NV200 First Impression
Yes, it only has a little over 100 miles, but after comparison to the Transit Connect, I decided to bring one home today. Better fit and finish, better ride and handling and priced less with the options. It is a peppy little van and it is deceivingly quick with CVT transmission. It doesn't seem quick but it pulls like an electric car, no shifting!. We got 30 mpg average on the trip home with A/C on and a 2000 foot elevation gain in 75 miles. I will update in a few weeks.
Poor quality control. Junk won’t last
I purchased my NV200 S new in 2015 with 12 miles on the odometer. Within the first couple of months I started to notice the lack of quality control on the van. Paint overspray from the factory on the dash, window seals warped. Exhaust hanger was defective, rattles when it’s cold. Wasn’t too worried about the cosmetic stuff. Then both sliding doors wouldn’t close right. Dealer replaced a few parts, still didn’t work right. I get a feeling the structure isn’t stiff enough, when the body flexes, it ruins the rails/latch alignment. Valve stem on 1 wheel randomly froze at 30k miles. Replaced under warranty. 45k miles, CVT occasionally kicks when taking off. Rear of the van eventually started creaking when turning on uneven surfaces. All the doors would freeze in cold temps. There wasn’t water in the cylinders/door jam. van was dry, they just froze because it’s junk. Even with warranty, dealer still charged $89 diagnosis fee just to tell me it’s normal for the locks to freeze, and normal to slam the sliding doors “because it’s a work truck”. So glad I sold that POS. I can’t see the CVT lasting more than 75k before it starts having major issues. Engine was reliable for 4 years/45k miles, so I give it 2 stars. I would never buy that Nissan junk again.

Replaced Transmission at 120,000
Unfortunately our shop bought 4 Nissan NV200s. Transmission went out in the oldest one already and I'm still making payments. You CANNOT rebuild this transmission. Had to purchase a whole new one because of how they are built. Only a 12,000 warranty. My transmission mechanic of 12 years has said he is replacing Nissan Nv200 transmission all the time because they are using plastic pieces now and and cannot be rebuilt. We used to get our old Ford and Chevy Cargo transmissions rebuilt for less than $2400 and Hurst would give a 100,000 mile warranty on his work. I am now looking to dump the rest of these pieces of junk!! I still own a Ford with 350,000 miles that had the transmission rebuilt at 205,000 miles for $1800. Sorry Nissan, if Toyota had a cargo van, I would buy them and replace the NV200.

Very Reliable vehicle
Some minor issues when first bought such as steering noises and vibrations at around 15k miles and tire wear issues doe to the fact that they are too small, went to 2 size bigger and aluminum rims and problem solved. Now have 40k miles and haven't had a single problem with this vehicle, hope it stays that way.

Nice Alternative for Small Business
I bought the NV 200 SV with the navigation and appearance package. The NV 200 is based on a car platform and feels more like a car than a truck. It has good fuel economy. Makes easily tight turns and has a lot of holes pre-drilled in the interior so you can install racks and stuff without the need to drill. It's probably the only light commercial truck with a 5 years, 60 thousand miles bumper to bumper warranty. Now, what can be better: the engine is under powered. The voice command system is useless as it misinterprets command all the time, the audio system is archaic, the tires feel flimsy and the back up camera doesn't have a sonar. No mechanical problems so far. Good and reliable city van. Not good for highway driving.

Buyer's remorse
I purchased this van after a bit of research. Every car has a few people that can't be made happy. I now have 17000 miles and bald tires. I didn't think much of it until I tried to buy new ones. Nissan dealers have the only load rated tires in the required size and they are quite proud of them. I discussed changing wheel size with my service advisor and any modification would void my warranty. $100/month for tires. The interior heat and air are very weak. The engine performance seemed good enough at test drive, but try carrying a light load and it is painfully, if not dangerously slow.
Great small cargo van
I purchased this vehicle for my business Oct 2013 and could not be happier. Bought fully loaded SV with all options. I have been using full size Ford and Chevy vans for over 20 yrs in auto glass trade and the Nissan's tall interior height combined with low floor make life much easier on the back. Averaging 25 mpg mixed and hitting 32 highway regularly. CVT transmission is very smooth and vehicle is sporty to drive around with little bit wider tire/rim combo 205/55/16. Factory headlights are plenty bright and wide,HID conversion not needed. Fairly quiet ride for cargo van. Great view of road especially out side glass compared Transit with 2 piece side with bar.
Excellent get-about
Pros: Great on gas and parking...shopping made easy. GPS system fantastic, exterior design awesome, topside mounting anchors for luggage rack excellent...double sliding doors made for exiting easy. Split rear windows(on mine) assist backing out-a little better. Makes for long distance drives fantastic. But, tight fit for large individuals to set comfortable... rear passengers seats should not be an option. Cons: driver front seat comfort sucks-right arm rest made for child size individual. Large front side view construction design makes for poor blind-spots...extra caution taken at stop lights and cross walks. Also, front side rearview mirrors block side view when making lift or right turns...back up monitor needs to remote viewing control-left/right, for backing out safety.

If it has the CVT transmission DO NOT PURCHASE
Van just hit 105k miles and transmission failed. Dealership wants $4300 and I called Nissan corporation consumer affairs and they said I'm out of luck. They only warranty 100k miles I'm 5000 miles over. What a piece of garbage company that puts out a bad product. No one expects a transmission to fail right around the 100k miles mark. That is unacceptable.
NV200
Although not the fastest van off the line, it has plenty of power and will reach highway speeds long before you get to the end of the on ramp. The cargo space has been enough for all the tools and equipment I have had to carry in my handyman jobs. Ride is to the plus side of OK and turning into tight spots has been a breeze. Visibility for changing lanes lacks, but the blind spot mirrors on each side help a lot, so learning to drive it is in order. The instrument panel is set up nicely and the steering wheel controls are easy and accessible. After the first thousand miles the gas mileage has been above the sticker of 24 and 25, getting 27.5 around town and 30 on the road even with some weight in the back. Overall I have been very happy with it and it has actually gone over my expectations for it. I test drove the Ford version and was not as impressed.

Great Cargo Van at a Great Price.
The 2013 has a very short warrentee 3/36k but the 2014- is 6/100k I would stick with the 2014 or newer for the reason only. otherwise they seem to be identical. I have owned two of these so far. If you rotate the tires and get alignments, like they suggest, the tires do not wear out quickly. Also to mention this van has a GVW of 4500lbs which is fairly light. If you over load this little thing you will squat the rear end, and because it has a solid axle the tires will toe out and wear funny. There are only 2 tires in the USA you can get for this van, both from nissan, one winter, one summer. Don't go the after market route as these are Load rated C tires which this van needs. This is not a bad thing though both tires are actually rather good tires and not over expensive. I was in a serious accident with one of my two vans... now i only have one. My van was hit by a 1 ton truck from behind and pushed us into something and hit us again. Our van was seriously damaged. The truck was damaged but not nearly as much as the van. That being said a 3000lb van was hit by a 1 ton truck and we were perfectly fine. The Van protected us from what could have been serious injuries. I am in the process of replacing the van. Love these NV's

NV 200 perfect for small business
I own a small cable/satellite company and needed a small van for service calls in Colorado. Found the NV200 had plenty of pep going up and down some of the larger mountain ranges. Used the overdrive a lot going down. 25 MPG fully loaded at 8000 feet plus. Hands free cell calls, XM radio and Navigation worked really well. During VERY cold days, left drivers food froze...Needs work on floor heater. Had problem with tire wear and had to replace in 14,000 miles. Right rear tire required shim to put in alignment. Also talked to a "Tire Whisper" (A friend that is the alignment business for 40 years) and he told me to quite rotating front to back, but to go a X pattern for 5 times then the 6th go back to front to back one time. Tire problem went away. At the present time, you can only get tires from the dealer, so its best to stay on pressure. Overall the NV200 is a solid van for small business
Road Trip
Loved my new NV200, handles so well and gets really great mileage doing 80 mph got 26-28 mpg going up hills...first road trip was 2400 miles and it hummed along the road and in the city!!!
2015 NV 200 Neutral Safety Switch
Please be aware if you bought a Nissan NV 200, the transmission neutral safety switch goes bad after about 120,000 miles. Nissan will not sell you just the switch to alleviate the problem. You have to buy a rebuilt transmission from Nissan at a cost of $4500. Tried calling 4 different Nissan dealerships which all stated part is not for sale. Contacted Nissan Corporate Customer Service and they started the same. With a new transmission, you get 12 month, 12000 mile warranty and has to be put in by Nissan dealership. Mine will start in every gear. God help if this pops out of gear and the damage it can cause.
Nissan and they're great tire wear scam
Watch out when you buy an nv200 cargo van my van and numerous other reviews on the internet State the same thing ear regular tire wear tread cross pattern issues Tire cupping dealer and manufacturer blaming it on consumer knowing that there is a issue with suspension I myself have had the tire pressure sensor system worked on at least twice was supposed to have had a tire rotation by the dealer in January of 2017 I have had bearing and Axle work on the front end have been trying to get the vehicle into dealer for over four to five months and now that it is in the dealer the dealer is trying to hit me with a lot of vehicle cost of repairs when the vehicle is under 5 year 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and tires are under the manufacturer warranty tires have been rotated tire pressure sensor System since the dealer recalibrated it and January of 2017 the indicator has never went off on the dash to advise me that the tires were low but somehow when I took it into the dealer they're blaming the ear regular tire wear on low pressure which is the same diagnosis that is all over the internet from other customers writing negative reviews I am getting treated the same way from Nissan Nissan is trying to cover it up the dealer is trying to cover up their poor repairs and at this point the vehicle has been left at the dealership and I am investigating lemon law in the state of Ohio.

THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN.....THE WORST
This van does not belong on the road and Nissan should be ashamed of them selves for putting it on the road. I have 12,000 miles on mine and have hated every mile. Its so slow, tires are garbage(way to small for highway travel)...need new tires at 12,000 miles(worn out already), VERY unstable at highway speeds...anything over 60MPH you better hang on for your life. The back door is already off alignment(doesnt close right). The transmission is dull....you cant get out of your own way...forget about passing anyone. The engine light came on at 7 miles on the odometer....the fuel mileage sucks!! I can go on and on....FYI....its a company vehicle not my own Update 10/23/18 Still a POS. I don’t drive it over 55 mph and the passenger side door panels have popped off.

Does the job
Bought new, now at 130,000 miles still going strong with no major issues. Front wheel bearing went out at 40,000 warranty covered. Tire rotation is a must at every 5000 miles. Cooper Discovery HD3 tires have held up better than dealer tires. Front brakes are still original, rear brakes replaced at 80,000. Excellent for light duty service work with ample cargo space, easy to get in and out. Much better on gas mileage than a pickup truck.
Lots of repair bills
Worst vehicle ever made. Our nv200 has spent more time in the shop then a fleet of 8 vehicles put together. The Cadillac converter rusted out after 3 years. The vehicle needs custom tires that cost more money than regular tires because they are the euro style. The suspension cannot hold a decent amount of weight.

window needed on back passenger side
I have windows in the back, but there should be a window built into the back passenger side. Not to open and close...just to look thru. Would be a lot safer. Nissan should do a recall and put in the side window. The gas gauge is frustrating because I don't know when I'm at the beginning of a bar or near the end. I like the old-style vertical, linear gauge. Again, the spare tire should be inside the vehicle or have a lift-up at the end of the bed. I had them put it inside so the tire guys wouldn't have to go to a lot of hassle to check it and put air in it. I do not use the air indicator at all because it flashes on and off like all the other lights. If something needs attention, that light should stay on. I just get the tires filled once a month, like usual. There is very little room in the passenger seat and glove compartment...they should both have more space. The mileage should show tenths of a mile. All of the above. I intend to buy a new NV200 in a few years, and I will expect to find these improvements.

UPDATE - keep or trade - TRADED for 2019
New 2019 available Looked at new NV200 while current one was being serviced. Nice but basically unchanged showed me the retained value of older model. Trade-in value dropping and retail price rising will be the primary decision maker. 2013 model still meeting ALL I need it for. FALL 2018 ADDITIONS - Still best for my load and use BUT...Reflection and position of instrumentation make direct reading dangerous (eyes away from road), Audio drop out forces reSYNC, "Butt locking" is inconvenient and it still seems that vehicle auto locks overnight (but it may be my butt-again). Vehicle age is prompting shopping for replacement. It WILL BE an NV200 2018 UPDATE Loading and unloading average of 4 times each week and getting older. Appreciate low loading deck every time. Had to add more cushioning for passenger (wife). Will look for better passenger seat in next NV200 and maybe a single passenger seat (my load has room for that). After 4 years still glad to have the NV200. (previous) Lowest floor height makes lifting and loading easy (for the elderly). Purchased exclusively for that feature. Confirm that tire life is VERY short (20-23000 miles). There tires by others that meet Nissan specs for less money. Paid independent specialty alignment shop to electronically check alignment and found (as others have) that there is a misalignment in the rear wheels and in their opinion, the alignment is contributing to premature tire wear. Will address to Nissan dealership but specialty shop could not identify any means to adjust rear alignment. Checked for a competitive brand to extend tire life but nothing beats the loading height of the NV 200. As a light load, low mileage user, I still know that for my need I can find NOTHING BETTER! UPDATE.... Loading in the dark forced me to use a head mounted flashlight. After 3 years I aAdded LEDs around inside and tapped into rear (small) interior light. It's something I should have recognized the shortcoming and had it professionally installed at purchase. Still the best vehicle (to meet my need ) ever. 2022 UPDATE: Covid slowed use. Still completely satisfied (12000 miles) Hoping the new European version will be stateside for next trade. This model is discontinued in USA

Perfect for my needs
TH NV200 did everything a small cargo van should. Easy loading with sliding doors on both sides and rear doors that open 180 degrees. Mileage was better than advertised. In my 4-1/2 years of operation I have had no troubles.

Great little van
Drive one for delivering luggage. Very easy to load and unload with sliding doors on both sides and back doors ample sized. Has 180000+ miles on original engine. Replaced rear wheel bearings and was drastically quieter. Has many comforts and very agile for narrow streets. Small diameter wheels make it jumpy at highway speeds. Overall happy with it for business.
New owner concerned about transmission
At constant highway speeds drop the revs suddenly this and confort of siting is my main concern for now

NV 200 Not Enough for the Job
I purchased an NV 200 in 2014 for a small business we were establishing and needed a vehicle for the purchase of raw material and transportation. The van's engine appeared to be sufficient during test drive, but in reality it has a hard time hauling cargo. The acceleration is poor and can be unsafe at time. I have also experience tire wear. With 8000 miles the tires show significant tire wire. I have also learned the replacement tires are very expensive. In addition, I am experiencing paint issues for which Nissan does not want to be held accountable. It appears the van was touchup before I made the purchase. Still debating on this issue. Overall, the van does not have the engine power to haul cargo. It does provide for easy entry into the van, it is accessible and easy to get cargo in and out of the van. But lacks engine power.

Bad rear axle and tires
It is very golf cart like but it get the job done. I have owned it for about a year and put 15000 miles on it. I carry about 400 lbs in the rear for work. No problem getting around with it loaded. The problem is the rear axle and tires. The camber is off on both side and it has chewed up the tires. there is no adjustment and the dealer says its in spec, and also that I need to replace the tires because they are chewed up. They want $200 ea for tires.
Bad Warranty
My nv200 tires are wearing out exteamly fast on the rear. The rear axle is not aligned right. Two dealerships are saying this and Nissan still won't fix it. See carcomplaints.com to see all the other people complaining about the same problem.
Cvt Transmission
You will definitely run into changing the cvt transmission which costs about $7000 to replace. Not reliable from owning a Ford transit connect I can tell i won't be buying cvt transmission ever again.

Do not buy a Nissan - Period
Bought it brand new in 2015. Nothing but trouble since then. Passenger’s airbag defective. Needs a recall. Still not working after allegedly they fixed it. Tire gage sensors - out on the third year. Awful CVT transmission. Gasket failed. The transmission broke without warning. Overall I’ve had really bad experience recently with Nissan cars. 2013 Infinity JX 35 and 2015 Infinity Q50 literally started leaking water inside the cars after each rain. I bought a Datsun 510 in 1990 with 200K miles on it. Ran for 7 years without any problems. The quality of Nissan made cars has gone down the hill over the years
