LE Platinum Is Good But Worth $40,000?

I came from a BMW 3-series so this is a complete change of vehicle for me. I do like the car. I like how it rides and handles. Love the interior design and the high-end accessories like the heated seats and steering wheel. The Nav is like any other as is the bluetooth so it's fine. Rear camera is actually nice once you get used to it. It does help. In all, it's a very nice SUV. I think the brakes could use an upgrade to help it stop faster. I think the gas mileage could be better. I'm HOPING that it's more reliable than my BMW. That's why I bought it. Nissan vs BMW reliability. I can deal with the other stuff I suppose as long as its reliable. I was gonna' spend $40K either way on a car.

Extremely bad mileage car!

Don't have a hope that the car will give you 18-23 mpg city/highway! In fact, it may be way below fine printed 14-20 mpg. I was unlucky to by Nissan Murano S AWD 2012 in July 2012. The car makes only 11-13 miles per gallon even if I drive very smoothly. It is bad in city and bad on highway. Checked with the service in the dealership - they found nothing wrong with the car. Third time the service director took the car on the series of test drives and measured the mileage himself. Not looking at the cluster display but actually running the car, measuring miles, topping the fuel and calculating the mileage. The numbers went out the same: 11-13 mpg. Nissan doesn't want to take the car back!

Great handling car with plenty of engine power to get up steep hills without a sweat! However, stereo unit is starting to show glitches like the volume button turning up the volume when trying to turn it down sometimes and goes the opposite sometimes as well. Also the usb hook up sometimes gets fussy with the flashdrive and I've had to re- attach the flashdrive or even restart the engine to get it to work before a long trip. Worst of all, the dealer says aftermarket stereos won't work with this car since the A/C controls won't work without the original stereo which will cost around $2,000 to replace (price and labor). I didn't know I was buying a luxury car (like the Infiniti version)! Cargo space could also be improved as well as a defroster that doesn't allow air to recirculate inside while defrosting windshield so outside exhaust and other awful smells always comes in and the rear air ducts hardly work. This is a nice overall car with many features still offered for the money with cloth seats (like dual zone air, power driver/passenger seats, dual moonroof, and backup monitor) but expect to pay for some pricey repairs without a warranty (and those wonderful extended warranties that still don't cover everything)! And even though it has a sporty look, don't expect it to accelerate as well as it looks because on the highway it doesn't downshift good enough for instant passing power. I'm 5 foot 8 and this car feels right to me while driving but my mom who is shorter than me has a hard time behind the wheel while trying to reach the gas/brake pedals. Also miss cupholders in the doors (like my 2008 Hyundai Tuscon had) Definitely an average to tall persons car who are either single or a small family.

Bought this car May 2018. Looove this car!! The seats are extremely comfortable, rides nice and smoothly. I do wish the road noise was quieter but it honestly doesn’t bother me much. VERY spacious backseats. I love to add 4 more people with me knowing they all will be comfortable. I take pride in my car keeping it clean and smelling good!

We bought a 2012 Murano SL (FWD) 3 months ago and it delivers just about everything we wanted the vehicle for. It has great acceleration with 260 HP and pretty good handling. The interior is very nice and upscale. We both like the styling of the vehicle because it does not look like every other SUV on the road and we both pretty much have not found anything we don't like about the 2012 Murano. We got a great price as compared to how much it cost when new and we saved roughly $20,000 purchasing the vehicle for $17,000 as apposed to it's new $37,000 price!
