It was not the ordinary smoke that emits from the tail pipe. I took it to my mechanic and he told me oil was dripping from the engine into the cylinders. I contacted Nissan Corporate Office. I took it to the Nissan dealership and was told the transmission and wheel barren were bad. The dealership had my truck for a week. After returning the truck back to me, they claimed they fixed the transmission and wheel barren. 1 day later, smoke is coming out of tail pipe again every time I would start the engine in the morning. Contacted Nissan Corporate office and Nissan dealership to let them know the issues. I only had this truck for 7 months and having MAJOR issues on it already with only 33k miles. Makes no sense. This is my second Nissan Pathfinder, used to own a 2005. Had issues at 75K miles. I am done with Nissan. Stay away from them. Trying to get rid of this one and get a Toyota or Honda.

Love this car
Bought my 2014 SL 4x4 in Aug. 2013. I already have 21k miles on it. We bought this car for the incredible leg room and the towing capacity & we had previously owned a 2007 pathfinder & had no problems with it. At between 3k - 5k miles we did experience the shudder, took it into the dealer, they fixed it & we haven't had any problems since. This is a great car. Smooth ride, great features, love the leg room, good gas mileage, fun to drive, reasonably priced & we have had tons of compliments on it.
I work for VW and drive a pathfinder
The Nissan pathfinder is the best overall suv you will ever buy, longer lasting less maintenance, less expensive than most but not just a better value they drive awesome with the cvt transmission, they are quality built and so very comfy if you have kids. Get the sl version it's just below the platinum the top level but you have the option to get the premium package that has the full sky light sunroof I. The back the Bose and the heated seats and super premium leather. Everything about it makes so much more sense than all the crap new do serif SUVs that are more expensive and just break down. There is not one suv that literally beats the pathfinder in looks(sexy mobile) or anything else
Transmission Problems
we just turned over 13,000km and the transmission failed. The Nissan dealer outlined they ordered a new one and would install it at no charge. Good deal. Problem- They put a remanufactured transmission in a brand new vehicle. BAD BAD BAD. Check the warranty documents as they are allowed to do this under their manufacturers warranty. I cannot believe that you spend 50K on a new vehicle and when you have a problem they put a USED transmission in it and call it new....
Transmission Issues
Like many posters here, we're having serious issues with our Nissan Pathfinder transmission. At low RPMs the entire car shakes. We've had it in for service several times. The issue has yet to be resolved. There are less than 10K miles on the car.
nissan needs to recall the transmission
the transimission on the 2014 pathfinders is junk, I have 1 with 84,000 miles and one with 72,000 miles and a nisan quest with 95000 miles and they afre all complete junk! do nt buy it unless they recall the transmission, Nissan is showing what kind of company they are knowing this issue and completely ignoring it!

Pathfinder-well worth it.
I bought my pathfinder new in a summer month of 2014 with all of the bells and whistles! It is as good looking as an SUV can be, handles well, hauls a lot, has a lot of handy places to put "stuff"and has been as good of a luxury utility vehicle as I could have expected. My only complaints are the heated seats are air and not electric which is the case with all Nissans I believe...so that's not really even a compliant, just a spoiled driver...and I cannot see well when making turns-I have to lean so I can see around the, (I don't know what to call it, the structure that is attached to the windshield, the roof, the main car body, and the front windows...I'm going to call this the arms for now) arms. All in all, a good all around vehicle, especially while I have children to lug around to a million activities!

You get what you pay for
Everyone here complaining about the pathfinder want something better pay for the price this suv does the job. Drives good has good space yeah material looks cheap but i don't want it to sleep in 😂 Gets me around does what is has to do for the price. Couldn't afford more so i settle for this.Theirs other 3rd row suv way far worst unreliable and more problematic mechanically. Every car will have their downs they are not perfect!!! Rent one lease try it out before you decide .always maintain it also when suppose to to avoid major issues

Over 78k miles and Still going strong
I’ve owned this car since 12/2013. We drive from the Midwest to the east coast and back at least once a year and we’ve had zero issues. Great family SUV. Traction and handling in snow is fantastic. January 2015, I towed a 12ft U-Haul trailer from the Midwest to East coast and hit in a brutal snow storm in Indiana. The snow was so bad the highway was at one-lane that you really couldn’t even see. The Pathfinder has zero issues during the drive and even with towing that large of a trailer, I never felt the handling was lacking.

Two years, nice car
Replaced our 2013 Avalanche LTZ, this Pathfinder Platinum Premium had all of the premium features you can expect in a luxury ride. After owning this for two years we have had virtually no issues, aside from a programming issue with the auto tailgate. Only problem now is the resale value is lacking. $45k sticker, paid $41k out the door at two years the dealer offered us $29k trade in.

2014 Pathfinder with transmission and brakes issues
Hello, I purchased a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder in october 2013 and the following day it started shuddering at around 20mph and the steering wheel would start vibrate at 50mph. Then I had a weird feeling when using the brakes and they told me it was normal I told Nissan, they did not mention the issues the 2013 model had... I had to find out by myself online...I should have done my homework before... I also noticed a loss of power when accelerating and the gas mileage is between 15 and 19 after driving it for 3 months. I received a recall notification a few weeks ago for the barkes and my car is going to the shop again tomorrow. I had to fight to get a rental car while they work on it...
Seven Years and still running perfect
I have been using Pathfinder Platinum for 7 years and it has no issues. I kept it maintained regularly with the original nissan dealer. Transmission, engine and driveline everything is running good so far. I read some reviews saying it skids on turns, it only happens when 4x4 is on because when turning with 4x4 all wheels works same speed and their turning radius is different.

Excellent value for the money
So, far we've been very impressed with our SL Pathfinder. The Tech Package seems like a worthwhile option with the Navigation as well as the Bose Waveguide system. The SUV drives like a car; extremely smooth and capable. Some reviews take a shot at the Pathfinder's V6 as being sluggish, but let me tell you, the car has no problems accelerating quickly up to 80mph when passing; its very responsive. Front and back seat room is ample, and the cargo area isn't shabby either. The leather seating and surfaces are soft, and supple. I'm not a fan of some of the plastics used, but hey, its not an Infiniti. Provided the car holds up mechanically, the Pathfinder will be ours for years to come.
great car but front wheel bearing issue 1 yr old
the paint seems a little poor/thin. The car itself, design, size, all excellent. I love this car compared to old older boxy 2011 pathfinder. My front wheel bearings went and my front tire premature wear. Other wise if you travel need room or have a business that needs to haul this baby can haul from behind/trailer and you can fit an entire sheet of drywall side to side. Wont find that on any current SUV models similar to Pathfinder. I do wish for taller people they would make the rear gate door go up higher I keep hitting my head on it but not as bad as the 2011 pathfinder box type. Maybe raise the rear door height 5 more inches. Was getting only 17.4 MPG but after wheel bearing repair it rose to 22.9MPG

Overall pleased. Love our car.
There are multiple blind spots/ poor visibility. We personally have had major problems with our transmission but the dealership support has been very good at dealing with and paying for the repairs and replacement though it has already been a three month process.

Good when its working
Our 2014 Pathfinder is great - when its working. However, the reliability since we've owned it has been horrible. It is now 2021 so the vehicle is now 7-8 years old approaching 100k miles. We have had major problems throughout our ownership. Brakes and rotors constantly going bad early. Exhaust system deteriorated much early than expected and had to have major repairs. The A/C had to be replaced. Now the front struts have deteriorated to the point the vehicle is undrivable, and while investigating that our trustworthy repair shop found a rear broken spring. The base design of the vehicle is good and when its working it is fine. But it seems the parts used in building these vehicles were the worst of the worst, cheapest most unreliable parts I've ever seen in vehicles my wife and I have experience in our combined 100 years on this earth.
Best Value
I have been very happy w/ my '14 Pathfinder Platinum since taking delivery 3 weeks ago. I felt this vehicle was the best value in this category. I also strongly considered the GMC Acadia and favored the electronics on the GMC, but the drivers seat in Pathfinder and price for the amount of options out weighed the GMC.
So far so good
I have owned my pathfinder a month and still love it. I have put on 1500 miles so far. I purchased the premium platinum package with the rear DVD system and the biggest problem we have is the kids fighting over which DVD to watch. I went from a GMC Yukon and was worried at first about going to a smaller SUV but I was pleasantly surprised how roomy the interior actually is. I have not had any of the transmission problems that I have read about in the other reviews the pathfinder is really a fun car to drive.
great car so far
We bought this pathfinder back in Oct 2013 we have put over 15,000km on it and have had no problems up until after the first oil change and tire rotation.... since then its been making a loud noise and the faster we go the louder it gets it almost sounds like a lawn mower or weed wacker when we get up to 110-120km per hour!! if I put the car in N and rev it up I do not here the sound only when I am driving. I love this car but this noise is not cool I guess Ill find out what it is when it goes in today. other then that I have had not other issues other then the recalls which can be expected when you launch a new model, it always takes time to work out the unexpected bugs.
Great Family Car
This car has everything that we wanted and needed for a family car. The best feature that this car comes with is the sliding rows. When you have children in a car seat is that the middle you are able to completely move it forward without having to take the carseat out. Also the leg room in the front passenger has with a carseat in back is awesome. We traded in my two year old Ford Explorer to the Pathfinder because of the lack of leg room and every time someone needed to sit in the third row we needed to take the carseat out.
2015 SL PF
This car been good to me, no major problem what so ever, minor issue like wear and tear parts but anything else are ok. Ill recommending this product to anyone
great car, wrong combo of features
I test drove two late model Nissan Pathfinders and loved everything about them. The dimensions, handling, features (especially the panoramic sunroof), and cargo capacity with seats up, which was more than the Toyota Pathfinder. The problem was finding one with all of the desired features: lots of S, SL models with cloth seats but few - even in the Platinum model - with leather, a sunroof, and AWD. Plenty of leather and no sunroof, or sunroof and AWD but cloth seats, etc. Frustrating. Went with Infinity JX35: luxury version of Pathfinder, with right combo of features and good cargo space.

Nice ride! LOVE IT!
I LOVE my 2014 Pathfinder SL 4wd. It drives and handles nice and easy. It is "loaded" and has very comfortable leather seats and even has "heated" seats in front and back! Feels like I'm in a luxury vehicle when I'm behind the wheel. LOVE IT!

Lots of Bell's and Whistles
I know! Bad Tranny! Never need an issue in 103,000 miles, yes once in a while taking off from a stop I feel the "shudder" lot less annoying than feeling it shift up and down from every year like every other vehicle I've had. Bought an extended warranty to cover possible transmission issues and beat the hell out of it, hauling pontoon boat ect. Third row seating, all leather, 90 degree camera, tows 6,000 lbs! It's a brute that drives like a luxury car. I'm happy so far. They sold 90,000 in 2014 if there's 1,000 bad tranny's I'll play the odds.
Great vehicle never had a single issue
165,000 miles and not a single issue ..I still trust to drive it any place .
Biggest piece of crap I have ever driven.
I don't even know where to start. How about the transmission, close to $5000 that went out after 50,000 miles? Or the sun visors that wouldn't stay up, or the pitiful gas mileage. Sadly I could go on and on. This vehicle was maintained properly, and everything was done on time. I drive like the little old lady who only drives to church on Sunday. The stereo system was very nice. But that is kinda a lot to pay for a stereo system. My advice is to stay away from that vehicle unless you have and enjoy spending money on something you shouldn't have to. (why can't you give anything 0 stars?)

Great looking SUV
no more nissans after our pathfinder
After dealing with all of the problems we have had with our 2014 pathfinder I would not buy another nissan, at 110k miles the timing chain needed to be replaced numerous leaks, sensors fail and problem after problem with subpar expereince at the dealers service centre. They talk about a 10yr old car with 120k miles like we are lucky it is still driveable.
Just bought new SL with tech package.
Just bought a new Pathfinder SL with the tech package. I only have 400 miles on it so far, but it seems real solid. Great ride, quiet, and I like the seating position, which is very comfortable. Now have 50000 miles. Getting new tires. Still doing great.

Great for a family of 6
Thus SUV is great for long rides. Love the DVD players and room it's got. The extended warranty from nissan for the transmission issue is a huge win! I've read reviews about the stuttering issues... it's nice to know when my tranny goes it will be taken care of for free! This car is great on street and 4 wheeling! We take it every where and our family is large. Will buy Nissan again... probably a Titan will be next!

2014 Platinum
This has been the best vehicle that I have ever owned. It is very dependable. There are a few quirks about error messages but overall fantastic choice.
